Hank Johnson, owner of Stone Artistry, came out personally to assess our situation and sent us an estimate the next morning. We appreciated his vast knowledge of his craft as he took stock of our situation. It's obvious that he has decades of experience under his belt. Hank has a good sense of humor and is a very personable. He made us feel at ease and that we could trust his assessment of things. His communication was consistent and responsive both by email and text. He kept us updated about where progress on the job stood and what we could expect moving forward. His crew was courteous and kept the job-site organized and tidy. At one point Hank noted to us that the wall required more attention to shore it up and avoid faster deterioration down the road. His added estimate was fair and he made it very clear as to why the additional work was needed. Hanks' crew not only repaired the portion of the wall and made it look really good- but they cleaned the surface of the entire wall and removed sand and dirt that had accumulated at its base. There were many larger pieces of flagstone and other rocks that didn't get used in the repair job and Hank's crew left all of that on premises - which felt very honest! We will absolutely hire them again in the future.

Jhonny was recommended to us by an old colleague and he surpassed any of the expectations we could have had. After recently purchasing our first home, we needed someone to build a kitchen on the rental floor and were struggling to find someone consistent who came as highly recommended as Jhonny did. Here is a list (in no particular order) of all the reasons Jhonny deserves 10 out of 5 stars and why you should consider him for your future contracting needs. 1) Responsible - Jhonny was ALWAYS on time. And by on time, I mean he arrived 15 -20 minutes before the scheduled start time in order to look for parking and drop off all materials. 2) Clear communication - Jhonny gave an honest and transparent explanation of what he could and could not do. He gave us day-by-day updates on the project as it progressed. He would go out of his way to accommodate not just what we needed, but little touches that he thought might make the final product look and function that much better. 3) Good Record-Keeping - Jhonny provided us with a detailed invoice at the start of the project and upon giving him a downpayment he e-mailed us an updated invoice that recorded the remaining total and confirmed receipt of the money. 4) Problem solver - Most contractors do what you ask them to do and leave. Jhonny works collaboratively with you and even offers up suggestions about how to make adjustments that could help with pricing/function/visual appeal. 5) Safety - Jhonny consistently wore his mask throughout the two weeks we worked together and with the exception of one weekend where he brought someone to help him finish the painting, he was the only person that entered our space. He is someone you can trust in your home and there is no price tag that can be placed on that peace of mind. We are already planning our future home projects with Jhonny. He's coming back in January for a door and closet shelving installation. This man is worth every penny he charges. Get on his calendar as soon as you can. He books up quickly, as he should.

We stayed in regular contact on project progress, changes, challenges and updates, with him providing useful solutions at every point rather than just announcing an issue! Chris has great energy and loves his work, clearly putting pride into the room. I'll certainly be using him again in future!

We signed a contract with this contractor on June 9 to repair our deck. The contract clearly states…read morethat the project was to be completed by July 4. Today is July 16, and the project is still not even halfway finished. From the very beginning, the project was poorly managed. Work started late, crews were not sent as promised, there were days when no one showed up at all, and when workers did arrive, they often worked only a few hours before leaving. Communication was extremely poor. Our phone calls and messages were frequently ignored, and we were constantly forced to chase the contractor for updates. The job site was repeatedly left in an unsafe and unacceptable condition. Construction debris and garbage were left scattered around our property instead of being cleaned up or removed. We have two puppies, and they were injured because of the debris that was left behind. No homeowner should have to worry about the safety of their family or pets because a contractor failed to maintain a safe work site. This is a clear breach of contract. To make matters worse, the contractor knew we have an important event at our home next week and that completing the deck before then is extremely important to us. Rather than honoring the terms of the signed contract, he has used our time-sensitive situation to demand additional money that is not required under our written agreement. Work has now stopped altogether, even though the contract does not permit this. At this point, the lack of progress raises serious concerns about whether this company has the experience or ability to complete this type of project efficiently. Regardless of the reason, there is simply no justification for a project that was supposed to be completed by July 4 to still be less than halfway finished on July 16. Also, they tried to use subprime replacement material - not exactly what we had (for example: iron nails, instead of stainless steel that was used in the past) until I had to fight them for it. As a result, we intend to pursue legal action for breach of contract and seek all damages available under the law. I would strongly caution anyone considering hiring this contractor. If you would like to see the signed contract, our communications, photos documenting the project's progress, and other evidence of this experience, please feel free to contact me directly at feruza.esanova@gmail.com I am happy to share the documentation so others can make an informed decision before hiring this company.
