I threw out my back last year while camping. It was my first time ever doing it and I was in so much pain. A week went by and my husband tells me I should go see a chiropractor. I was so scared - as I have seen videos on social media of the cracking sound that I didn't think I could do it. I did my research on yelp and found Apex. Walking in limping and nervous everyone greeted me so warmly and did everything in their power to calm my nerves. They did some x-rays and told me what they were going to do. A couple weeks later my back was all better from my camping incident. All the chiropractors and the staff are all amazing! Even to this day, I still get a bit nervous of the cracking sounds but they know to make me feel comfortable and not to worry. I just need to remember to stay consistent because I stopped going due to life being busy. Then BAM! I tweaked my back again this year. Back I went! Due to me carrying my stress in my back, I do have back pain. Now, I am enjoying my massages every time I go. I have tried acupuncture with cupping - which was quite nice! Last appointment, Dane recommended to be stretched with my last 15 minutes before picking up my daughter. I had no clue what I was doing and the moves seemed so simple, but I was sore the next day. So Dr. Christian is my new chiropractor. I will admit that he's very easy going and personable. He took x-rays of my back then did an assessment for my personal limitations and then we moved onto the adjustment. The neck and back adjustment were great I felt everything crack...lol. maximum tension relief delivered. I felt great after my appointment. Front staff was nice and accommodating. The office is clean and lots of space to stretch out and relax for your appointment. They also offer massage and it also looks like p.t. as well. Love coming to Apex, i am a professional Muay Thai fighter, and this place keeps my body aligned and prepared for training and recovery. The chiropractic side is phenomenal, they didnt just adjust me but they took xrays to see the misalignments and corrected it. What i mainly come here for is to get body work/sports massage by Elliot, it is not your typical relaxing massage, he really works out the kinks and strains in your muscles with his thumbs of steel and will also add cupping to your body while hes working on you. he will find the trouble spots in your back and legs and work it out. I always leave Elliot's sessions feeling much more relaxed and looser and better than before. I called Apex interested in being a new patient and have PPO insurance. The receptionist lady answered my call and said she will call my insurance to look into my benefits for a massage therapy/treatment. She said she will get back to me by the end of the day. I provided her all my info including my insurance. It's been 36-48 hours and no call back. I just like a place that will follow through on their commitment and promise. And, even if you are busy, reset expectations with your patients as they are waiting for a call. Plenty of other choices around the area. This review is primarily for one of the massage therapists. Upon my initial visit, Dr. Mathew was welcoming and patient, answering all of my questions about treatment and guiding me through the diagnosis process, treatments, and payment options. I went with the trigger point injections, adjustments and massages paying for a total of 4 sessions upfront. Overall staff was friendly and professional but seemed to be rushed during busy days e.g. Saturdays, which did not help put me at ease when getting the trigger point injections. One of the massage therapists (forgetting her name) did not explain the kind of massage and technique she will use before beginning, which I believe is standard in the practice. There was also no room to communicate what I wanted out of the session - I prefer a quiet massage that gradually goes into deep tissue. Throughout the session, there were repetitive comments about how I couldn't relax, stating that this explains the knots I had. One of the shaming comments she clearly made when I couldn't "relax" was "Ok, I'll let you keep that knot" and her overbearing questions and statements: "What are you a victim of?" "You have trust issues." When telling her the deep tissue massage was getting too painful she would not stop responding that I had to resist getting the knots out which is a lack of responding to my needs as a patient. Overall this session was emotionally distressful and triggering. There were two other great massage therapists I had sessions with that were professional and followed standard protocol. read more
