I have been going there for over 10 years and have also sent my friends there and they all love it. Ivy is very knowledgeable about different skin types and she is very gentle with my face. She uses several skin care equipment on me and my skin feels and look much better than before. The private room is clean and quiet I wish I can do a longer than 110 minutes treatment. This place offers a good massage for $40/hr. (They also have 30 and 90 min packages.) I have come here a few times and left satisfied ALMOST every time. For the most part, they just do one type of massage. Not really sure what to call it, it's somewhere between what your husband would give you at home and what you'd get at a legit massage parlor. If you are looking for something specific (Swedish, shiatsu, hot stone, etc...) or a pair of really professional hands, probably best to go somewhere else. WARNING: there is one masseuse who doesn't use a sheet for the first half of your massage. If you are not comfortable with lying butt naked while she rubs you down, you better say something when you get there! The outside of Anthony's Med Spa is unimpressive but the interior is decent. They have a couch area in the front and massage rooms in the back. It's quiet, dim, and the massage ladies talk in soft voices. Instead of doors, each room is shielded by curtains and has an elevated massage table and hooks for you to hang your items. I find the soft music they play over the rooms very relaxing. I've been here twice for a massage and both times were quite good. The masseuse usually asks me what area is the most sore and she concentrates most of her time on that area. You can also request the amount of pressure they use, and I always request them to press hard. I especially loved it when they stepped on my back with their feet. The part where they use hot towels to wipe off the massage oil feels really good too. I think the experience definitely varies depending on what masseuse you get and what area you ask her to focus on. $40 for an hour is quite a steal! Cash only. My only gripe (and the reason about this place didn't get four stars) is that the masseuses are too pushy about tip, on the borderline of rude. Even when I tip 18% - 20%, I often get the feeling that they're dissatisfied. If I visit this place in the future, I will definitely bring EXACT change because sometimes, the masseuses don't have change to give you. Came here with a friend a while ago. It was sometime this year, but I completely forgot about this place, because that's how much I didn't like this place. So basically my friend wanted to get facials done, and I've never been there before. We were recommended by a friend that this place was pretty good. So of course my friend who by the way has been there before, like maybe once or twice, decided I should come here too. Anyway, so it takes like 15 to 20 minutes before the lady is ready to do my facial, and then afterwards, I go into the room, which is near the front of the store. The lady there starts zapping my face with strange instruments, which scare the crap out of me, because I don't know what she's doing to my face, because I closed my eyes. After the facial, I have to wait for my friend to get her facial done, which takes 30 minutes, or so. And then after that, when we were paying, I only gave a $2 tip, because I wasn't sure how much money I was suppose to tip, and the guy at the front, gives me an annoyed look, like, "Your suppose to tip more." How rude. I'm probably not coming back here again. I'd rather go to a place near my house, which is way better, because the women there aren't rude, and won't treat you like crap, if you don't tip them good. read more

Facial was done by Agnes, very thorough, but no skin analysis & no pressure of any product sales pitch, worth the money for an hour. Massage- ok, but what I didn't like, I gave the masseuse a tip and told her to give back certain amount as I didn't have any change. The masseuse ignored my request, and kept the entire amount. I had to leave for another appointment, no time to argue. I heard about these type of incidents with other friends, but didn't expect here. Leave a sour taste for that incident, no more getting massage here! Now, make me think twice about getting a facial here too. Also, I don't think the masseuse knows different type of massages, just only 1 type. I insisted on Swedish, but get more of accupressure type. So my husband & I walked in, pretty much from seeing this place on the road. From the looks of it, it doesn't look great on the outside, but when you walk in, it's a different story. There's a room w/AC to wait in, water to drink, magazines to peruse, and comfortable leather couches. The decor was also appreciated, not tacky, but peaceful & Asian-themed. Next time I will arrive a little early to catch up on the latest People magazines... Now, the facial: I had Agnes for 1-hr, and I will give her 5 stars for her facial! It was relaxing from beginning to end, and I received a great massage to go along with it (head, face, neck, back, chest). Wonderful.... My husband had the 1-hr massage, and he gave it 3.5 stars. Says it wasn't the best massage he's ever had, but that it was very good. And you can't beat the price. My only ONE COMPLAINT is that the facial room is near the front entry, so you can hear clients talking in the waiting room. It interferes with the peaceful music and the service. My husband didn't have this problem in the massage room, however. Overall, I would go back for the facial again, with Agnes. Once we were there, we were greeted by the alcohol reeking guy who seems to be the owner of the place, it seems weird to me already. Parking was no problem -- right in the back -- there is always plenty. When I walked in, there was a very welcoming reception area with comfortable couches :-) I've had a few massages and had a great experience each time. Each experience was a little different, but all were very friendly and thorough. They all asked where I need the most attention. Just got a 30min massage from Sherry! She was wonderful and just what I needed! I slept pretty bad last night and so my neck shoulder