Very disappointing front office staff with a weak manager. Asked for Dr. Keller to call me after 6+ years of see him. It's sad he doesn't care about his practice or patients. I saw Dr. Philip. Before I was even able to finish saying what type of symptoms I had been feeling, she told me to pick 2 of the most severe ones and that I should come back again for the others. It seems like there is a trend here with the reviews, who am I to stop this trend. And I rarely give one star reviews so this one is warranted. I am not sure how Dr. (and I use that title loosely) Tina Phillips got a medical degree, but they should really start looking into the bedside manner/patient care/being able to talk to people like a normal human being aspect of a doctor's profession before allowing someone to get their M.D. I went here a few months ago as they were close to the house and took the insurance. They had all of these forms to fill out beforehand which I thought was great because it would save time, wrong! I was still kept waiting. The "doctor" finally comes in tapping away on an iPad tablet, not listening to anything I say and scoffing at me when I tell her what is bothering me. I had a pain in my side and thought it might have been from one of my organs due to some medications I was on as a possible side effect, she told me it was gas and I should do some stretches. She is very unprofessional, rude and should not be treating people if she does not listen to what is wrong with you and offers up generic advice that I can find on web M.D. I come from a family of medical professionals and almost went into this field myself but opted not to and she is a travesty to the medical community. I had another appt yesterday, as again they were close by and could fit me in. This was for the Limestone Commercial Rd address, I have never been there. My GPS sent me around in circles, I tried calling about 2-3 times before my appt when I realized that I would probably be running late, couldn't get anyone to pick up to tell them I was running late. I got there 15 minutes late (appt was at 4:45 got there a little before 5pm) and was told that the doctor left, the receptionist told me "I don't know what else you want me to tell you, she left for the day...I can try to book you in for tomorrow morning but that is it". There were no attempts made to contact me as well to see if I was running late or what the situation was. I am waiting to see if they will try to contact me for a no-show fee, technically I did show up and made all attempts to contact them so I would probably argue against that. To me that just shows the true nature of this doctor and her general uncaring attitude towards her patients. If she is just here for paycheck, then I do hope that enough people see these reviews and stop seeing her as with some of these other reviews I am seeing...she is putting people's lives at risk with her misdiagnosis and general incompetence. read more

I was a patient of Dr Keller for 15 years. But over the past couple of years I have been unemployed and rely on my parents to help me until I can get a job. I've had to re schedule a couple of times because of lack of income and also I have no insurance. The office manager Linda told the staff member who I talked to that if I cancel my appointment that Dr. Keller will no longer be able to see me. I posted a review on Facebook and Linda responded and acted like she cared. Then when she called me today she said that I was being terminated as a patient and that Dr Keller said he would no longer treat me. I find this to be ridiculous. I will for sure let everyone know about their lack of empathy for my situation. And I will find a much better doctor. The staff and office manager think they are all high and mighty. Dr. Keller is our family medicine Dr. for my entire family for last 15 years . We loved their service in the past . We love Dr. Keller and his MA Danielle . However , the staff need some training . We called today to make an appointment for my father in law (80 years old ) and Sarah was extremely rude. She did not show any concern about his blood pressure medication being out and being rude about his appointment . They are becoming more money oriented than patient care now . Dr. Keller is the best doctor I have ever been to! I started seeing him in 2014 when I moved to Austin. I continue to go to him even though I moved across town and am now 40 mins away. He is SO patient and addresses all of my questions and concerns without rushing me. He is the first doctor I have ever had that makes me feel like he actually cares about my health and well being. I am currently halfway through my first pregnancy and requested that he see me along side my OB just because I feel like he does a better job at answering questions and actually listening to my concerns. I also love that he encourages healthy diet, exercise, and other forms of healing besides just medication. I had to fire them. The office staff always found a way to charge me $20 or $30 for my visits, even though primary care is supposed to be no co-pay with my insurance. They even called and bugged me about $14. The explanation of these charges was always vague and just "what your Insurance doesn't pay". Curious. The main reason I had to fire them is because Dr. Phillip just plain doesn't listen to what you say. I am very savvy about my health, rarely get sick, and try to use natural healing methods whenever possible. So when I go to the doctor, I am seriously concerned. I went one time when I had a bad reaction to red tattoo ink. It did not heal properly. I went to PPC to have it checked out. Dr.Phillip gave me some neosporin type cream and some antibiotics. She did not seem very concerned. Okay.... The next day while in Big Lots, I begin to see stars, then tunnels, then feel woozy. I get very scared and go over to the ER at NW. They tell me I have cellulitis, which is a smidgen away from GANGRENE! Almost septic.They gave me fluids, IV antibiotics, and more creams. $200 co-pay. I could give the benefit of the doubt on this bad call; if it hadn't happened again this last summer. I was violently ill with diarrhea and vomiting. Once again I go to PPC. The receptionist is bugging me about the copay, while I'm trying to not poop on the rug. Then they ask me if I want a freaking flu shot! No, I want to stop pooping/puking. Dr. assures me it is just a "bug" and will run its course. Drink fluids and wait. This was Wednesday. By Thursday nite, I am almost too weak to stand and see blood where I shouldn't. Another $200 trip to the ER. I have dysentery! (I think from chicken). It took an IV, two kinds of antibiotics, and about a month for me to feel better. One time missing the mark would be forgivable. Twice, I'm not going to tolerate. I need a Dr who will listen to my health concerns. I hate shopping for a new primary Dr, but my health is too important to gamble on another bad call. read more

