I've been here twice and both times I wasn't disappointed. Being from San Diego I have come to love Mexican food, and having come here at both dinner and lunch time, it's easy to see that Stockholm does as well. This is, by far, the most authentic Mexican food I've had since living in Sweden. I've been to 8 different taco shops in Sweden and two in Denmark (Copenhagen specifically). This is where I would recommend people to come that want good Mexican food. The menu is clean and simple with a side menu for lunch. It's 100 sek for 5 tacos (110 if you get the steak), 45-55 for a large taco and the lunch menu is 98 sek for two large tacos, rice and a beverage. If you enjoy authentic Mexican food, do yourself a favor and stop at La Neta. read more

This is one of my favorite places in Stockholm. It's the place best replicating a genuine Mexican restaurant I've found in Stockholm so far. The food is prepared the same way, served the same way, even with decor resemling one. Which is telling by the name they've picked for themselves, La Neta, which is Mexican slang for 'the truth'. This is not fancy dining in anyway. Instead they seem to be relating to the origin of the taco, which was originally eaten by the working class and poor people. It's incredibly affordable in relation to what you're served. Being the only place providing this concept, la Neta could definitely be charging more, but I'm glad they keep it cheap and accessible to more people. Love it! read more

I absolutely adore this place! The founders are from Monterrey, Mexico, so although it may be modern and have a Swedish influence, I would say the food is authentic, if not traditional. They were tired of not being able to find good Mexican food in Stockholm, so they decided to start their own. They basically brought soft tortillas to Sweden, using machines imported directly from Mexico. Most of the staff are immigrants (largely Spanish-speaking), and although communication can be a bit tough at times (I usually speak Swenglish there), they are friendly and helpful. I usually opt for the lunch deal where you choose two types of tacos and get rice on the side. The rice is self-serve so you can have as much as you want, and the tacos are large and filling. The taco with chicken and pineapple is simply phenomenal, but I like all of the tacos I've tried so far! The lunch deal also includes a drink, but as they don't have anything non-carbonated, I usually have coffee instead. They have an espresso machine which isn't the best and you end up with a tiny amount of coffee, but hey, it's still good! This place can get pretty crowded at lunch time, but you can always find a seat, it may just be a bit loud. The decor is plain and sparse, but it grows on you. They added outdoor seating this year when the weather is nice, which is great. All in all, highly recommended - one of my favorite places near work for lunch! read more

Food did not impress me or my company at all. We all had mixed tacos and fajitas and it just tasted bland. The optional toppings were ok. Staff was not interested in making this a nice evening for us as they started to do their "closing cleaning" 45 minutes before the restaurant was closing. It's not nice to sit and enjoy a dinner when you can smell antibacterial spray from the table next to you. Or when it's difficult to hear a conversation when staff are flipping all chairs and putting them on the tables. Disappointing, would not go back. The food is great no doubt about it. What needs help is the salad bar with condiments. Went early on a Saturday evening. The salsas, onions, cilantro were all empty. Waited for them to filled and it was fine. Everything we ordered was good and as advertised. Recommend going so long as you know that not everything will be ready to go. read more

I was not expecting good Mexican food in Sweden. Surprisingly, these guys do a good job. The service is quick, the food is good. I got the Taco al Pastor. While the meat's consistency lacked the unctuous delicacy of a 5 star Mexican ectasy taco, this is a solid mexican experience. read more

La Neta finally opened for lunch on Söder (currently working out the last kinks before they start doing normal opening hours). It's a lot bigger than the original, and it's fairly close to both Slussen and Medborgarplatsen subway stations. The menu is currently their normal one, with tacos, quesadillas and sides. Help yourself to endless amounts of coriander, onions and salsa, and hope more places with equally fresh food open near Slussen. read more

The serve street tacos and regular tacos. I like that you can mix the 5 street tacos. The marinated beef are the best! I like the salsa bar but they ran out of chips when we were there... :( I would've loved to try the chips and guacamole. As of April 2015, this is the only thing even resembling Mexican food in Stockholm and perhaps Sweden. I would not call it authentic since I've never seen potatoes or pineapple on a taco in California or Mexico. They have decent salsa in a serve yourself format which I love. read more

Overhyped place, although the price for each dish seems reasonable at first, the size of them quickly explains why. The food came quickly, but they messed up our order and gave us the wrong tacos. Was hoping for something more spicy and with rich flavour, but the tacos and quesadillas were disappointingly bland. As someone who has lived in central Texas & northern California, I was ecstatic to see a taqueria in Södermalm that wasn't the lame hard shell plus brown sauce ground beef thing that people mistakenly call tacos. I had the pastor, bistec and suadero, all of which were quite good. They serve using corn tortillas. They have a bar with the mandatory onions & cilantro, along with 3 salsas one spicy rojo (the best), a mild rojo, and a mild verde. They're tacos in stockholm that are totally legit and they have a nice selection of meat styles like the above plus campechana and even turkey. It's about $3.25 per taco, note they are adequate but not large portions, 3 is a good place to start if you're hungry and the deal for 5 isn't bad if you've got an appetite. Of course it's not as good as my favorite tacos in texas, but actually on par with a lot solid taquerias one would find in CA or TX. Will be back soon to try their other read more
