The place itself is nice, warm and cosy, pretty busy (even at 10.30 pm which is when we went). The staff is nice and friendly, we were quite a big group and they were very accommodating. Food was served pretty quickly after we ordered and have to say it was pretty delicious. I had sword fish carpaccio as starter, seafood risotto, fried scampi and seafood mix and finally pannacotta. Everything was delicious (except risotto was a little too much "al dente" hence why the 4 stars) and at very reasonable prices. If you like seafood and you are in the area would definitely recommend this place.

Also, no such thing as free water here. So you better wanna spend big and wait a long time to get your food... I don't really know anyone who sets out to do that. It was 7:00 PM in the restaurant was very empty. Weird. The decorations are very tacky and the wait staff are very rude. They could not give a care in the world about whether or not your food is coming, and they just stand there all day on their phones! It's took about 30 minutes for my first dish to come, and then 20 minutes for my salad to come... Kind of ridiculous... No wonder overall this place has 3 stars. The food won't kill you... But the service might. Gosh. Would it kill these people to be apologetic about how long the food takes to be prepared... that's what waiters are supposed to do.

Itaka had some wonderful "fusion" style offerings and delicious wine. Give them a try. The place has a pleasing yet fresh casual atmosphere and tasty dishes. PS-Maybe we should cut them a little slack if they resolutely refused to learn English in Italy. Whoda thunk?

Zio Pesce means "uncle fish" and the decor is hip with fishing related objects on the walls, white table clothes and at least one waiter who translated the menu for us, answered all questions and ensured that not just the meal, but the evening was terrific. We started with a fabulous fish ceviche. Very fresh. Lovely flavor. Next we shared an order of bauletti. Bauletti means little trunks (think suitcases, not swimming). They are little squares filled, in this case, with cod. The bauletti are then cooked in a tomato sauce and bechamel sauce like you'd bake lasagna. It was great. The secondo was crispy octopus (polpo croccante). The octopus wasn't crispy but was grilled and coated with toasted bread crumbs and served on potatoes and greens. What great combination. All of the this was accompanied by cold, crisp lovely vermentino from Sardinia. For dessert we had super fresh strawberries with a lovely sauce I can no longer recall except to say that my mouth is watering thinking about it. This was a great meal and a great evening in a lovely ambience. Zio Pesce is the kind of restaurant you'd drive across town for in Washington or Atlanta or Toronto -- if you could get a reservation . Which brings me to the final point: you need to make reservation if you want to eat at Zio Pesce. The gentleman who answered the phone switched to English as soon as he heard my bad Italian.

However, given the noise level, it's hard to converse, so it wouldn't be my first choice for a romantic dinner. What this place does well is Angus Ribs. We had Beef Tartare and Grilled Angus Ribs. My friend loved his ribs, which were prepared with a liberal dollop of rock salt; the salt really added to the flavor profile. On the other hand, my Tartare was absolutely flavorless; if it hadn't been served with sweet cherry tomatoes on the side I wouldn't have been able to eat more than two spoonfuls of it :-( As for our sides, the potato skins we ordered weren't especially good either; they were oily and largely tasteless. The potato fries were actually freshly made chips that had been deep-fried in the kitchen - quite tasty! Portion sizes are very generous. The ribs were as wide as the plate, and the side of potato fries (chips) took up an entire plate. Overall this place is AOK, but I don't know that I'll be coming back anytime soon.

I really love this place, as in my opinion, every healthy meal should be based on one or more dead animals, preferably cows. Having this said, I am obviously a victim to every steakhouse. But everybody should know: this place has it's weaknesses in serving time and trying to manage bringing food for multiple persons at the same time, heck sometimes I even my potatoes shivering in front of my eyes, while I waited another 10 minutes for the meat. NOT OK!?! Well, now let's talk about what makes this place still genius: Due to a lag of fantasy on my side, I alway order the beef shoulder and I can tell you, it's a heck of meat. Soft, delicious taste, fresh from somewhere in South America. Totally worth the money in combination with red vine and onion potatoes (keep telling them actually cook the potatoes). Till today, it's impossible for me to believe that a cook can actually manage to cook a piece right down to the perfect minute, but is incapable to guess the right amount of cooking time for potatoes, but so be it! If you combine this with the variety of side dishes they have, this should fill you up beyond exploding without even touching the starters or deserts. My experience on the red vines varied strongly between good and beyond terrible, so better go with an open vine, if you don't have to impress a girl with your knowledge.
