Avoid this plumber at all costs…read more What turned out to be a very simple repair--replacing heating elements and a thermostat--was deliberately blown up into an absurd, fear-based sales pitch. I was quoted nearly $10,000 for unnecessary pipe replacements, a new water heater, and other "issues" that magically disappeared once I got a second opinion. On top of that, I was quoted almost $900 just to replace the heating element and thermostat alone. Another plumber fixed the entire problem correctly, safely, and professionally for $100. This was not a mistake or a difference of opinion--it felt intentionally misleading and predatory. This kind of pricing and upselling preys on homeowners who don't know better. Get a second opinion immediately if you're quoted anything by this company. In my experience, this crossed the line into scam territory.

He asked great questions, looked at all possible places and issues that might be causing it and explained his thinking every step of the way. I now see how plumbing problems can be so complex and mysterious! He gave me honest and fair estimates for doing further tests to determine the cause of the problem, without any pressure at all. Oh, and Katt and Arlene were awesome in setting up an appointment quickly; both were so helpful and cheerful. Added bonus-- these are my kind of people; people who not only love their jobs but also love our animals...this month in lieu of a service charge they are collecting a $35 donation to Asheville Humane Society. How cool is that?!!

He serviced the unit ($607) and thought it was fixed. It was not. Philip would not contact customer service for 'insight and solutions' he may not have been aware of - nor did he take the time to download the manual. I reached out to him multiple times and he had one excuse after another. Having only intermittent hot water the last couple weeks I've owned several homes, and investment properties, and never run across a plumber or HVAC firm that couldn't diagnose or solve the problem, or at least offer to refund my $$$ (or portion thereof). To their credit, they refunded that amount after I brought it to their attention but I think they did it because they were CAUGHT. However, the same technician also quoted me ~$8,000.00 to replace my well pump. I just had it replaced by another company for right at $4,000.00 -- exactly HALF the price. They quoted me DOUBLE what it actually costs. When I reported the overcharge, I was told the technician would be written up. He was only written up because he got CAUGHT. I have no doubt this kind of pricing is widespread across this company. Do NOT use All About Plumbing. I'll also be saving documentation of all of this. Just know that these things get out, and sometimes companies get sued out of business for STEALING from people.
