Mouth watering affettati from prosciutto to soppressata and asiago to caprino everything is delicious. We had the 3 meat and 3 cheese affettati. The selection we made, and the one I would every single time, was Speck, Prosciutto di Parma and Bresaola and for the cheese selection Asiago, Grana Padano and Brie. The waitress gave us a taste of the Caprino which I love the creaminess of it. The bread basket was amazing too of course. The bread here in Italy is just spectacular. You can't go wrong with any panini, sandwich or piadina in Milano. All the charcuterie and cold cuts are incredible and the bread too so order with confidence. The tartine are very good too, super fresh and with a lot of flavor. We had the crab, the salmon and the cotto. Really nice tartina! I prefer though the degustazione of affettati because even the bread was superior. The grissini is a trip back to childhood. What it stroked me the most was the neighborhood. The whole Brera area is lovely and the street where La Tartina is located is something out of a romantic movie. It's so quiet, beautiful and welcoming. I instantly went into relaxation mode. Also, our waitress was so nice with us. She helped us with the selection and recommended a few cuts and even gave us the Caprino to try. She was this beautiful woman like all Italians (including men too) that made our lunch so magic just with her smile. All the staff is super friendly and helpful. Would go back anytime anytime. In fact I'll go back right now! At least in my mind...

This was the only time on my 3.5 week trip I wasn't given an itemized receipt. If I wasn't ripped off, the place is still a rip off. The tartines look pretty but barely have any toppings compared to the amount of bland bread they're put on. It's like sushi at an all you can eat place where they put the thinnest slice of fish possible on okay rice to make it look pretty, but there's barely any substance. The inside of the restaurant is rough and rustic, like many Tapas venues in Spain. It's usually very crowded and full of atmosphere; their customers are people who want to follow a hectic workday with a relaxing glass of wine or a pint of beer. To accompany your wine or beer, Tasca offers a wide range of delicious Tapas. From a typicall tortilla, to meatballs in sauce, to sliced bread with tomato and Spanish ham - it's hard to go wrong here with whatever plates you pick! The portion sizes are large for Tapas, so if you get 3 or 4 each there will be plenty of food for everyone. Tasca is a nice place to enjoy some excellent food with good company, but note that the prices are a bit on the high side; don't expect to go away with your wallet as full as your tummy ;-)

They first asked if we have a reservation and I said no and they got very upset about it. Even though the restaurant was almost empty. It has good food but the food took way too long to be considered worth it. This place is nothing special, and Chiara Ferragni's blog belied the fact that it is OVERpriced and SLOW! Based on the Internet reviews, we thought this restaurant would be fabulous, trendy, and reasonably-priced. Wrong! Menu reads mouthwateringly good but then you are disappointed because the portions are the size of half of an appetizer in America! I would've enjoyed larger portions for a lower cost at a lesser known restaurant over this place- and the margaritas are NOT alcoholic enough. If I'm ordering a drink.. I want a drink. Lol. Wouldn't go back, but the food, despite being small and overpriced, tasted pretty good... If you're not worried about money or time, this one's for you... I got the vegetables in oyster sauce, shrimp dumpling soup, and chicken, and these 3 combined were still not as big as a regular APPETIZER portion in America... Crazy! Also got water and margarita... Totaled to €50- not worth it at ALL. Had a great night out with friends, but certainly not because of the restaurant...

I mean, get everything I starred. Get everything in general. The bill was about 75 euros a person without wine. We walked by this place as we were going from the train station to our hotel and noted how old…read moreschool fancy it looked. It turns out it's been open since 1899, though with much humbler trattoria origins. Now, it's got a sort of Gatsby steakhouse feel with lots of businessmen and Americans because they/we are the only ones willing to pay the upcharge. That said, it was a nice setting and a chance to try some more traditional Milanese dishes near the hotel for an unplanned dinner (reservations are online via the fork). On par with the setting, they do expect you to dress more nicely (no jackets required but maybe not a t shirt). I started with the world's largest aperol spritz, and we got a Rosso Di Moltalcino - a bit young but excellent, especially for the price. They started us with: - A cold fish amuse - Bread, focaccia, sesame crackers with salted parsley butter and saffron butter. Onto food - - Veal tonnato: traditional veal in tuna sauce. The veal was sliced super thin and was just barely cooked, very tender - Risotto Milanese: finally a place that doesn't force you to get a portion for 2! It had a great texture, saffron, and a veal stock - Tagliolini with porcini, parmesan fondue, black truffle - perfect for the fall - Veal ossobucco: cooked down nicely with truffled mashed potatoes (the lemon zest was a bit unexpected) - Spinach side: I just needed some vegetables, but they did a nice job on this They end your meal with some nice petit fours: caramel Italian cookie, strawberry and mango pate de fruit, and chocolate. Service was formal and polite, appropriate for the setting. Pricing is definitely high by Italian standards, but it was a nice setting and was certainly cheaper than what you would pay in the US. This was not my regular style - would I have preferred a small Milanese trattoria where they speak no English? Possibly. But after a long few days of being out while traveling, it was a nice dinner.
