READ COMPLETELY BEFORE USING SKOVRON Mechanical Services, LLC…read more I called Skovron because my walk-in freezer was not cooling. When they arrived, the condenser was short cycling so they added 1.5 lbs of R404A (refrigerant). They told me that the refrigerant may leak out again. They cleaned the condenser coil. The charge for this visit was $397.13. A week later, the walk-in freezer is warm again. So, I called Skovron again. This is the description of their second visit in a week per their invoice for another $543.35 and 3.5 hours later: "Service call for WIF(walk-in freezer) running warm again. Unit was short cycling when I arrived. Charge was low 1.00 again from previous visit . I topped it off and tried to locate leak with refrigerant pressure but did not locate definite leak. Full leak check will need to be done in order to locate leak. Also found that there is a restriction at TXV . Txv was icing up. Explained to customer that because of the location of the condenser that a full leak check will be needed but will involve more to do so. Recommend replacement of unit or at least relocate condenser for easier access. Will quote to both replace or repair." End of quote. Shortly after, I received the quotes from Skovron. The estimate for leak check and repair for $2,965.75 and estimate for complete unit replacement of $13,129.79. I expressed to them my frustration with their lack of repair service and demanded a full refund for their second visit where no repairs were done; THEY ABSOLUTELY REFUSED. The technician stayed for 3.5 hours gathering information to write up his quotes. We did not reach an agreement and they retained an attorney to persuade me to not write a negative review... After the fiasco with Skovron, I hired a different company, and the problem was fixed in 2.5 hours later for $608. The new company found the leak, soldered the connection at the king valve, resoldered joint and adjusted the expansive valve. I will pursue getting refunded for my hard end money in small claims court...

Why wouldn't you let me love you! I tried and I tried but you've pushed me away!…read more When we moved to NH I reached out to have our heating serviced. It took 3 attempts but they finally got back to me and set me up with an appointment. Come the day of my appointment I wait and wait and wait. They never show up. I call them to follow up and they "accidentally scheduled the appointment on the wrong day". Fast forward to summer and I want my AC serviced! I say hey, let me give this company another chance maybe I caught them during a bad period before. I call and speak to a man who states Vicky will call me back as soon as she gets in the office that day. But yet it's been a week and I haven't heard back. Dealing with this company is ridiculous and like having teeth pulled. Called a different company today who was able to book me an appointment immediately and painlessly! Maybe Vicky quit? Maybe there's a serious internal communication problem? Maybe they forgot to pay their phone bill? Maybe they just hate my voice! I'll never know because I'll never call again!

One shop had closed but recommended Ed's Appliance Service, where the technician had over 40 years experience. He was able to visit the next day. The GE service shop said I would have to wait about 4 days. In the meantime, I was able to move the food to other people's freezers. Ed said the compressor was probably starting to fail due to age and it would be too expensive to repair. It also looked like there might be ice blockage. He told me to unplug it and leave it open for a few days. After I powered it back up and put some cups of water on each shelf, in a little over a day every cup was frozen. So can start using it again. Yay! In the meantime I purchased a new unit, which took a a bit of research and phone calling. It seemed that many people freaked out when the Wuhan Virus hit and bought up all the refrigerators and freezers. They were probably afraid of shopping and bought new units so they could maybe hoard food and limit their trips to the stores. None of the big box stores had anything in stock. The sales rep. at Baron's Appliances in Concord listed the Frigidaire unit I wanted, but he said the manufacturers were quoting end of August delivery dates! That was the only store that offered to help me out. So here is hoping my old freezer holds out until then.

First suggestion, please list certain brands on your repair page that you do not fix. It would have saved both of us time. So, I ask for a recommendation for a business in the area who repairs LG. (As a side note, I operate a small mom & pop operation and if I cannot help a customer, I will tell them where they can find what they need. I find that this helpfulness brings them back to me.) The guy on the phone tells me that "No one does. LG's are very tough to work on and their parts are hard to find." It turns out that that was an outright lie. I called "Mr. Appliance" next. They informed me that they could help. They even emailed me a confirmation of the appointment and included a photo of their technician so that I would know beforehand who would be in my home. They sent a guy out to my house, he listened to my machine and then diagnosed it and had it fixed in just about 20 minutes. They accepted cash/checks/credit cards right on the spot. They then proceeded to email me a receipt and one day later, another email to thank me again and check on how the washing machine was. Because in this on particular instance Glen's chose not to help in any capacity, I would never personally purchase anything from them and I will continue to let others know how unprofessional that business is. Choose Mr. Appliance; I did. http://www.mrappliance.com/services/residential/
