I will…read moretry to keep the review concise - but this experience has taught me the value of reaching out and trusting a public adjuster when dealing with a substantial insurance claim. Our 2 family in Park Slope suffered substantial water damage after freezing temperatures caused an uninsulated water pipe along an external wall to freeze and burst. We documented the damage with videos and photos and various receipts. Our insurance company first tried to dissuade me from filing the claim. They later did make an offer after inspections etc. However, after consulting with David we trusted him to manage the communications and negotiations. I sent him all my photos and receipts and was able to limit the time, worry, stress and interaction with our insurance company. And we ended up with approximately triple the amount that they initially offered us. The fee that we paid Rubin & Rosen was money well spent. Also, the renovation work took much longer than expected. We had a delay of 7 months waiting for DOB approval for the work in our home. The water damage led us to discover the home's wooden beam foundation needed to be removed and replaced with poured concrete foundation, etc. The insurance claim is usually paid out and liquidated within a 12 month period but with the DOB permit delay, the delay in construction because of stop work orders during Covid 19 in NY in 2020, and issues during construction, it took us over 12 months. David helped us throughout! He made sure we were able to claim the full amount. Also, his calm and rational approach to the property damage and managing the insurance claim turned a nightmare into something manageable. I had also received help and support from his colleague Beth -- I highly recommend their firm and these specific professionals!

Yelp review for Dave…read more In this day and age having insurance is a necessity, whether it's medical, auto, home, life insurance, etc., and one rarely gives it much thought beyond that. The expectation is generally that as long as one has insurance coverage, then you and/or your property are protected. And that is exactly how we viewed it, right up to the day that we actually needed to use our property insurance. That's when we realized just how convoluted the entire claims process can be. That unfortunate day came to our family one February morning when our house caught fire due to an accidental electrical shortage, the flames having engulfed not only our personal belongings, but also destroying significant portions of our long-lived home. We were, however, fortunate that no one in our family was harmed and that within 15 minutes the local firefighters were able to quickly control the fire. However, as it dawned on us that our home was covered in soot, drenched with water, and suffering from significant structural damage, feelings of loss and confusion began to overwhelm us. To say the least, we had no idea how to proceed over the coming days with beginning the process of restoration. This is when Dave from Rubin & Rosen Adjusters introduced himself and quickly became our guiding light through the entire claims process. His calm, professional, and confident demeanor provided much needed comfort and clarity during a time of immense confusion. He concisely explained his role in navigating the world of insurance claims and how we could most effectively determine the extent of the insurance company's liability. Things didn't always make sense at the time, but it was clear from the outset that this was someone who was actually on OUR side, representing us and our needs to the best of his abilities as we sought to reap the maximum benefits provided by the insurance that we had been diligently paying for over the years. During Dave's investigation, he helped us discover the reach and associating limits of our existing insurance coverage. Upon receiving an estimate for the damages from our insurance company, our immediate thoughts gravitated to why the number appeared so low, in our opinion. But thanks to Dave's expertise, he knew exactly how to probe the damages estimate and fight to get us the full claims benefits that we were entitled to. He was with us every step of the way, personally handling all claims matters, and would even drop by to visit us to ensure that things were proceeding smoothly. Now even more than a year later, Dave continues to speak on our behalf with continuing claims and support us every step of the way. Dave and his entire team have our utmost gratitude for their ongoing support, and it is our pleasure to recommend them to anyone who needs help navigating the murky waters of the insurance claims process and reaching a fair and equitable settlement.

We hired UPA by accident at first. We were cold called by Anthony and originally thought he was from a different company during the post-fire chaos at no fault of his own. However once we figured out what happened, we checked references and reviews, and hired UPA over the other firm, mostly due to Anthony's calm demeanor and industry knowledge. Anthony, Mike, and the rest of the team was like having a best friend holding our hand throughout the insurance process. Mike had answers for every question in addition to answers for questions we didn't know we needed to ask. He worked directly with our insurance company taking one less task off our list and got us almost double what they originally offered. Tragedies happen, don't go through the experience alone!

