2.5 years later (2nd phase) my son got his braces removed but I wasn't too satisfied. Although they were friendly, once the contract & payments were over it was time to remove his braces which he still had an overbite bigger than I would have liked. A friend of mine paid extra to keep his braces longer & his teeth look nice. I didn't know that was on option. (4 stars for my son. His teeth are nice but side profile you can notice his overbite) I also ended up getting Sparks, somewhat like Invisalign. My teeth were already straight but due to age they were moving so I went in for a retainer. They recommended braces. I regret it because my smile shifted a bit. I spent a lot of & my smile looks the same, I actually liked the before better ‍‍. (2.5 stars for the recommendation they gave me. Came here a while ago for a consultation. The staff were very welcoming for when you once step inside, however, I felt that the doctor didn't take much time into the consultation itself, especially with explaining the differences between the aligner/braces options. Instead of providing details, it was essentially what are you willing to pay (metal braces v. Clear braces v. Invisalign). I ended up getting aligners somewhere else, but would recommend the doctor to spend more time with patients during consultation...whether we feel comfortable, supported make a difference. read more

I am not one to leave negative comments however, after paying almost 7k for my aligners, you have to make sure this is what you want. I am not happy with my results, my teeth are not even straight. If I would've known before, I would've gotten regular braces for a much cheaper price and with better results. The dr. Insisted I needed to wear the aligners 23hours a day or so, with only removing them in between meals. I did that. At times, some of the sets did not even fit properly, I would get them refitted and at one point or another the new set would have the same issue. Make sure you ask before getting aligners how do they determine the amount of time it takes for your teeth to be straightened out with aligners because that is definitely not accurate when all these issues come up. Also the dr made it seem it was someone what fault because I had not gotten a teeth cleaning in months. Which I found to be a dumb reason. After my time period had expired, if I wanted to continue with aligners I needed to pay. Pay? Again? No way! So yeah, I wouldn't recommend aligners at this location. read more

My little girl loves going to see her orthodontist... No, it's not the cookie or coffee for mommy. It is the wonderful staff at this place. They really care about their tiny sized patients, like my little 11 year old girl. Before i picked this place, she was treated by another orthodontist for her open bite with myobrace. Initially, i was in love with that place, but they kept on changing doctors. I decided to switch to apex after comparing prices with various places. Her old place, the initial doctor left and that's when everything went hill. This place is own by a lovely husband and wife team. They are both very nice with little kids, very patience. My little girl actually was the one who pick this place, even without knowing other places quoted mommy. She said she likes to get her braces there because the facility is clean, new, modern. She is silly alright. As for why I picked this place, first it is the location ( I'm in Hacienda). Close but not too close, it is about 10 mins from where i live, and alot of time there will br traffic leaving there on Colima heading back to hacienda Heights. I actually did look at 3 places in hacienda heights and i dislike their service. Waited an hour for a free consultation at one place, one place the orthodontist can't speak English clearly, and one just had a rude lady as receptionist. The other two places i got quotes from are in whittier. One had their computer on with patient info, totally violated hipaa. And this other place charges ridiculous amount of money. So at the end, I simply listen to my little girl and pick apex. I love this place, never make my wait more than 5 mins, very on schedule. Don't bother to do anywhere else, and waste your time. I already gone through 6 quotes plus one from her old orthodontist. Total of 7 quotes, I'm a single mom raising 2 kids without help, i need not just the best price, but also the best people that i can trust to give my little girl the best smile. A beautiful smile is important for girls (and boys). Also, they have 2 locations. If whittier is too far, check them out at their location in west covina??? I believe. Bottom line is, kid loves it, mommy approved. And yes God customer service is one of the top reason i pick this place, along with their awesome pricing. I took my son in for a consultation they brought him into the consult room. We spoke of prices and met the ortho doctor who right then and there took his gloved fingers to examine my son's mouth. My son was in a reg chair and saliva all over from the dentists examination . A little strange. I understand it is a small office but if you don't have an examining chair then don't allow me to make an appointment . The other issue I had was they were so concerned about when my sons last dental cleaning was (in which I couldn't remember the date) I advised them that I take my son in for normal cleanings each year but since I didn't have the exact date, we could not proceed to get braces on until I had a letter from my normal dentist stating his last cleaning . I was a little offended by the staff assuming that I don't take care of my son's dental needs. As I was leaving they then changed their mind and said we can have braces put on but by that time I decided this place was not a good fit for us ,so I then went to Gire orthodontics where I never once was asked if my sons teeth were cleaned regularly and the staff was very friendly read more

I completed my Invisalign treatment a few years ago at Apex's West Covina location, but being inconsistent and negligent with my final trays the last few years resulted in my bottom teeth beginning to overlap and crowd again. I noticed that when my teeth were straight I had less problems with food getting stuck in my teeth, but as they became more misaligned food started getting stuck frequently again! Ugh. Anyway, my personal issues aside... I went to the new Whittier location because it slightly closer to me, but let me just say, I would drive far to go to Dr. Kim. She's personable, professional and I always feel like she's putting my goals and dental health first. I actually enjoy my ortho appointments. And I'm SO glad the past work I had done on my teeth could somewhat be salvaged. The duration of my "refinement" treatment was much shorter and totally worth it. I will be better with my final trays this time! The photos speak for themselves but their office is immaculate and the staff is super friendly. Dr. Kim is also super great with kids. I am so happy I decided to start my braces treatment here. Let me first start off this review by saying I am an adult and I never had braces when I was a child. I started to notice a lot of crowding on my bottom front teeth recently, so I finally decided to take the plunge to start orthodontic treatment. I called the office after browsing on yelp and seeing this office's reviews at the West Covina location. One of my girlfriends from pilates class actually did her Invisalign at their West Covina office, and she was raving about the doctors and staff. Apparently, this location is their second office and it also just happens to be much more convenient for me. Jessica answered the phone and helped schedule me in for the next day! Woot!! At the consultation, I got a tour of the office and yummy, warm and soft cookies straight out of their oven! The office is super clean, there's plenty of parking in the lot, and the office stays nice and cool always especially in this current scorching LA heat. I met with Dr. Kim and she was so friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. It's a husband and wife practice and I love how welcoming the vibe is at this place. Every time I walk in, there are smiling faces checking me in and showing me straight to my chair. No wait time is always a plus. I really feel welcomed and comfortable at this office and always look forward to my next adjustment. I'm definitely bringing my kids here next. :) I work and speak closely with others all day long and so I knew I really didn't want to draw attention to my teeth! At the consult, I was given the choice of clear braces and Invisalign. I decided to go with clear braces because I didn't want to have to remind myself to wear the aligners because I can be quite forgetful. The clear braces are gorgeous and not at all noticeable. It's been a few visits and I already see tremendous change in my teeth. Initial consultation I was given a tour and told exactly what my treatment would consist of. In house financing made it possible for my son and I to aim for beautiful smiles. Each visit is personable and the vibes are always positive. Dr Paul and Dr Aileen work together and make the treatment in line with my orthodontic needs at every visit.
