If you purchase online, Anthropologie will not replace a broken item. I was told I should have shopped in store.

I love Barbara Jean! I have been coming here for six years during the spring sale, and they have…read morealways been friendly, welcoming and helpful, even when I say I am there for the sale. I always go with my husband on a Saturday, and recently when we dropped in, we found the spring sale whittled down to half-of-half-of-half on an outdoor rack. A very friendly sales assistant greeted us and started a changing room for me. When we were finished perusing the items, she led us to it and offered us both something to drink. We declined this time, but I have often taken them up on the offer, especially if I had a lot of items to try. Every single year, I find one or two (or three!) gems at this sale, things I wear for years and on which I get compliments for years. But this year, I walked more carefully through the rest of the store, not just to ogle the $3,000 suits and dresses, but to see what they had in other price ranges, and they really do have some affordable and beautiful pieces that you wouldn't necessarily have to wait for the sale to buy. Barbara Jean's most wonderful attribute is that the sales associates are ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. There are other "expensive" boutiques in Little Rock that definitely do NOT share this feature -- it's as if you have to prove to them you are worthy to shop there. When the time comes for me to buy a really expensive piece, those stores will not be my destination of choice. Barbara Jean will!

I just left Barbara Jean on Cantrell, and unfortunately, I was disappointed with my experience…read more When I walked in, nobody greeted me or even acknowledged that I was there. I browsed around for a while to see if someone would eventually ask if I needed help, but no one did. There were two white women shopping in the store, and I noticed the employees were actively assisting them. I'm African American, and I was standing nearby browsing on my own. There was also another gentleman who was assisting one of the customers, and at no point did anyone step away for even a moment to acknowledge me or ask if I needed help. I understand employees may be helping other customers, but a simple "Hi, we'll be with you shortly" goes a long way. As a African American customer, being the only person in the store who wasn't acknowledged while white customers were being assisted made me uncomfortable and left me questioning why I was treated differently. I ultimately left without purchasing anything. Customer service and making every customer feel welcome matters, and unfortunately, I did not feel welcomed during my visit.

I had patronized E.Leigh's online store a few times, and I absolutely loved how the clothes arrived…read morevery attentively wrapped and tidy. The experience of shopping online was so positive, I was excited about the bricks-and-mortar boutique when it was announced. I was in twice this week, once to peruse and once to come back to pick up the item I chose (a super-cute diaphanous print top I thought would be great for an upcoming trip). The proprietress, Erin, was in both times and remembered me from my previous purchases and a question I asked on the store's Facebook page about some Yosi Samra flats. The boutique is small, but decorated very prettily and is comfortable for shopping. I felt fine browsing and not buying (but of course, I had to return). The inventory was a little "picked over," according to the owner, but I found quite a few things I wanted. The items are definitely on trend (lots of pretty tangerine-colored items this season!), but not fashion-victim-y, and although the store definitely caters to a younger crowd, I'm in my early 40s, and I found quite a few things I thought were appropriate for me. She also carries cute accessories. Everything is VERY reasonably priced, more expensive than Forever 21, but a lot less than Anthropologie. My cute top was $42, and the Yosi Samra flats I love are less than $70, I think. I can see this store doing very well with people who want to add a little something to their wardrobe with zing and verve, but don't want to spend scads of money on the latest fashion. I will definitely be back! She gets new stuff all the time, and stopping in here feels neighborhood-friendly and fun.

Now, everything is ridiculously over priced! I went a couple of weekends ago and every single item I looked at was at least $100. For what? The items are super trendy, so they go out of style fast. The quality is also poor- cheap materials that will not last. I'm upset as I used to love this place, but it has continued to decline. I suggest you save your money and shop elsewhere
