We purchased 2 trees for both our home and our daughters. There wasn't a huge selection of trees (compared to other farms we've been at the past) and they were higher priced. I believe you get what you pay for so after buying both trees for $240 we had high hopes. Unfortunately after putting up our tree, it lost a lot of needles. We've had live trees for the past 30 years so we do have a lot of experience and I would never make that assessment if we didn't. We decorated and knew it wasn't that fresh but it is what it is. I wasn't going to return it as we came from Genesee county. Within a week the branches began falling limp (best way I can explain it) and my husband watered it from the first day but it took very little water that entire week. The second week we noticed our ornaments were moving lower onto the tree. Week before a Christmas and our ornaments were actually falling off the tree bc the ends of the branches actually point downward! Then our son in law said their tree took very little water that first day and stopped watering after second week bc the water level never went down. They took the tree down Christmas night bc it was dropping needles so badly. We took our tree down on 12/26 bc it truly looked sad and we had a huge mess of needles all over; truly never experienced so many needles when removing a tree in all these years. Also this is the ONLY time I felt I needed to leave a review for any tree! As I've said earlier, I believe you get what you pay for. This was NOT the case.

In planning to buy a real Christmas tree for the first time since I was a kid, and near my house…read moreI went to yelp for help and was very pleased with the results. Crossen Christmas Tree Farm is a wonderful small business, and if you are looking for a tree this year head on down for great people, great trees, and a great atmosphere. Crossen has a variety of types, shapes and sizes of trees. They have options pre-cut, and plenty that you can chop (or rather saw down) yourselves. They have trees painted purple and blue. Although I can't compare as I've never been to a Christmas tree farm, even when I was a kid we just bought our tree's from a parking lot, what really set Crossen apart was the friendly small town service. From the Merry Christmas's said by everyone, to the guy who properly tied our tree to our car providing the rope and everything, to the offers to help saw our tree, to the reasonable prices (this year every tree was $45), to the free hot chocolate, and Santa visit this place is one we plan to come back to every year and I highly encourage you to do the same!

This place is perfect to find a Christmas tree. My family sees themselves as the Griswold's (in…read moremore ways than just the tree), so we cut our tree down every year. We use to go further away to get the tree, but this is closer with a better selection. You do not have to worry about a lack of trees! They provide sleds by the entrance to the tree area of the farm, so you can pull it up to the tree shaker and wrapper easily. They also have precut trees, if you rather not cut it yourself. They have a standard price for all the trees. It was $50 in cash for us - credit is a little more (Dec. 2021). They also have a little store where they sell various things you may need from tree bags to stockings to wreaths and everything in between. They also have commentary hot chocolate for you to enjoy and give candy canes when you pay. Everything in there is priced lower than most other stores. I'd rather go here than Walmart for some of the items for the price! The staff are all friendly and even helped my dad tie the tree to the roof of our SUV. If you want to cut your own tree down, I highly recommend Crossen Christmas Tree Farm.
