If you're interested in booking this spot, make sure you book well in advance since their available dates fill up very quickly. The open-warehouse concept is perfect for any kind of event. The space itself is about 9,000 feet, has got white walls, plenty of windows and doors, large wooden pillars and string lights hanging at the center of the space. Other than that, you had to use your creativity to design the space. They also have renovated men's and women's bathrooms, a storage closet to hide boxes and such, and a serving area if you're bringing in caterers. With its convenient location and beautiful features, The Pipe Shop is really a perfect spot to host your next event or wedding. Excited to host another event here in the future.

There were about 10 tables in the room. So, not a tiny intimate wedding celebration but not a super large one either compared to pretty much most other weddings I've been to in my life which probably had 2 - 3 times as many tables in the room. There was a 6pm reception and then dinner at 7pm. At the reception, servers were walking around handing out hors d'oeuvres to the guests. Service was kinda "meh." We were standing around in a corner and saw one of the servers walk up to some other people and serve them some hors d'oeuvres, inches away from us but then they turned and walked off in another direction without actually approaching our own group to offer us some hors d'oeuvres. That was kinda weird. I ended up wandering off into the dining room and grabbing an hors d'oeuvres for myself when I saw another server with a different tray of hors d'oeuvres on it. Other than the one server who spun on their heels without offering anything to us, service from everyone else was pretty decent. I think there were about 4 different hors d'oeuvres. Two of them had meat in them so I couldn't eat those. The other two had seafood in them, which I still eat being pescatarian so I was able to enjoy those. One was a prawn tempura and the other was a crab cake. Loved the crab cake! The bar had 4 different Mocktails available. My daughter and I both ordered something called a Stingray which consisted of pineapple juice, orange juice and soda. It wasn't bad but we both decided that we prefer the taste of a Shirley Temple over a Stingray. Dinner was buffet style. Lots of different options for various dietary restrictions. The food was very good. Especially the Sablefish. Oh wow...soooo tender. I couldn't resist going back for seconds! I try to eat seafood sparingly and veer more towards Vegetarian/ Vegan most of the time but this was one of those times when being Pescatarian is really a lot more fun than being Vegetarian! The rear room especially looks like something that can be used in a movie. The catering here is top notch. Probably some of the best steak and prawns I've had in recent memory. It was so beautiful. Most banquet halls have mediocre buffet food, but this is not one of them. Special mention. Definitely recommended if one needs a venue for a special event.

There is a hall inside but again its so run down that I don't think people really rent it. But I guess people who actually come here are part of the Associations near by. And mostly old aged people (but again even my Grandparents have no interest in this place).

We would have liked to try the dumplings and mango pudding stands in the courtyard but since we paid $4.50 for parking for 2 hours, were had too much time left to kill before the show started. We ultimately decided to leave to eat at Bao Bei nearby then headed back home to grab lawn chairs and something warmer to wear before coming back. Brought our own chair to the movie because we knew by the time we came back there would not be enough seats based on the turnout. We got great seats and did splurge to try one bag of "Asian Flavoured popcorn" each right as the movie was starting which only cost $3/bag but was worth it... it was (shoyu flavour?) popcorn with a pleasant surprise twist of crispy rice crackers in the mix. Very peaceful experience. Meditation Park movie had us crying and laughing. It doesn't appear to be on the Canadian Netflix (maybe American) so if you can stream this movie somewhere I recommend it.

The pictures don't lie - there are big red velvet drapes, chandeliers and exotic Moorish/Morroccan touches like columns and murals. Just a damn cool theatre to see a show in, and I've now been to a few, from burlesque shows to my comedy idols like Bruce McCulloch. Upstairs in the smaller, and less lavishly appointed room, is Lafflines, which is a great spot to see up and coming comedians while having a few glasses of sorrow-drowning liquids and a basket of chicken strips. Both upstairs and downstairs have the same basic menu, so if you can deal with Sleemans and nachos, you're laughing. The wine list is OK, and for girl-drink drunks, they've got some sweet throwback martinis. The servers are really nice, but there never seem to be enough of them, so be decisive when they come around, because they might not get back around to you for a while! I've noticed that for some of the shows in the theatre, they'll have maybe two or three working the entire venue. Upstairs, one or two depending on the night (I tend to go on Thursdays for amateur night, so it's not usually very full).