I recently went to Dr. Philips for a routine physical, and she is a joke! If you are looking for a primary care provider, trust me when i tell you, you need to find someone else! I work in healthcare and know a knowledgeable Dr. when i see one. My routine physical consist of me laying on a table, her barely pushing on my abdomen and telling me everything is fine. They give you a questionnaire in the lobby to fill out anything that could be wrong with you physically/mentally. But didnt bother to go over any of it! Its very clear that she is not a people person, She doesn't even smile. She is not interested in treating her patients, shes just there to do the minimal to get by and Bill for a routine physical. You know, when a place cost you over $1,200 due to misdiagnoses, not once but twice?!? I think it calls for an updated review. Dr. Shane Keller is wonderful, but I never get to see him, I always get stuck with Ann-Marie the nurse practitioner. Back in April I go in due to pain in my lungs, and shortness of breath, I am prescribed an inhaler, given a steroid shot, and sent on my way. Two days later I am at St.Davids with bronchitis. That bill from the hospital was lovely even with insurance. 2 weeks ago I go in for sinus issues, shortness of breath, and pain in my lungs. She listens to my lungs, says I sound clear and sends me on my way with a $60 inhaler and singuliar. I was also over charged on the co-pay, my fault for not double checking. Guess what?1?!? Doesn't help one bit, I call that Friday and leave a voicemail explaining that the pain in my lungs is worse, and I don't feel good at all. She calls and leaves a voicemail saying, "I will up the dosage on the inhaler" ... I have a miserable weekend. Monday I go to urgent care, turns out I have infection in both ears, and guess what, you got it!! Bronchitis again. I get the proper meds, strong antibiotics and I feel better now. Parkway primary care has cost me over $1,200 due to the nurse practitioner mis diagnosis. Stay away unless you actually get to see Dr. Keller. read more

I feel a little guilty going 1 star, since the actual Physicians here are actually pretty good. But the front desk staff are absolutely horrible. As others have pointed out, Sarah has some serious attitude and struggles to answer very basic questions without getting defensive and accusatory. Not professional at all. I have had so many problems dealing with these people, from getting prescriptions refilled to billing. The reason I started going here at all because Dr. Travis Bias (Who is no longer with the practice, wonder why?) was one of the highest rated doctors I could find in my area. As long as he was my physician I had no complaints. Issues didn't start really cropping up until he left. Once he left the practice I had to switch to a new doctor at the practice. This wasn't so much of an issue but the prescription that I'm currently taking for my low thyroid levels needed to be refilled not long after. Once it was getting close, I made the request to refill. A couple days later I get a call from CVS telling me they denied it. I made another request through the Parkway "Patient Portal", and got no response. Finally I called, and talked to Sarah, and she rudely told me that they had apparently told me during my last visit that I would need to make another appointment and physically come in before they could renew my prescription... Seriously? This is basic thyroid hormones. These aren't prescription pain killers or anything. So I ask when I can come in. Turns out the remaining doctors are fully booked for 8 weeks solid... and I have like 1 week left of my prescription at this point. I'm finally able to get them to at least refill my prescription through to the date of my new appointment (They only gave me enough to get me through to the day, I had 1 pill left the day of my appointment). So already I'm a little irked at the staff here. It should not be this difficult to obtain a medicine that I'm supposed to take daily for the rest of my life. Now it's time to take care of the bill... They mail me a paper bill (Even though they have an online patient portal, have my email address, etc). I look it over and up down, go to the website, etc. There's no way to pay online. the only way I can pay this bill is to write a check and drop it in the mail... Seriously? What year are you people stuck in? Who doesn't offer online bill pay today? So I mail the check in. They send me a second invoice for the same amount. I ignore it because I figure my check is still in the mail or still being processed. Until today, I get a third invoice, this time via Email.... And guess what? The emailed invoice can be PAID ONLINE!?! So I call them again, and again, speak to Sarah. I explain to Sarah that the check was cashed already (I can see it on my bank statement, so they have the money) and that they've sent me two invoices now even though it's already been paid. First she tries to tell me it's "stuck in the mail." Umm, no, I already told you the check has been cashed, so it can't be "stuck in the mail." Then she says that because they are so short staffed that they have no way of knowing that I paid the bill unless I call and tell them... Good thing I had because then she tells me that if I had ignored this 3rd invoice the next thing they would have sent me was a 10 day notice to pay or be sent to collections, even though I had already paid the bill. I shouldn't have to call you and tell you I mailed a payment. In fact, I shouldn't even have to MAIL the payment, let me pay online please and save everyone these silly headaches. So now I ask her about the email, if they can email me an invoice that I can pay online, why isn't that the first invoice they send out? or why doesn't the paper invoice mention being able to pay online? According to her, they can only email the *3rd* invoice because that has to be done manually and it's a completely separate system from the paper invoices. So it's not possible to pay the paper invoice online, but if you just sit on it long enough they will eventually send you an email with much more convenient payment options. I guess the moral of the story is that I should not pay my doctors bills on time, or just find another practice whose technology is from this decade, because this is nuts. read more

