But if you had as bad a case of…read morecataracts as I had, you'd understand how awful it was living with what amounted to both eyes looking through thick aging plastic Jeep windows. The first optometrist misdiagnosed me, claiming I had glaucoma, which is incurable. I refused to accept that, so after talking to some colleagues, I went to see Arzoo. She determined I have cataracts, and it's an easy thing to cure, where 99%+ surgeries are successful, and fast. She recommended a surgeon, who I won't name since I want the focus to be on Arzoo. :) I had plenty in my HSA, so I went to the surgeon she recommended. After two surgeries, one per eye, my vision is now better than 20/20. I'm so happy that I can see so clearly so far away. I need reading glasses for anything under 18" but I can see the instruments in my Jeep without any issue. I was told before surgery and I am totally fine with that! I just use reading glasses when I'm at my computer at home or work. I really mean it when I say Arzoo saved my life. Life today is so much happier than it was before I had cataract surgery. She is quite experienced, and capable, and she has the interests of her paticince in mind. I highly recommend her.

Off to rest the eyes when the glasses are on. On to rest the eyes when the glasses are off. My vision is otherwise good. Last year I even got prescription sunglasses with all the bells and whistles. But the first time I walked into the sunshine my eyes screamed NO! I returned the glasses to Eagle Ranch Vision Center, and there I found Dr. Corey Giammarco. Through Dr. Giammarco I found Dr. Rebecca Miller at Mueller Vision, 4000 Bryant Irvin Rd. in Fort Worth. What a Coup that was! After six years, numerous eye exams, eyeglass tweaks and constant disappointments, I finally had a diagnosis - "Very, very dry Eyes." I always scoffed at the commercials saying "dry eyes was a made-up syndrome." But apparently after two laser eye surgeries, and an eyelid surgery I wasn't producing enough moisture. What was produced was thick like cold Crisco. Ugh! Dr. Miller gave me a prescription of steroid eyedrops with instructions to use them for a month along with daily warm eye compresses. My return to Dr. Miller showed some improvement. The compresses were keeping the moisture somewhat liquid. The pain was lessened and my eyes showed less damage on the surface Although I see more (over the counter) eyedrops and warm compresses ahead of me, at least with Dr. Miller's help I see through the haze, to a brighter and less painful future.

When you first walk in, the reception area and frames section are very bright and clean. I love the exposed wooden beams. Everything, including exam room was clean and inviting. It may seem silly but they have an air purifier that was humming and felt like a calming, white noise while you wait for the Dr. I arrived 15 minutes early just in case I needed to do anything extra with checking in since it was my first visit. I had completed the new patient paperwork online ahead of time but gave myself that extra time just in case. Turns out, I didn't need it but no problem. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly while checking me in. My appt was set for 11:30 and at exactly 11:30, Chloe - Optician called me for the initial exams. She was very thorough and detailed every step and what she would be looking for. We had a friendly conversation and then she placed me in a room at about 11:50. I'm giving time stamps to help manage your expectations but of course, every patient may take less or more time depending on your needs and questions. Dr. Kirscht arrived at 12:07 for her part of the exam. She is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, and never made the visit feel rushed. She explained things I had never been told before and truly help my understanding of my vision, eye health, and needs going forward. Once finished there, the receptionist (I apologize I didn't catch her name), escorted me back to the front where she introduced James -Optician to help me select frames and discuss options. James was very kind and friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It's hard to pick out frames when you can't see yourself so I trusted his judgment. He gave great feedback and I found a pair pretty quickly that I loved. I was also able to purchase for $40 a pair of magnetic sunglasses frames for my glasses! I loved that this option was available. He also took time to explain what insurance covered and any out of pocket expenses. A bonus was I am able to pay 50% up front and remainder of balance when I pick up my frames which is a wonderful option for those needing it or just wanting to. I walked out by 12:50! So a little over an hour for everything and that included discussion of a Retina specialist. (Yes, I'm being referred if you read this pray for me ugh!) I've visited two other places in Allen for eye exams. None have been horrible or bad experiences but; I loved the vibe here, the welcoming staff, the clean environment, and the wealth of knowledge they all have in their field of expertise. Out of the 3 - this is by far my favorite. James was not pushy with up-selling nor try to talk me into grandiose frames that cost the most. It felt genuine and honest. I appreciate that. It's easy to see why they continue to receive 5 stars. If you're looking for a vision home - Delta Eye Care is calling!

I visited several eye doctors, hoping to be a candidate for LASIK. Unfortunately, every one of them ruled it out and recommended PRK again. Then I found Dr. Michael Mazaheri, and to my surprise, he was the only doctor who said NO--not just to LASIK, but to PRK as well. He explained in detail why surgery would be risky in my case, citing thin corneas and retina. I'll never forget what he said and I quote: "If I agree to perform surgery, then I'm only thinking about my pocket--but I care about your vision." Unlike the other doctors, who didn't even mention my elevated eye pressure, Dr. Mazaheri took a cautious, thorough, and ethical approach. He recommended a conservative treatment plan first, prescribing eye drops and a range of vitamins to strengthen my cornea and retina. His plan is to monitor my progress and reassess in a year--possibly starting with surgery on the right eye first, since the left is more compromised. Was I disappointed to learn that surgery isn't an option right now? Absolutely. But I am grateful beyond words for Dr. Mazaheri's honesty, expertise, and dedication to doing what's best for his patients--not what's profitable. I'd much rather take care of my eyes first than rush into a surgery that could turn into a nightmare. Thank you, Dr. Mazaheri, for treating your patients with integrity and compassion. I see doctor Gaddis this year for an issue and while I am in the waiting room, her front office was rude and made humiliating jokes at my expense. I go in to see Dr Gaddis and she acted like I was wasting her time and rushed me out. Today I call to obtain all my records and they made no attempt to find out why I was leaving or made an attempt to keep me as a patient. After 11 years of being a patient, I expected better.

A couple of weeks later, I received a text saying they were ready for pickup. When I arrived, only one pair was actually available. I left and waited another two weeks before following up. On a Friday, I called and was told no one was available, but someone would call me back on Monday with an update. Monday came and went--no call by 2:00 p.m. I called again and was placed on hold until the call dropped. I tried again, was promised a callback "right away," and waited 45 minutes with no response. Frustrated, I called a third time and requested a refund. Once more, I was told someone would call me back. Eventually, I did get a call: they had the lenses but not the frames. Then they offered a similar style in black--I agreed to proceed. Later, another call came saying the frames weren't black after all, but grey. At this point, I was so fed up I just told them to use the grey ones. I'm finally supposed to pick them up tomorrow... I hope. After all this hassle, endless waiting, broken promises, and terrible communication, I seriously doubt I'll ever return.
