    fried herring and mash

After strolling around the ineresting Saluhall we decided to have some lunch. Lisa Elmqvist closed the outside tables on that day - despite the sunny weather. So, no chance with our dog - overpriced all around anyways. We asked this place here and our dog was very welcome at the lovely outside section of the restaurant. We ordered the Salmon Potato Gratin and fried Herrings with mash. Two beers with that. Both items tasted nice. Fresh fish in both dishes. The herring was very crispy and tender. The salmon Gratin was a great combination - never thought of that. Melted butter on the side - nice! Enough with the healthy food... Prices were - for Stockholm at the Saluhall - quite fair. Staff was friendly and the whole place felt very welcoming. Surely would come back.

Perhaps the biggest of the cafes in there but have never eaten here before You have to order and pay at the counter and then go and collect; they clear away...good little menu We chose the Toast Skagen (again!) and the smoked salmon to share; washed down with a glass of house white & red...not sure about the white but the red was very good Such a nice meal...for 606 sek...not cheap but very good and very filling and a lovely location...was supposed to be a light lunch but not really, ah well

I dined here to try some smörgås without knowing how expensive this place is. For a mixed seafood smörgås and a cup of cappuccino, I probably paid like $30!!! When I looked around, there were lots of men in suits having lunch with their business partners/co-workers which seemed to suggest that this place is a little bit more upscale and classy than your typical deli. My mixed seafood spread was a tad heavy on mayo but it was fresh and sinfully delicious! I highly recommend getting the one with avocado, it tastes so much better with it! I still think $30 was a bit pricey for an open sandwich but how often I'm in Stockholm anyway?? Besides, it was very good so I'm just gonna say it was worth it after all.

Kolja slarvigt upplagd och med taskig attityd.

This place offered me first a very poor, slow and inefficient service. When kindly I wondered where my ordered lunch meal was after almost 10 minutes, I was given a bad attitude: "We have already served that fish!" I then pointed out that that serving was for someone else, I was just brushed off as it was my fault. No apology offered, no compensation. The food on my plate was not pleasantly or esthetically served, but dished out in the fastest possible way. Hospital meals that are notorious for looking unpleasant had been better looking! The plate per se was good-tasting but really nothing to write on yelp about... ;) If this place thinks highly of itself and its present location in the posh Östermalm Saluhall, I think some polish of the service is fervently needed. Good food results in a foul taste when served with a bad attitude...

    Stockholm Tysta Mari: Salmon smørrebrød

Tysta Mari is located in Östermalms Saluhall food market. Their products are fresh and service is very friendly. Smørrebrød was OK, just I didn't expect to get aquaculture salmon for charged price! Aquaculture salmon is greasy and isn't to enjoy eating! We don't know whether shrimps aquaculture are or not as we didn't ask!

Definitely a highlight of the Saluhall - we were there in mid-May and six weeks later still talk about 'that meal

We had just arrived that afternoon and were walking around our hotel to look for an early dinner. The dining room is lovely but not too stuffy or formal. We ordered the brown bread for starters, along with some wine and beer. I ordered the Arctic char (parsnip, chili, hazelnuts, browned butter and a soy glaze) and Paul G. went with the meatballs (hand-rolled and with cream sauce, mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickled cucumber). We had the traditional Swedish meatball dish a few more times during the trip and they all came with the same components, but Bistro Bestick's was my fave. The sauce was heavier, velvety and creamy, and the potatoes were oh so fluffy. The berries were tart and fresh. I loved my fish, too... the hazelnuts, brown butter and soy were such a bright, unexpected combination. I enjoyed every bite. Don't sleep on dessert here! I couldn't even finish my dinner but still wanted to try the chocolate rum cake (salty caramel sauce, roasted peanuts, vanilla ice cream and crispy sesame) and what a delightful flavor explosion! It was beautifully presented and the sesame "cracker" on top was the perfect contrast to all the sweetness. I'd highly recommend BB!

We were hungry and just wanted a decent dinner prior to going out that night. Dining here was one of the best decisions during our time in Stockholm. The meatballs were absolutely amazing and one of the most memorable meals of my life. The presentation of the dishes was also impressive. We came here tired and left satisfied and ready to explore Stockholm nightlife. If you're in Stockholm, visit this restaurant and try the Swedish meatballs.

It is 18 degrees and my body says it is 4AM but I WANT THIS FOOD. I am really hoping today's selection will be swedish hash or this fish soup. Nope, but swedish meatballs and salmon will nicely fill our bellies. Your lunch comes with a small salad bar, bread, coffee, tea, lingonberry juice and I see cookies hiding. Grab your tableware here. The 5 Swedish meatballs came with mashed potatoes, pickled cucumbers, lingonberries, and brown gravy. A nice chunk of salmon came with baby potatoes, grilled asparagus and bernaise sauce. Both meals delicious.Hubby and i tend to share our meals so we each get to taste each other's. I dont think it is customary to leave a tip in Sweden but the machine asks if you want to leave one. I went with 10%. Total cost out the door for 2 delicious and filling meals was just under $40. That is $20 each for you non math people:) We will return. I am still on the hunt for that fish soup. The menu is posted outside. Those are your choices for the day which includes a vegetarian choice. Staff is very welcoming and speaks English. I HAVE BEEN COMING HERE FOR YEARS.