Exceeded and over estimated my losses to the point the insurance company offered a really low number for the "rebuild" of my property. I am now going into debt with the builder & UPA is demanding payment while I'm in this state. They do not look out for the insurer - they lied about their promptness - and if the claim is at a standstill - they they want the insurer to pay for appraisal costs plus someone to mediate the appraisal. I am at the point of feeling like I've been scammed. My stress level is at its max - To make matters worse - they are not letting me out of my contract - even though I'm offering payment of most invoices. A nightmare for sure. Do your research prior and don't trust their words prior to signing the contract.

However, one of our customers, referred us to a public adjuster, Brian Evans, of Eastern Public Property claim and Risk Management. Brian walked us through our policy and explained to us in details what is covered and how to approach the insurance company. We discovered that we were under insured and to rebuild our restaurant, we need double what our policy would pay out. Fortunately, with Brian's help, we managed to squeeze an additional 50% more from insurance; which reduces the amount by thousands of dollars to rebuild! Brian also offered to help analyze the insurance coverage for our other stores so we will not be caught under insured again - for Free. What great service!! We will use Brian and Eastern Public if something unfortunate happened to us again and we whole heartedly will recommend this company.

I was able to ask questions and learned a lot more, which helped me make a decision the following day on how to move forward.

Unlike other adjusters they were not pushy and made us feel very comfortable with choosing them to handle our claim. From start to end they were there to answer any questions I had (believe me I kept calling cause I had a lot of questions) never showed any signs of frustration and always stayed on top of my claim. Gary made sure he contacted me on a daily basis to keep me in the loop of what was going on. Darwin was also very helpful and when I got fustrated with how long it was taking to handle this claim he took the lead to make sure everything moved ahead. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is in need.

I was devastated and had no idea what to do. But then someone suggested I get a Public Adjuster and it was the best decision I ever made. As a young single woman, it's easy for all the men in the business (construction workers, mold motivators, insurance agents, moving companies) to try to take advantage with false promises, crazy estimates and bad material choices, but what could have been an overwhelming process was made incredibly simple with Joe on my side. He connected to me to HOMESOURCE and they were able to find me a rental and furniture while my home was being fixed and fought for me to get an extension when my insurance was refusing to pay for another month for my rental when the construction work ran long (which it always does). Finally moving back into my home was easier than expected as the movers Joe recommended our everything back into place down to precision detail (they even took the time to put all the magnets back on my fridge based on pictures they had taken). I will forever be grateful to Joe and would tell anyone in an unfortunate circumstance, whether it be a flood, fire or other natural disaster or even burglary to give these guys a call. They are professionals, but more importantly they are gentlemen and humans.

Every phone call felt like I was speaking a different language and I had no idea what was actually covered versus what I was being told. Finding NYTDR completely changed that experience for me. What I appreciated most was that they approached the situation like people who actually understand how stressful it is to have your home disrupted, not just like another construction job. They caught things in the kitchen that I would've never thought to document for the claim and explained the process in a way that actually made sense. There were multiple moments where I probably would've accepted less from insurance if they hadn't stepped in. The kitchen now looks better than it did before the damage happened, but honestly the biggest value was having people who knew how to navigate both the restoration side and the insurance side at the same time. That combination is rare. Most companies either know construction or know claims. NYTDR seemed to understand both equally well, which made the entire process way smoother than I expected.

In my research, the consistent high ratings in NYTDR reviews was unique. Now, my own experience confirms these exceptional reports. I contacted NYTDR on behalf of my age 88 partner after a fire in his kitchen left that room in bad shape and everything in his small apartment covered with soot. State Farm had assigned a company to help us clear the apartment, and we had met with a representative of a State Farm construction contractor. I decided to do some research and found NYTDR. I wish I had engaged them from the start. Michael, the NYTDR construction manager, worked tenaciously for five months to get a reasonable payout from State Farm. Michael's skill and knowledge achieved a result that was way beyond what we could have done based on our naive understanding. Through it all, as the months of following up with State Farm dragged on, Michael was a reassuring cheerleader. NYTDR gave us an incredible price that includes everything. On top of skill and commitment to clients, we feel that this company is amazingly generous. Today, we met with Michael and some of the NYKB staff to move forward on the renovations. It was a wonderful experience. We were impressed by not only the professionalism of each person we met but even more by the light in their faces, the pride and pleasure that they experience in helping clients like us, clients whose homes and lives have been seriously disrupted. My age 88 friend has been out of his home of 50 years for 10 months. When we left the NYKB experience today, I think I saw the sparkle of his old optimism and humor.
