My Apex pool build started approximately June 2020 and was completed in September. Bottom line: After a year, I am very satisfied with the quality of my pool. Apex did a beautiful job. Additionally, Apex has exceeded my expectations in regards to fixing after-final -construction issues. Some Details: 1 Competitive pricing. Apex quote came in at the same price as other lower-rated pool companies and 20% less than similarly rated companies. 2. Apex has their own people. I experienced a consistent quality of work and predictable timetable. Each phase of my build project was handled by a different group of people. Every single person in every phase took pride in their work; were friendly and professional. Roddy Brown my construction manager 95% of the time answered his phone and provided clear answers to any questions. I called Roddy one day AFTER the build was complete. He answered the phone even though he was home recovering from a serious illness. On another occasion, I called the Apex office when it was closed on a Saturday. The office manager Julie, answered the call and helped me EVEN THOUGH SHE HAD COME IN TO CATCH UP ON WORK AND THE OFFICE WAS CLOSED!!!! WOW. 3. Another plus with Apex is that they are a paver contractor. It was easy to pick out our pavers because they use their parking lot as the paver display. Large sections of each paver type so that you can get a clear idea of what the pavers look like. Apex did an amazing job on our pool hardscape. 4. The pool build is a long process. The most agonizing part is the initial permiting that was at least 4-plus weeks. Nothing Apex could do about that. Many steps and many inspections. Apex provided a project sheet outlining each phase of the build process. Additionally, it seemed like they had good coordination with the local inspectors because we never had to wait too long to get and inspector in to review their work. 5. I got feedback from the local inspector that APEX was a quality pool company and seldom had inspection issues. He mentioned that another pool company was doing a job in our neighborhood and they had a long list of issues. Throughout the multiple inspections that were conducted, I think the inspector had one item on the punch list for correction. 6. After the build was completed, the last person I interacted with was "The Pool Lady". Her job was to train me on taking care of my pool. She came in initially to get the water chemistry right and to go through all the steps to keeping my water and pool in great shape. I think she did 3-4 separate visits. She was very thorough and helpful (I have never owned a pool). With her training, I was confident that I could do my own pool chemistry. A year later, my pool water is crystal clear. Based on discussions with other new pool owners the Apex Pool Lady was a star. She really knew her stuff. 7. Finally I want to reiterate the exception after-the-build response to questions and issues. I called several times with equipment issues (not related to Apex). I was shocked that Apex responded that same day multiple times. I think once I waited a day. I was pleasantly surprised with their response. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. We had a simple basic pool put it. We have a crooked drain that has never been addressed. Ray Charles could have done a better job. I will never have anything good to say about Apex unless they fix this. We addressed it over and over and got ABSOLUTELY no response. read more

It has been a few years now and the pavers keep getting the sand washed out. The were not locked down properly. Money was the priority.

We are so happy we made the decision to go with Apex as our pool builder! Material shortages and personnel availability did have a small impact during our build with the pandemic still a factor, but our pool was completed as planned /quoted! No surprises! Started new pool construction first week of Feb '22, its now mid June and still unknown completion date. Need to wire equipment and i already have installed a 100 amp box at the equipment location to make it easier for them. Then pool needs plastered and patio coat of paint. Not much left but no end in sight. Simple rectangle pool, no spa, no fountains, nothing beyond a standard pool surrounded by a concrete patio with a standard paint finish. I was a home builder in my career and we built standard 1500 sf houses in less time this firm can build a pool. They like to start but the finish is a problem. No communication unless I stop at the office and even then I get hopefully/maybe dates which keep changing. My fellow contractors, friends and family are just as confused as I am. You wait 2 weeks for an appointment. The day before the appointment, You get an email confirming the appointment telling you not to reply . Apparently, their automated system also called me the day before the appointment and the call went to voice mail cancelling my appointment. I had my patio paved and it was a fantastic experience. They told me exactly how long it would take for the pavers and permit to be in. Once in Doreen set everything up and the crew arrived as expected. I had a pool remodel with a Patio extension w/travertine deck, and driveway pavers. Apex Pools and Pavers HAD a very good reputation in previous years. That is why I chose them. A lot has changed. My experience began in October 2019 when I first inquired about their services and a Project Designer was sent to my home. Once the sale was made and materials chosen the fun was over. The communication within the company is possibly the worst I've ever experienced. It took forever to get on schedule and when I called and pressed the issue they finally gave me a start date. My experience with this company has been frustrating to say the least. Poor communication, inadequate job management (Workers completely unsupervised), poor material estimations resulting in massive amounts of leftover (extremely expensive) product, and complete disregard for the homeowner and their property are just some of the problems that arose during my home improvement project. As a woman, they were very condescending when I questioned their practices or tried to explain issues. From the owner himself down to the supervisors there is a definite attitude of superiority. The final product looks pretty, but definitely not perfect. I had issues with the pool deck and the driveway failed inspection. Now that they have all their money there is no sense of urgency in attending to Issues such as my travertine tiles partially lifting etc... For the money they charge they are a nightmare to deal with. It may not have been as lucrative for them as their multimillion dollar clients they like to boast about, but this was a large investment in my home and extremely significant to me. At best, all they did was placate me from time to time. PS I also asked to speak to the owner. Mr. Figman, identified himself as the owner, and Instead of listening to what I had to say he spoke over me with his answers predetermined. Many of the early issues I had I let go but then everything just piled up and I felt as if I was being bullied. At that time I stated I was going to give a poor review of his company.
