He's extremely kind, patient, and overall an excellent doctor. I enjoy having him as my PCP. I just wish I didn't have to schedule so far out for an appointment. It's a blessing and a curse, because he's so popular! Mariana Racovita- I recently had an acute visit with Mariana and she was wonderful. Kind, courteous and more importantly thorough. I'd love to continue seeing her as well. The other staff (medical assistants and front desk) have been good for the most part. I've had some off experiences but are willing to look past due to the overall quality care received from Thrive. Shout out to the lab techs though, because they are always wonderful! Thank you!

I just walked in. There was no wait. I think I got lucky but this is a very new facility and that may be why. The staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning. They were quick to assess and patient to answer all my questions. Everyone showed concern and compassion without judgment. I was not questioned or put on the spot about finances. In fact no financial info was required. Only my own personal/health info. Dr. Jayh was so nice, knowledgeable, and compassionate. She listened to me (for real) and didn't have an arrogant attitude like so many doctors who believe they are superior to everyone else. She was so kind and caring, focusing on my needs and sensitive to my opinions and desires. Really supportive. I only paid $85 for the visit and got a coupon for reduced cost meds. It would have been much less if I was on a monthly plan. My visit would have cost $25 or $50 depending on which plan you choose. I would recommend this healthcare choice to any and all regardless of income. I am super satisfied. This process was the easiest, quickest, most non-invasive experience I have ever had in a doctor visit. Highly recommend!

Dr. Lin has been my PCP for several years, so I've seen her for just about everything. I generally…read morelike her as a doctor, and she's flexible in her approach depending on the condition you're there for. At times, she's recommended natural treatments (e.g. vitamins and dietary supplements when appropriate). However, when I need antibiotics or heavy duty meds, she doesn't hesitate to prescribe those either, and appears to be very up to date in her drug knowledge. She has also been very good about making referrals when necessary, which is important to me because I've had back surgery and need to see a specialist ever so often for checkups. Another plus for women is that she is also an OBGYN, so she can do your annual pelvic exam etc. The only real downside is that it can be hard to get in to see her on short notice. Sometimes you just can't wait to get in to see your doctor. I've found myself visiting the walk-in clinic more than once because I couldn't get in to see Dr. Lin for a sinus infection or some other minor but urgent problem. In the past, she hasn't been willing to call in scripts for antibiotics or other meds that require a diagnosis, but she has called them in for refills for things like acne meds etc. without making me come in for a doctor's visit.

Getting to see my siblings was the highlight of the trip for me. Spending a lot of time outdoors with my dog getting more exercise than usual was the other highlight..... that is until I took a spill on one of our walks!! So, it's really unbelievable how many different parts of your body you can bruise and bang up from one little fall! I managed to get my chin, road rash on my right knee, huge bruises on the upper right knee, scraped right ankle, scraped left hand, and finally -my left foot (which I thought I probably sprained pretty badly based on the size and the colors it ended up being over the next few days.) Anyhow, I am a tough old bird and since we were out of state I really didn't want to go to the ER or an Urgent Care if it wasn't absolutely necessary so I stayed off of it as much as I could, all things considered, and it did improve very slowly but surely. Since this happened mid second week of our four week and two days trip, I really had expected it to be pretty much back to normal, but it is still hurting enough to cause me to limp, so I thought I better check in with Dr. Schroeder at Wells Branch Family Medical Center. She's been my doctor since 1990. I know, unbelievable, right?? I met her when I worked in long-term care back when doctors still went to facilities to see their patients. She was a very young DO, very personable, you could just see how much she cared about her patients and her communication skills were excellent. I asked her if she was taking on new patients in her practice and she was .....so the rest is history! Dr S. agreed that I should come in after reporting this injury. After examining my foot, she said that she thought it might well be fractured. We felt like it was probably the upper metatarsal considering where the swelling and the pain is. She ordered a foot and ankle X-ray which she ordered and I received today. Since I have been walking on it for over two weeks there was really no urgency and I did not expect to hear anything about the x-ray until tomorrow. I was a little surprised when she called this afternoon. Turns out I have something called a Jobe's fracture. Dr. S. recommends that I see an orthopedist and said it's highly unlikely I would need surgical intervention, but she does think that they will put me in a boot for 6 to 8 weeks. Jeez Louise, here we go again. I have got to quit falling! Bottom line here-I have had Dr. Schroeder as my Primary Care Physician for 30+ years and I still feel the same way about her care and concern and expertise as I did when I observed her seeing her patients in the long-term care facility. 40 (yes 40!!!) years ago. I don't know if she's taking any new patients so you'll have to call & check if you I have a need to make a change. I just wanted to write up a five star review because Dr. Schroeder and her team at Wells Branch are just incredibly awesome and I want to be sure they know it!!! Yvonne- At the front desk is so sweet and very efficient and Dr. Schroeder's nurse has been there for years and is quite a card. I must say that even though my foot ends up being broken, I felt better when I left the office, then I did when I came in! I hope anybody that happens to be reading this feels the same way about their practitioners. I just know that I am truly blessed, and I hope to be able to continue my visits when necessary for as long as I live!

