On a random Tuesday it stretched down the street long before the door opened. I waited twenty five minutes at four in the afternoon for a seat inside. No to go orders, no doggy bags. You eat what you order and leave behind your self respect. The dining room is packed tighter than a turtle's pecker. A dozen staff members move around each other like bees tending the hive, the rhythm wild and relentless. The tacos themselves are intimidatingly large, the vibe unlike anything I have ever seen. Come for the al pastor, and come hungry. If you cannot finish, no option exists but to weep over the abandoned morsels.

A pretty broad menu, but lots and lots of small plates, in addition to an equal number of entrees. Our party had drinks, plenty of drinks. And an assortment of appetizers: Grilled Steak and pork belly sopes, quesadillas, tacos.... Every bite was a delight. One person in our party ordered the lasagna. That seemed kind of risky: Italian food in a "Mexican" restaurant? But -- WOW. It was so tasty! Not a traditional Italian lasagna, but so many deep, rich flavors. Really tasty. Dessert was a chocolate cake that our table literally could not finish. It was so huge and so rich. Not overly sweet, but very deep chocolate flavors, brought out by the excellent coffee. We ordered the bbq for 2. It was a plate with some of everything(beef, ribs, chicken, pork and sausage) and cactus, grilled onions, beans, tortillas and a couple of small quesadillas on the side. Our server spoke excellent English and the place was very comfortable. They have a nice area for kids. If you want to come during the day and have them hang out there while they're waiting for their food. I got the barbecue sauce which is a side that you have to ask for and it was very tasty We really enjoyed this place. It felt more authentic and more local than most of the places we normally go to in the South part of the town on the coast. It was about a third less expensive.

For mains, I had the chicken fajitas, which came with additional guacamole, rice, and beans in a build-your-own style.
