Charlie and Mannie came out to inspect the damage a few days later and stated that basically the damage done by the machine was due to poor installation of the tile by the original contractor. When asked how much it would costs to repair, Charlie stated $250.00. First of all, I would have thought that Renu would have covered the repair since it was their equipment that caused the damage. It's easy to blame it on the contractor who installed it year's earlier, right! I told them that was too much, so Mannie said how about $200 when I did not reply he then said how about $175. Mannie then said that he would come by the next morning at 9am and do the repairs, however, he did not show up at the appointed time...unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time.

Stanley Steamer got it done on the first try. I hired Extra Care Carpet cleaning to clean the carpets in my whole house. Upon arrival Josh wetted down all the carpets with a pre treatment spray. Then when he went to start cleaning the carpets his truck broke down and he wasn't able to clean the carpets. This was at 11am, Josh left and said he would have to return once his truck was fixed. Josh returned at 6:00pm the same day after my carpets had been sitting wet all day. He then cleaned the carpets, I was busy working on a project outside, so I was not inside the home to watch how he cleaned the carpets. The next morning when the carpets were dry I noticed the area by my rear patio door looked like the carpet had not been cleaned at all, it was visibly darker than the other areas. I also noticed another spot in a different area. I contacted Josh regarding this and he told me he cleaned that area several times and the carpet would be a different color because of the wear pattern. I explained to Josh that the carpet was just installed less than 8 months ago, and there seemed to be no reason this would not clean out. Josh then said he scrubbed and scrubbed and the area was going to be darker. Based on my prior experiences with other carpet cleaners and never having this issue before I decided to see if I could clean the area myself. I took a damp rag and some spray carpet cleaner and worked on the area briefly. I went thru 4 different rags and each quickly turned from white to brown with dirt. I then went to the other spot in a different area and sure enough it cleaned right up as well. Based on this it was obvious that Josh equipment was not working correctly. I paid $140 to have my carpet wetted down with zero cleaning. I immediately told Josh how easily I was able to clean the carpet and requested a refund since it was evident my none of my carpet was cleaned. Josh then offered to come back out and clean the affected area. I told Josh I wanted a refund since he already told me he tried his best on that area and that it was always going to be darker, which was not true since I easily cleaned the area. Josh said he would not give me a refund and then compared my request to going to a restaurant and asking for a discount. I again requested a refund and advised I would have all the carpets cleaned by another company and present him with the receipt to indeed prove I had to pay someone else to do the job correctly. Josh refused to offer a refund. I hired Stanley Steamer to come out and clean the carpets again. They cleaned all the same areas including the spot that was showing dirt. After they were done and the carpet dried the area that Josh said was worn and would always be darker, was nice and clean, with it being the same color as the rest of the carpet. I contacted Josh and sent him a copy of the Stanley Steamer bill and gave him one last chance to make it right. Josh refused to offer a refund and said he had offered to come back out so he owed me nothing. After Stanley Steamer easily being able to clean the area it was clear to me either Josh's equipment wasn't working right or he didn't know what he was doing, either way I am owed a refund because he did not do the work I paid for. If you do happen to use his services, I highly recommend using a credit card, even though he will charge you 2.5% extra, because then this way you can dispute the charge if you have an issue with him. I unfortunately wrote him a check.

I still hired them because I felt confident that the company was sold to competent people. I will just say this, they need more training on carpet cleaning. They need to get rid of their roller (yes, roller) I only wish I could describe this roller, but it did more harm than good. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Dirt Busters carpet cleaning. Please, everyone beware.