I read many positive reviews of Dr. Carlson at my insurance's medical review website, so I decided to book an appointment since I'm new to Austin and was looking for a family care practitioner. Dr. Carlson was great and answered all my questions, taking time to listen to a concern I had about a hearing problem I sustained after a basketball injury. After taking a look for himself, he recommended me with a list of 3 ear specialists just to make sure there was no long term damage. He also suggested that for my age, yearly check ups aren't as necessary, and every 2 years would suffice, so it's nice to know he's not looking to get as much money from me as possible. The only down side I experienced was it took about 9 days wait before I could get my appointment. I don't know how long waits normally are, or if this was an anomaly, but if I had the flu or something that needed attention quicker, 9 days is not very acceptable. Overall, I'm pleased with my experience here and would recommend it.

I have gone through periods of being uninsured and his staff has gone to great lengths to insure that my medical needs are met. He is a doctor that listens and takes time with his patients. I love the fact that he doesn't belong to a giant clinic. Recently, I had to take my daughter to another clinic because the insurance company she is on prefers that clinic. The doctor there sent her home without thoroughly checking her with a "wait and see" approach. She was very sick and had missed too much school so I paid out of pocket and took her to Dr Caterbone. He ran a couple of tests that found she had a pretty serious illness. I appreciate his thoroughness.

And I have another chronic illness that you either medicate (like most of the population) or work on it with diet, exercise and lifestyle changes. He actually told me to try to work on it without drugs! He gave me some sound information and I'm completely impressed. I'm so glad he's not a drug-pusher! How often do you hear that, really? I am honestly heartbroken and furious about how I was treated during this visit. As I was leaving, I saw Dr. Gray walking toward my room. He said he was about to come in, but he already seemed upset and flustered and from the moment he spoke, I could tell something was off. He didn't ask what was going on or why I had stepped out. He didn't give me even a moment to explain how I was feeling. He asked two rushed questions, barely listened to my answers, and shut me down when I tried to speak. He looked in my ears and then told me, with no empathy at all, 'There's nothing we can do. You can call ENT and Google exercises at home.' It felt dismissive, cold, and completely unprofessional. What hurt me the most is that my blood pressure was extremely high dangerously high and he treated it like it didn't matter. I know I have to be responsible for my health, but he is a doctor. Why choose a profession centered on caring for people if you are unwilling to actually care? I was not rude, not difficult, not disrespectful, yet I was treated like an inconvenience. I could have walked out of that clinic in a medical crisis, and he didn't seem to care at all. As I was leaving, he said, 'Your blood pressure is a little high, try not to stress,' and then chuckled. That moment broke me. I felt small, dismissed, and completely uncared for. I work incredibly hard. I'm in school finishing a master's program in clinical mental health. I am not illiterate, I am not unreasonable I was simply asking for help with my health. And Dr. David C. Gray absolutely failed me today. I left feeling angry, sad, and scared. Anytime I've come to this clinic, the staff is dismissive and doesn't listen. They ask why you've come in, and don't write notes for the doctor. The doctor asks why you've come in and dismisses your issues as non issues. This has happened to me for a variety of issues over 5+ years. If I could find a reliable PCP I would never come here. 0/10 never recommending this clinic or any ARC clinic to anyone ever.
