I took in an old wall clock that has been in the family for about 60 years. It has no monetary value, but a great deal of sentimental value. As the clock was no longer working I asked for a new movement. They were so kind and assured me that they could make the repair and that the clock would be ready within two weeks. After about 10 days I received a call that the clock was ready. When I went to pay and collect the clock I received a detailed review of what was done and how to operate the updated movement. Brought our cuckoo clock here for repair. The woman at the counter was friendly and quite knowledgeable about clocks. She took her time to show us exactly what the problem was with the clock. Unfortunately the clock was cheaply made and the repair couldn't be done. The shop was full of all sorts of clocks, some being repaired others for sale. We brought an old clock from 1909 to the Antique Clock Shop to see if they can get it to work that I inherited from my Dad when he passed in 1986. The clock never worked. Never could find anyone all those years who could repair it. We took it to another clock store northern NC, they had it for over 6 months and never could get it to work. We have a few clocks, a grandfather and a kitchen clock, both from Germany. Plus an English clock clock which we gave to our son. All of them needed a rehabilitation and cleaning to get them running right. The "'rude man" highlighted by Rich C. is the owner, who now has his daughter working with him. We did not find him rude at all, though he is crisply straight to the point which might be mis-interpreted as rude. He really knows his clocks and looking at the number of pieces he has in his repair queue is testimony to that. His daughter also knows her stuff and is a bit more personable. He charges a decent rate, but his repairs come with a one year guarantee and he did make a house call when one of the clocks was not "bonging" quite right. There is a sale room with a lot of grandfather and grandmother clocks, mantel clocks and other wall versions. And he also has some collector pocket watches and some other older wrist watches for sale. If you want an expert and you want your clocks to work right, come on by. read more

I purchased a coo coo clock here and had a good experience. The shop has lots of beautiful clocks and other interesting items. Check them out. I returned and brought an old clock in for repair. Kristen Devine helped me and looked at the clock for a few minutes. She told me the time frame it was made and said it was a fine French Clock. She asked if I had the candelabras that went with it. I did and they were in the same excellent shape as the clock. She gave me an estimated value of the items. I was shocked and very pleasantly surprised. I became very anxious to get my beautiful clock repaired. They had to keep the clock for a while. I did not understand until I picked up the clock and Kristen explained that they have to work on them and then let them run and keep tweaking them until they keep time. I am happy to say our beautiful 18th century French clock is working perfectly and keeping time to the minute. This shop does quality work and I highly recommend them! Shout out to Kristen. Our little guy is OBSESSED with clocks, he's 3. He's been begging to see clocks so we took him to see and hear clocks. We walked in the door and were immediately greeted by Kristen. We told her our son was obsessed with clocks and she walked around with him showing him all the clocks and telling him about each one making them chime, and he just lit up. He was in heaven!! He even got to see behind the scenes with Kristen and Kemp where they work on the clocks. And he met Mr Dwayne who was equally as excited to meet him because of his enthusiasm for clocks. Took my 89 year old dad in after loosing his wife to see if they could get his antique cuckoo clock working again. They took a few minutes to graciously get things realigned and working. I visited the Antique Clocke Shop on two occasions when visiting North Carolina. I collect clocks and so enjoyed my visit to this shop. I had a clock that had to be repaired on each occasion and both times I got excellent results. On the second visit the owners daughter,a clock expert like her father, adjusted my clock and we chatted and she sent me on my way with no charges. She now has 2 new customers my son and myself (not for the no charge) but for her great expertise learned from her expert father. Owner will not honor warranty on repair / services provided. Website clearly states repairs "shall be free from any defect in material and workmanship, except for normal wear and tear commensurate with the age of the individual piece for a period of 1 year from date of purchase." Spent over $400 on a repair that owner stated would be like new afterwards. I was on the fence, but agreed since it was going to be like new. Wrong choice. First time I returned clock due to issues, he added additional weight to the chain, second time, ratchet wheels stripped (from additional weights ???), and owner asked if I had small children in the home that may have caused issue with clock that I brought back in for warranty. I don't agree that the issues were caused by "normal wear and tear". After having to prove clock was returned the second time within a year of having been repaired, only then the owner agreed that he would only warranty his services, but not the parts within the clock that I had already paid to repair (to run like new). Said it would take him hours to make the parts that had broken with an estimate of another $200 +. Not a business I would do business with again. I would trust an internet clock shop before I would drive to Waxhaw to have a clock repaired again at this shop. Now I have over $500 in an antique clock that doesn't work. Like another YP reviewed, I would leave a 0 star, but cannot. read more
