I loved the posts but knew it was impractical to keep the bed due its size so imagine how happy I was to hear about Monticello Antiques. Irene and Dave were able to enlarge the bed so it can accommodate a queen mattress, which is what I wanted in the guest room. They worked with me to design the headboard so it would be taller and more updated than the original and Dave fixed the posts where additional carving was needed. It just turned out beautifully. I couldn't be more pleased. You cannot buy the craftsmanship of this bed in today's world. Thank you, Irene and Dave for the love and care you gave to my grandmother's bed. It is lovely!

There are tons of vendors here - in front of Waterside they're easy to see but there are more inside and on the back area by the water so be sure to walk through the building (a few were set up inside in back by the doors) and onto the sidewalk outside where there were easily another 10-15 tents. There is a lot of vintage/flea market clothing but there are also vendors selling their crafts like wood cutting boards, stones and crystals, bags, soaps and candles, etc. We had a good time and everyone was very friendly.

Chandeliers ranged from $1500-5000 depending on the size and there were large statement pieces as well as small things like punch bowls and cups. If you love to antique this is a great stop - with high-end items. Worth a look.

This shop is absolutely fabulous! I've been to Antique shops all over the country and this one is by far the best! They have a large collection and affordable prices with antiques from as far back as the 16th century! I would definitely rate 10 stars if I could. Huge selection, knowledgable staff and these folks have a great eye for detail and customer needs. I was looking for some specific items but the selection forced me to spend the day here, looking over all the amazing finds. My lamps, table and rugs are the perfect accents to my project. You have to knock and be buzzed in and you'll find it very small but loaded neatly with items and display cases. The guy behind the counter was nice and welcoming and left us to ourselves to browse. It's a single room so you can't get lost but they have an eclectic mix of everything from decor, books, jewelry, furniture and silver to keep you occupied. Items in here are high quality so the prices reflect that. A large floor mirror by the door was $3200, a giant wooden statement grandfather clock was $12,000+, etc. So it's a great place for a statement estate piece or for silver because the back wall had loads of beautiful silver sets and teaspoons and dinnerware and table settings. A beautiful shop. Worth a stop if you're in the area for sure. Directly across from the gorgeous Catholic Church.
