If it had been a 3-star hotel, I would be rating it 4 stars here, but the expectations were just a little too high for the delivery. The outside of the building looks great, and the lobby is small but modern. However, the corridors are institutional, and the rooms themselves have average furnishings. Little things that I can individually let go piled up in my impression: a dark stain on a towel one day; several small spots in the carpeting; an odd smell of sulfur from the housekeeping room across the hall; noise from the restaurant dumping their glass bottles in the middle of the night on weeknights. Breakfast was delicious with many hot and continental items, and its setup in the restaurant was great.

The hotel has a very nice exterior and lobby but the rest of the hotel does not really meet the same standard. The lifts are tiny and the corridors are long but I would assume that some it is because the hotel is in an old building. The rooms are small, but that is often fairly standard in Stockholm (as well as other European cities). There was room for a double bed, a very small desk and two chairs. They also managed to fit an ironing board into the wardrobe so the space was used in an efficient manner. The room and furniture felt a bit on the old side but still functional and most importantly it felt clean. The bathroom was also small but they managed to squeeze in a bathtub. I had a good sleep 3 out of 4 nights at this hotel. Normally I am not bothered by noise but on the night between Saturday and Sunday there was a lot of noise from the bar/restaurant at the ground level so it was a bit difficult to sleep. The breakfast at the hotel was slightly above standard for a Swedish hotel. They could however do with some variety. I stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast was exactly the same every single day -a bit boring. Service was OK, they had some issues with the Internet access codes but it was solved. Could have been quicker from a service perspective but they were always polite and friendly. Overall a good and solid choice for those who wish to be in the middle of the city.

The rooms are really cosy, with amazing beds and a good 20 sq. I guess. There are single or double beds with shower or bath. It's a modern design with flat TVs on the wall and media connections for you're computer etc. The remotes are extremely slow if there's anything to complain about lol. We had a room (724) with a bloodstain on the sheets, so we called the reception and got a new room and a voucher for "Sturebadet Spa" for two. In our new room we wanted to take a bath but the plug was missing so again we called the reception who sent one up within minutes. The breakfast was also great with anything you could think off. But the staff did not speak either Swedish or English for some reason and they were a bit slow to refill and clean the tables. But they had a fabulous waffle-machine which did the most lovely waffles. The surroundings are excellent just by the water and you can easy get a boat to Slussen in like 10mins. But check the schedule first, it's like one every 50mins or something. When we were leaving they even asked how out r stay was and if we had a nice time. Now for the bad part, which probably don't have that much to do with the actual hotel. The Spa Sturebadet was really bad. + good looking pool + hammam - cosy, silent, hot and really lift your sprit :) - the jacuzzi worked for 10mins, then it was silent while cleaning for 10mins. It was dirty and they missed cleaning it the day before. - they offered complementary flat water and something with a little sparkle to it. No signs which was what. No juices, tea or coffee. -the floor was so slippery in the shower area and changing rooms when the floor was wet even with the hotel slippers. Take care!!! - if you pay for the spa entrance you don't get access to the hammam if you don't pay extra. Then it's another 100kr additional. - pool, jacuzzi and a little sauna is all that is included. -only two showers available when you've exited through the dressing rooms. -sauna only fit like 6ppl and it's not possible to throw any water on it to raise the temp. -the desk lady was really grumpy when we came and left. Don't waste your money here except if it's included in the rooms. The grade for the hotel is 4 and the spa a 2. Will stay in the hotel again, but not going to the spa again.

They have room service and a restraint in the lobby area. With a full bar ! Looked nice but I never made it there. Service was great. Friendly front desk, they gave me all the info I needed being my first time in Stockholm. Clean, safe and great location are my requirements for any hotel. This checked all the boxes . The croissants are fresh and served with strawberry jam and orange marmalade. Eggs, European style sausage, beans, bacon. Yogurt with different toppings like granola, etc. They offer ginger shots for immunity. Yum yum. Coffee options are spot on. They also have juice for the kids. Keycard provided needed to get up elevators which is a good security measure. This hotel has a sauna and workout floor at the penthouse on 15th with great views of the ski slope. Room has wide window to look out from. Water pressure is fantastic for the shower and shower gel provided. A yelper commented about no toilet paper, but maybe staff just forgot about it that time. Tea and coffee making facility with a kettle. Tap water is drinkable! Room has a safe and heating temp is perfect this cold Feb night.

I know not everyone would appreciate that, but I really enjoyed it. Our continental breakfasts pale in comparison to this hotel breakfast. You really don't need to go anywhere else when there is so much available - rolls and French bread, cheeses, meats, pastries, crepes, fruit, sausage, baked beans, eggs, and plenty of juice and beverage options. The only things I would change would be to add A/C (because Americans are spoiled by it) and a shower door that closes. Otherwise half of the bathroom is wet when you're done. Still, if I'm ever lucky enough to go back, I'd definitely stay here again.

The tram stops in the center traffic island steps from the front door of the hotel! With one stop on tram, I had access to several metro lines to venture around the city very easily. I plan to eat breakfast away from the hotel on tomorrow, but I will try the breakfast before my stay ends. Breakfast is only 125 SEK (about $12.50 at the time of this review) if you book on a platform such as Expedia that offers a rate without breakfast. It is only my first night, but I am impressed and I recommend this establishment so long as having a refrigerator is not a deal-breaker for you.