I am giving this practice zero stars. Just 15 minutes ago the font desk refused to make an appointment for 2 days from now when we return from our vacation. My companion fell off his bike 8 days ago and is still in pain. The front desk is rude, unorganized and completely unprofessional. I have worked in health for over30 years and have never seen such a gross lack of regard for a patient's well being. Best advice I can give anyone is: don't ever go to this practice. Until I moved to Austin, I had the same doctor, dentist etc etc my entire life. I located Dr Bias by luck, googling family physicians in Pflugerville cause it's close to my house. Winding up at his practice was like hitting the doctor lottery. This cat is personable, professional, attentive, great listener, all of the above. I raved about how much I liked him and his staff that my wife is now a patient of his. He always takes time with you, listens to what you have to say and your thoughts instead of giving you the whole "I'm a doctor and I know what's best" routine. Recently moved to the area and was looking for a new primary care physician. Kaycie was affable and very accommodating and worked to get me in right away. Where I was turned away from other doctors in the area and was growing very frustrated with front desk staff and 2 -3 month waiting periods for new patients the team at Parkway were friendly and worked with me to get in to see the doc as soon as I could. I have been going to this practice for several years (since 2012) and from my first visit with Dr Philip I immediately thought her bedside manner needed some work, but overlooked it. Out of convenience (and slight laziness), I continued to go to this office. Almost every time that I have had blood work done, I have had to call and see if my results were in after several days of waiting and nothing being uploaded to the patient portal. I had also contacted them about uploading some results from an ultrasound that was done, unfortunately I go no response to that request. And on the note of the patient portal, it isn't very user friendly and doesn't work properly. At my last appointment for a physical, Dr Philip literally took about 5 minutes to complete it and didn't even check my thyroid even after telling her that I felt like something may be off with it and having family history. I also feel that she wrote off any concerns I may have had about another issue I mentioned. This review echos several others that I have read. read more

Made an appt through ZocDoc at 12pm for a 4:15pm same day appt. Prior to that I had also booked an appt. with an Allergist and OBGYN that both failed miserably. By the time I got to Dr. Bias' office, his staff had my forms pre-filled so all I had to do was fill out a couple quick signatures and I saw him minutes later. He was able to help me with everything I needed; it removed the need to even see an allergist/obgyn as they do it all in the office! I generally loathe going to the Doctor's office, but this experience was so pleasant I had to leave reviews and rave about it to my bf who will also be going here next time! read more

Never have been a fan of doctors. In fact avoided them most of my life. As I'm getting old and finding myself needing one I started searching when I moved to Austin. Being a patient in ARC (Austin Regional Clinic) for my first 7 years here it didn't ease my feelings about drs as I always felt like a number not a patient every time I went and the drs we always emotionless robots. Finding Dr Shane Keller was the best thing that happened to me, my family and my unease of Drs. Awesome staff! Awesome bedside manors and cares about you the patient not your checkbook! This place is really awesome. Every time I've needed care they fit me in either the day I call or the next day. Dr. Philips is great.

