I've been going to this hobby store since the 1980s when I was just a kid, going there with my late father. It was one of those places that helped build a lifelong love for RC cars and the hobby itself. Now, decades later, I genuinely enjoy taking my own children there and sharing that same experience with them. It's something really special to me and my family. That's why this situation has been so hard. I dropped off an RC truck for repair and expected it might take some time. What I didn't expect was how long it actually took -- months and months passed while I waited. Eventually, when I called to check on it, I was told the truck had already been surrendered after 90 days. That news was absolutely heartbreaking. This wasn't just a piece of equipment to me. It was something I had invested a lot into and something tied to years of enjoyment in this hobby. I understand that businesses have policies, and I don't doubt they have rules in place, but learning about it only after the fact made the loss feel even worse. What makes this especially difficult is that I truly love this store. It's been part of my life story from childhood to now as a parent. I honestly can't imagine not going there anymore, and that's what makes this situation so emotionally complicated for me. I'm not posting this to attack anyone. I'm just really torn and hurt by how this played out, and I wish there had been more communication before it reached that point.

I dropped the truck off for repair, and while I understood repairs can sometimes take a while, the process took a very long time. Eventually, I received one phone call letting me know the repair had been completed. Unfortunately, after 90 days of not picking it up, I later learned that the truck had been surrendered. What's hardest for me to understand is that I never received a second phone call, voicemail, warning, or any kind of notice that my truck was about to be surrendered. Not one. What makes this especially frustrating is that over the years I've received numerous phone calls from the store over much smaller things -- special-ordered parts, minor items, and other routine pickups. So it's difficult for me to understand why there wasn't more effort made to contact me over something worth nearly $2,000 and carrying so much personal value. This hobby store means a lot to me personally. My late father used to take me there when I was younger, and some of my best memories with him came from spending time there together. These days, I love bringing my own two children there and sharing the same hobby with them. That's why this situation feels so devastating. It wasn't just an RC truck to me. It represented years of memories, time, money, and something meaningful I shared across generations of my family. I understand businesses have policies, and I'm not trying to attack anyone personally. I just truly wish more effort had been made before permanently surrendering something that clearly meant so much to a longtime customer. I still hope there's some way this situation can be made right.

I would take your business elsewhere and recommend to never shop at this establishment. If you do, approach with caution and prepare for uninviting and extremely disrespectful staff. I've been to Fantasy Flight many times and I always have a great time Want to play board games?…read moreThis place is perfect. Even if you don't have your own, they have an entire wall of free-to-use board games like Cards Against Humanity, Settlers of Catan, Munchkin and many more. Looking to play a table-top RPG like D&D or Warhammer? The entire back section of the building is dedicated to you. But, be sure to check ahead of time because they have frequent tournaments, like what was happening the night I visited, and so you cannot use the back space. Don't be discouraged, though, there are a few tables set in the front of the store as well. But, maybe you're looking to buy a new game. FF has you covered. With an entire side wall and 5+ shelving units dedicated to games for purchase, you can get your board game needs taken care of. They even have a few on display that you can take to a table and try out. But that's not all. They even have a fully functioning kitchen so you can order food while you game. They have things like macaroni and cheese, steak stir fry, grilled cheese, berry scones and more. You can even order specialty coffee and alcohol. If you want to go somewhere for a fun night out with friends, I would highly recommend Fantasy Flight. Don't have friends that want to play board games or tabletop RPGs with you? Check their website for events!! They have weekly D&D gatherings for new players and board game nights.
