Alina was so kind and helpful with the fittings, hemmed my mom's dress and added some lining that she asked for. She altered my dress, which was kind of complicated -- I needed the shoulders shortened and the dress has long sleeves that needed to be detached, and it was also all illusion on the top, and then the skirt needed to be hemmed as well -- she did an incredible job on both my alterations and my mom's dress hem. She was super nice, and worked quickly, getting my dress done in 3 fittings (initial, one to see the shoulders done, and final for the hem), and I had my dress back with a comfortable amount of time before we had to travel for the wedding. She was incredible to work with and if I ever need any other alterations for clothing I will bring it to her! She is the best! :)

I had a 2 year old and newborn in tow and just wanted someone to clean the spit up off my clothes no matter what the price. After 5 years of rolling my eyes at the price whenever picking up my dry cleaning I decided to look into other options. I called Skokie valley Laundry & Cleaners (thank you, yelpers) and realized they were 1/3 of the price of the dry cleaners I was using. Gasp. And for 1/3 of the price they even pick up and deliver my dry cleaning twice a week! As a working mom with 3 little ones I've learned that outsourcing as much as possible is key so not sure how it took me so long to realize that you can get your dry cleaning delivered. We've been using Skokie Valley & Cleaners for several weeks now and IMO it's 5 years too late. Besides the savings I'm loving the delivery option. Randy, who has apparently been with the company many years, picks up and drop off twice a week...and does the same for many of my neighbors. While I"ve never met him since I'm at work when he's at our house, my nanny is a fan. And I'm a fan of not having to find time to get to the dry cleanings, squeezing it into the car among all the car seats and (of course) the savings that can go towards more clothes that need to be dry cleaned.

The stitching is clean and even, the new zippers glide smoothly, and the match is so good you'd never know they weren't original. You can tell they care about quality. Both purses feel sturdy again, and they clearly handled them with real care. Turnaround was quick and the price was fair for craftsmanship this good. Lovely Mimi said she would definitely try her hardest to clean them but she couldn't make any promises. I appreciated her candor and I told her to work her magic. She was so sweet acknowledging my comment and I left there with nothing but a wish. Fast forward to now and Mimi texted me letting me know my costs were ready for pick up. I picked them up and legit was shocked. She was able to turn my gross jackets into something of wonder and happiness. She cleaned the heck outta of those jackets; no mold, no smell, no dust, nothing gross...Mimi and her magic hands pulled out a magic wand over my jackets and made them brand new again. I would take my pants, skirts, tube tops, whatever you want, to Mimi, who does all the hemming at her workstation by the front window. Maybe needless to say, but they also do shoe repair, dry cleaning, pressing and the like here!! I find their hours and location convenient to drop in and have not tried the pick-up and drop off service, but it's darn swell that they offer it. Prices are good too. I'll be back.
