They were responsive, quoted us fairly, on time, professional and lead with integrity. Last fall when we received the quote, we had some other repairs on the house that needed to be completed first. Davco told us what we could do in the meantime to tide us over, which they were under no obligation to do. Their suggestions worked AND when we reached out to them last month to say we were ready to start our chimney and foundation work, not only did they honor the quote, they had us booked on the calendar within a week. The masonry work they did on our house looks beautiful and they're even coming back to complete the last couple of spots after National Grid wraps our power lines. I can't say enough about this company. We will always use and recommend them.

On 4/24/25 I contracted with Davco to have a cement sidewalk connecting the existing east side…read moresidewalk around the back of the home to a existing patio then from the patio up the west side of the home connecting to the existing front sidewalk. The contract stated 98LF,5"wide, and 6" deep as discussed.the price of the job was 8,400.00 which was paid in cash 50% to start, 25% after removal of forms and 25% upon completion. The job was started approximately June 10th, by mid August the cement was pitting, a crack formed where the sidewalk meets the patio, no backfill was placed and cement on the garage and house.Dave was contacted and did send a worker to clean but nothing else was addressed. Two other workers stopped by and stated the job was not done correctly there is a heaved, and the crack was a combination of no rebar and excavation was not done properly. Fast forward to April 2026,after the winter there is a second crack on the east side connecting to the existing front sidewalk. My husband contacted Dave via email stated the job is not complete no backfill still and two cracks now. Dave set a worker to backfill and stopped himself where he had a conversation with my husband about the cracks and in his mind the job was completed and offered no reason for the cracks. I have left 2 voice messages May/June No response! The ironic piece of this story the supervisor of this job stopped by August 2025 on his own to make the necessary corrections to the job. Unbeknown to us he had been fired from Davco 2025 based on two botched jobs one being a garage as told to us by an employee. All I want is what I paid for and a little customer service goes a long way. The owner could care less if a customer is pleased. He tries to bully people by his attitude and belligerent manners. Made a complaint to the BBB which he has not responded to. I would not recommend him or his company to a dead man!

From the initial consultation, Tom (sales) was knowledgeable, straightforward, and easy to work with. He walked us through the entire process, explained our options clearly, and never made us feel pressured. We ultimately decided to go with GAF Timberline shingles along with the Golden Pledge Warranty, which gave us a lot of confidence in the long-term quality and protection of the roof. Paulo, the owner, runs a tight operation. It's clear he takes pride in his work and his crew. The installation itself was efficient, clean, and very well organized. The team showed up on time, worked hard throughout the day, and made sure everything was done right. You can tell they're experienced and not cutting corners. Linda in the office handled scheduling and communication, and she was great to deal with. They charged me over $500 to put a few drops of caulking on top of already existing screws (picture attached.) Sure enough, the roof leaked again, this time I climbed on the roof to see what has been done. That is when I discovered that all they did was to place single drops of Caulking on top of already existing screws. I hired another roofer and had the skylight sealed and the leak stopped, even with the recent heavy rain. This new roofer charged me only $350 for the work. My mistake was that I trusted Star Roofing's words, and did not go up on the roof to check the work myself. Lesson learned! The awful thing is that not only I would never trust this company ever again, but now I can't trust other good workers who actually do what they charge a costumer for. Yes, unfortunately one BAD APPLE, ruins the whole box.

They used satellite images to determine the repair and their assessment is that you need to replace it. Please check the reviews on Reddit for more honest reviews about this company. In addition their communication is slow, their phone is never answered and they don't call you back to discuss details or answer questions or explain anything. Edit after their response: While they say they came to the property, they never did. They gave us a quote from satellite photos and never even saw the rain damages which was the reason I reached out in the first place. When they said they couldn't reach the tenant, I immediately provided them with the photos and videos I had. The tenant also called them to follow up and was informed that nothing else was needed. Yet I had to email again days later to ask if the quote was ready. I emailed asking for someone to discuss / explain the quote to me and got a response asking for a time to call. I shared my availability and have not received any calls. I tried calling them yet there was no answer. Finally 2 weeks later we had to call another contractor come and take photos of all the rain damage and provide a proper quote. Then when I shared this review the owner immediately called me. I've attached the communication that started on the 8th of July. I would like them to provide me with the images and proof/report from the onside inspection they did. They are lying, as they never stepped foot on my property to see and assess the damages.

We recently had our roof and three skylights replaced by Phelps Brothers, and they were - in a word…read more- excellent. Jamie was efficient and responsive with the initial estimate and follow-up questions we had and promptly provided us with both samples and addresses of customers where we could check out their work. Within a half-hour of starting work on "day 1," the workers realized our roof was one of a rare 2% of roofs built in a particularly solid way "back when," but one that would make the roof replacement work more challenging. The project director, Tony, consulted with Phelps Brothers' owner, and within minutes they agreed to proceed as originally planned. This initial roadblock was handled in a transparent manner and quickly resolved. The work was done quickly and efficiently over two days, with a special focus on not damaging flower beds all around the house (the job was done in mid-April, so a lot of new growth, none of which was damaged!). On the back of our furnace chimney, Phelps built a cricket, or diverter, to lessen the impact of rain on the actual brick. This was done because it was needed, not because we had requested it, and it wasn't included in the original, approved estimate. Just an example of Phelps Brothers going above and beyond to provide high-quality work. Tony was a real pleasure to work with - pleasant to deal with, super patient and direct with answering our questions. He even came back weeks later to patch/glue a bluestone chip that had been slightly damaged. Now that's service! His team of roofers were super hard-working and friendly. All in all, every person we dealt with at Phelps Brothers was friendly and professional. Our roof looks great; a real upgrade to our home. We would enthusiastically use them again and would recommend Phelps Brothers for any roofing needs.