and head was hurting When I took my mom to the dentist and saw that there's a massage place right next door, I couldn't resist and had to check it out. I told them I did not have an appointment and only have about 30 min, they were willing to accommodate (they only have 60 min on their menu). I was completely relaxed after my facial and ready for my one hour massage. Ivy is the only woman to see there. she comes from china and speaks ok english. Ivy worked in the massage field for many years so your in for a real treat as she works on your face neck and shoulders. very enjoyable. I had been meaning to check this place out thinking that since 'med' was in the name i thought it'd be a little more accommodating as far as the different type of massages they advertise they can do. First of all there was 1 masseuse-i didnt get her name but she was a sweetheart-and i hate to write poor reviews but this place is less than a massage place-probably more of a salon type of venue. You can hear everything from the massage room, the door for the room stays open and they use a curtain to "close" the door. There wasn't any running water sounds, not even relaxing music til maybe 30 minutes into the massage, you can hear absolutely everything from outside to the lobby. My massage was gonna be half body half feet but she worked on one foot more than the other and had conversations with another person who i think was another employee or something during my massage-so all in all i enjoyed it for whatever it was worth-60$including tip which they ask about if you're paying card and probably wont be back for a massage anytime soon... read more

The facility is cozy and the workers were nice however I DO NOT recommend coming here if you're pregnant. I came in today with my boyfriend and while he came out relaxed and happy (the reason I gave 3 stars and not 1) I was beyond frustrated. The lady giving me a massage was scared to touch me at all because I was pregnant even when I asked her to use more pressure to work out the sore spots in my back. She literally caressed me for an hour and rubbed oil on me. I had chills because it felt like she was tickling me. If you're just getting a normal massage I'm sure you'll be fine but for my fellow pregos, pay the extra $20 and go somewhere that specializes in prenatal massages. Over the course of 10 years, I've tried several locations, but I've come out with pain and injuries primarily because the inexperience of the "therapist." Time and time again, I return to Anthony's Mediterranean Spa because of its friendly service, good massages, and overall consistency. I thought the waiting area was decent but as you walk in to the rooms, you pass what seems to be a storage area with washer/dryer. The curtain covering my room had a gap so can be looked in. The masseuse was hinting on a big a tip in a conversation about her other clients which I thought was inappropriate and a turn off. I didn't get a sense of courtesy from the owner towards his staff in front of me which I thought was rude. During my massage, there was a bit of talking among another client and the other masseuse. I don't know why people don't know better to be quiet walking into a massage parlor where relaxation and quietness are key! Called for an appointment and was able to just walk-in. Owner is Anthony...was very welcoming and nice. Paid upfront before service, which was $45 for 1 hour. He told me to tell my masseuse exactly what I wanted. The lady that did my massage was asian. I'm not sure if all the masseuses are asian but there were 2 asian masseuses I saw while I was there. Anyway, I told her I wanted deep tissue and to focus on my neck and shoulder area. She did a good job for the most part. I would describe it as a pressure massage rather than massage in a focused area. It was interesting how much oil she used on my back but was glad she wiped it all off once she finished massaging my back. My suggestion is if you like an overall massage this place is perfect, but if you want deep tissue on a focused area I think you can get another person or maybe just try other places. I signed up on here just so I could give this review. I am a customer of massages... real, professional massage.. not the shady kind. While I was in Monterrey, I decided to get a massage; and have found this place here on yelp. Based on the reviews before me, I had trusted that it was a "legit" place and the price was reasonable.. Most places are within this range.. BOY WAS THE REVIEW WRONG!!! Though it carried all these signs, I walked in with an eerie feeling. The front desk reeked of alcohol; as if the owner had been drinking. The ere was a large room in the center which appeared to be more of a "socializing" area as oppose to the waiting area.. I decided that I may be a little too judgemental and decided to give the massage a try. 2 women came out to give me and my friend our massages. The massage room was sort of like a dressing room separated by colorful cheap bathroom curtains.. and the place smelled REALLY BAD.. i couldn't pinpoint what the smell was.. hoping it wasn't the smell of sex.. which really doubted the cleanliness of the sheets. The massage was mediocre, but what struck me is when the two ladies kept on talking to each other almost screaming through the curtain and walls.. I've never been to a place that was like that. I paid for an hour and received 45 mins.. and what topped it off to being the worse place was that after they were finished, I had tipped them based on their inability to calculate time.. but they made a scene of wanting more tip.. double of what I had given them... telling me there's a minimum on tip??? I DIDN'T GET IT.. Isn't it optional based on your performance? I was so upset at their rude demands, and vowed to leave this review.. in hopes that people wouldn't get the same experience as I have. I say do you have any appointments like right now? Yes I am that girl who calls last minute wanting to be accomodated but they always fit me in or at least try to get me the closest appointment. I can't even begin to tell you how many other spa's are not willing to do that therfore they get my 5 stars.
