Instead of staying with Burns Kish, we drove up the street where our family trust was violated, we were told lies, gouged in price and told we were the worst family ever. However, they couldn't answer me as to how they came to this awful conclusion. Funeral homes should never advocate for familial unity when their was none prior to the passing of the decedent. They shouldn't pass judgement or stick their nose where it doesn't belong, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, we weren't at Burns Kish. We learned a great lesson and will do my best to spread the news. Burns Kish is the best funeral home in Munster. You can trust them to meet your needs at a time of grief and loss. They will respect you.! I've been there and I know! I needed to have my parents ashes separated so me and my siblings could each have some. On the way to the airport, I stopped at the funeral home. She asked if they had done my parents' funerals. I was a bit embarrassed and said "no, but they lived around the corner." After explaining what I wanted, she quickly separated the ashes into three containers and brought them back to me. I asked her what was the charge. She said "No charge. Happy to do it." I was blown away. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting (a few $100 dollars maybe) but I wasn't expecting it for free. And that was it.