Our first experience here was far from good. First, Sarah at the front desk has more attitude than anyone dealing with customers should have. She is rude, and uneducated in how insurance and billing actually work. We made an appointment for a physical with Dr. Bias. Our insurance covers this at 100%. When I was charged a copay I nicely explained, we didn't have one. Sarah's first didn't believe me and said she needed to call my insurance to confirm. That never happened. Then she gave some ridiculous excuse as to anything other than "ear, nose and throat" being discussed prompted a copay. Funny thing is, I had just walked back there, they had no idea what or what not I was going to discuss. Then she gave me an excuse that this is how our insurance just bills things. Absolutely untrue. I was on my phone with my insurance at the very moment and they disagreed. After a week of calling the office manager, I finally got a call back. Just trying to leaving a message for her was disaster, as Sarah continued her attitude via phone. Linda, the manager explained that 99% of patients come in for a physical and discuss other issues. Well, guess I was that 1% that didn't. She even lied to my wife about what I apparently did discuss. Couldn't have been further from the truth. She also went onto explain that they are a small family practice and have to charge for every thing discussed. Basically, all excuses and crummy service. The physical was no more than 10 minutes, not the 30 as we were told more than once. Dr. Bias was in such a rush that I wasn't able to ask any questions. So, if you want bad service, rushed appointment times, and to be charged more than you should, by all means, this is your place. If you want a good doctor, with professional staff, I would look elsewhere. read more

This review is hard to write. The Doctors and PNP at Parkway seem great. It's the general and completely unhelpful attitude of their staff that warrants this low rating. After leaving a message for a Doctor's assistant (no one ever answers their phone) do not expect to get a return phone call. Additionally since Parkway is not a "Clinic", routine things like X-Rays, etc. are scheduled through a third party. THEY EXPECT THE PATIENT TO DO THIS INTERACTION. Unbelievable! And finally, if you are ever in the office, expect nothing but disgusted looks if you ask any of the Staff for help. I feel sorry for the Doctors and the PNP. They seem caring and professional. I really think they need to take a hard look at their staff's attitude and approach to caring for their Patients. read more

I have the best primary care physician in the entire Austin area! Dr. Keller is a VERY good doctor, and this is coming from a clinical pharmacist (PharmD) who deals with many doctors on a daily basis. I have been going to his private practice office since he opened it over 5 years ago...and even though I moved from Pflugerville to East Austin, I still happily make the drive up to P'ville to see Dr. Keller whenever I have any health concerns I can't deal with on my own (or when it's been too long for him to fax refills in to my pharmacy). His staff is extremely nice and have become dear to my heart as well. His nurse Corina is a very busy lady but still manages to be an EXCELLENT nurse! The office manager Linda is also very kind and professional, and the front desk coordinator/receptionist Blanca is THE BEST! Dr. Keller and Ann Marie are by far the BEST combination for a PCP off. I have never see Dr. Phillips, so I cant add anything on her, but I am assuming she would be just as fantastic since it is Dr. Keller practice I believe, and he seems to have his shit together. He is great, and at high demand, but understandable, because he is AMAZING, has patience, and LISTENS. He has improved my health over all and has no trouble talking about new issues when needed. Ann-Marie, takes same day appointment, to help with the heavy load, and the immediate needs of patients. Had to use her once, and she took the time to speak with me and didn't limit me to a 5 min appointment. She was amazing, calm, intelligent, and has an ER back ground that helps make her efficient and appropriate. You don't need antibiotics for every cold people!! After going through many doctors through our Blue Cross website finally after doing research I found Dr. Keller. I am so happy that he treats my husband and I. I've been seeing Dr. Keller for years now, as have my two sons, my husband, and my mom. The staff has always been polite and approachable. Dr. Keller always seems to remember me, and will ask specific questions about my family's health, showing he remembers them too. He takes my concerns and hypotheses seriously, and I never feel dismissed or ignored. He doesn't dumb things down, and answers any question I have without patronizing me. I've never had a doctor who made me feel respected, made me feel I am an expect in myself, made me feel validated. I never feel awkward with him, even though I have traditionally preferred female doctors. I plan to switch doctors only when Dr. Keller retires. He's amazing: part family doc, part diagnostician, part therapist, part life coach. I feel very lucky I found him. read more

I traveled home just to see him for my appointment, arrived checked in and paid. 45 mins later still waiting (mind you the front staff AND office manager knew I was there) but I was not taken back because when I called I did not leave a message I hung up b/c the front desk watched the phone ring and didn't pick up. So I left and left a message with the incompetent office manager to ask Dr Keller to please call and we could do the consult over the phone since I already paid. That never happened instead I was told I did not leave a message so they were unable to take me back and I never got a call from Dr Keller. Since then the message on their phone has changed stating DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. So I guess she saw her way didn't work. Sadly, I made the choice to find care elsewhere and I guess I am glad I did since I have figured out its not the doctors way that goes it the incompetent office manager Linda who calls the shots regardless of the situation.
