Keycard provided needed to get up elevators which is a good security measure. This hotel has a sauna and workout floor at the penthouse on 15th with great views of the ski slope. Room has wide window to look out from. Water pressure is fantastic for the shower and shower gel provided. A yelper commented about no toilet paper, but maybe staff just forgot about it that time. Tea and coffee making facility with a kettle. Tap water is drinkable! Room has a safe and heating temp is perfect this cold Feb night.

Stayed for 6 days/five nights and had an awesome experience. As the name states, this was an apartment, so a little different in that the room had a stove with 2 burners, towel warmer, dishwasher, microwave, small refrigerator and coffee pot....which was everything we needed. You don't get daily towel service or room cleaning, which I prefer and I was able to just move in and not worry about anyone bothering me. We bought the breakfast in the restaurant which was convenient. Very close to 2 train stops (Luma and Sickla Kaj) which helped us get around tremendously. I will return to this location again.

It's a modern design with flat TVs on the wall and media connections for you're computer etc. The remotes are extremely slow if there's anything to complain about lol. We had a room (724) with a bloodstain on the sheets, so we called the reception and got a new room and a voucher for "Sturebadet Spa" for two. In our new room we wanted to take a bath but the plug was missing so again we called the reception who sent one up within minutes. The breakfast was also great with anything you could think off. But the staff did not speak either Swedish or English for some reason and they were a bit slow to refill and clean the tables. But they had a fabulous waffle-machine which did the most lovely waffles. The surroundings are excellent just by the water and you can easy get a boat to Slussen in like 10mins. But check the schedule first, it's like one every 50mins or something. When we were leaving they even asked how out r stay was and if we had a nice time. Now for the bad part, which probably don't have that much to do with the actual hotel. The Spa Sturebadet was really bad. + good looking pool + hammam - cosy, silent, hot and really lift your sprit :) - the jacuzzi worked for 10mins, then it was silent while cleaning for 10mins. It was dirty and they missed cleaning it the day before. - they offered complementary flat water and something with a little sparkle to it. No signs which was what. No juices, tea or coffee. -the floor was so slippery in the shower area and changing rooms when the floor was wet even with the hotel slippers. Take care!!! - if you pay for the spa entrance you don't get access to the hammam if you don't pay extra. Then it's another 100kr additional. - pool, jacuzzi and a little sauna is all that is included. -only two showers available when you've exited through the dressing rooms. -sauna only fit like 6ppl and it's not possible to throw any water on it to raise the temp. -the desk lady was really grumpy when we came and left. Don't waste your money here except if it's included in the rooms. The grade for the hotel is 4 and the spa a 2. Will stay in the hotel again, but not going to the spa again.

It is however located close to the commuter train station Alvsjo. It is around 10 minutes by train from the central station but it is worth noting that the commuter trains do not run all night (the subway does) and in winter time the commuter trains are notorious for being late. Still the location is OK. If you are going to the fair it is located in connection to that so then it is an excellent location. The hotel itself is fairly new and it has a Scandinavian feel to it with light colors. The hotel staff were all very helpful and very polite. Check-in was very efficient and they made sure to ask if I wanted the Internet password. The room was also fairly nice and had the same type of design as could be seen in the lobby. Decent size as well which is nice for those who stay longer periods. Most things are fairly standard in the room; wireless Internet, TV, desk, a few chairs, 'minibar' (or at least some snacks, drinks etc - do note that there is no fridge so the drinks are not cold), water kettle, iron (very difficult to find) etc. The bathroom was also nice, no bath tub but I only stayed for one night so no problem. The only thing that annoyed me and I am actually not sure what they were thinking was the fact that they provide soap, shower gel and conditioner but no shampoo. For me it would make sense if they did not provide conditioner but still just a minor issue. The breakfast was great. Large selection of both hot and cold food. Numerous different types of bread (and even some sweets and pastries if that is your thing). The best part was without a doubt the juice/smoothie bar where they made fresh juice and smoothies. There was also an excellent selection of different newspapers. If I would have known that the breakfast was this good I would have made sure to have some more time to spend there. To summarize the hotel is a great choice for anyone who do not mind being based a little bit outside the city. The rates are rather low when there is not a fair going on so it is possible to stay at this hotel for a fairly good price.

The Solna station (Pendeltag/commuter train system) is about a 12-15 minute walk away. Tip: Ignore Google Maps and walk through the Mall to get to the hotel if it's very cold outside. The only drawback is the absolute lack of closet space and the shower enclosure with nothing to stop water from splashing all over the bathroom floor. Staff are nice and there are restaurants on the 4th and 25th floor. I did not go to the 25th floor restaurant but did have breakfast at the other restaurant. As breakfast is always included get to the breakfast restaurant soon as it's a zoo after about 8am. Food is ok nothing special. I am sure I will be back here again. It's one of a handful of hotels close to my office in the area.

The buses took us all over without any problem. The ride in is through the Swedish countryside, with constant reminders of the shore nearby. There are a number of rooms available at the villa for those spending the night, but this is not a large hotel so space may be limited depending on your venue. The rooms are cozy but very nice, keeping with Swedish simplicity and functionality. The outside deck was a perfect size to watch the sunset with family, friends, drinks and a late night coffee. The deck puts right into the water (no railings) so watch your step unless you plan on going in. If you do, the sauna is nearby. I did not use these myself but reports indicated they had been exceptional. It is not one big room but a number of smaller private areas to relax. The Dinning area was substantial but all of the charming characteristics of the space had been maintained. This was by no means a big cold boxy US hotel ball room. -gag- The Villa staff was on top of everything. Food came out hot and on schedule. It was amazing. I really wish I had taken photos but I was getting to know my new family and truly enjoying myself. Now I believe that any good wedding venue or other large event depends on both the venue staff as much as the clients planning. This event was magnificently orchestrated without excessive fuss. The Swedes are a reserved but charming people and it really came through. Us Americans have no shame when it comes to breaking the ice and getting things going. So these two qualities and many more meshed well and resulted in a great time. This makes it difficult to distinguish between the Villa and the wedding party. After the meal we headed down to the dance floor to enjoy the booming sounds from a band that was bought in for this event. They did an amazing job and people danced until the plug was pulled. We made our way out to a cab that had been called in and headed back to Stockholm. The drive was about 30 minutes and about 60 Dollars I believe. Swedish premium cabs are BMW's. So pretty good. Those that spent the night had a nice morning. With a bit of swimming, Bloody Mary's and of course the saunas. Breakfast is in there someplace. Highly recommended for a special event. My room had a bunk bed with a queen on the bottom and a double on the top. There were extra blankets and pillows. The shower and toilet were down the hall and very clean. You so have to use the squeegee and clear the water from the floor when you are finished. There is an outlet in the room to charge your electronics or hair styling product. If you book ahead of time you do not have to remove the dirty linens from your bed. I had a 12 hour layover and the cost was 800 krona which was about 400 cheaper than Clarion Hotel that is near by. I was so grateful to meet Linn (front desk hostess) who helped me navigate which hotels were close to the airport and would be in my price range. She went the extra mile to accommodate a weary traveler and directed me to the correct location to meet the free shuttle to take me to the hotel also.
