The church appears to have extensive facilities and staff volunteers for the kids' program and a vibrant program of activities for men, women, kids, seniors, etc. Easy to find with available parking. Huge main church room with great music amplification, lighting, and AV equipment. There's also a sort of fellowship hall/coffee room for post-service meet and greets, but we didn't stay for that part. Since this was a special presentation and service, I am not too aware of the specific focus or views of this church, pastor, and elders. They partner with the Auburn food bank, Chinook Elementary Schools, The city Parks and Rec. department for food drives, and periodic work days and renovations. One month ago today, the police showed up at my front door and gave me the devastating news that my…read more24 year old son passed away. I will never be the same again, yet will continue to trust and have faith in the Lord. God truly gives peace that passes all understanding, which is something I could not fabricate. I was in Minnesota at the time where my husband and I own a home, but the majority of the family live in Washington state. My daughter in law called several churches in that area where we could hold Jacob's memorial service. The people at Calvary were so kind and helpful. We were touched by the fact that funerals or memorial services are offered free of charge for families as a community outreach. The church provides the building, parking, pastor, funeral coordinator, printed programs, chair set up and take down if you need additional seating. The church also provides a tech team to help with the the music, and a separate reception team. The reception team did a beautiful job with decorating. They also provide the coffee, tea, cups, silverware, plates, napkins etc. Basically everything is free of charge except the food. When the reception was over the team gathered the food that had been brought in and packaged it up for us and loaded it into our car. The team stays behind to clean up with the dishes, tables and chairs, etc. Kathy who is the community outreach director and Sandy who is one of the volunteers were so helpful and organized. I feel that when families experience this horrible kind of tragedy, it is such a blessing to have someone from the church do so much of the leg work, offer their facility and the many people who donate their time to help others. To the wonderful staff at Calvary. With my deepest thanks, I appreciate your generosity and kindness during our most heartbreaking time in our lives. To my son Jacob. You will forever live in my heart, and I long to see you again in heaven where there will be no more death, sadness or pain, but everlasting life. To God. Gods truth is so good and it brings so much freedom in our lives! Another reason I'm thankful for Stone is because of the authentic community that genuinely cares for one another. The relationships in the church are loving, kind, and sacrificial. It is a huge blessing to have friends that care for you not just on Sunday but throughout the week and in the trials of daily life. I spent a long time looking for a church that was God centered and rightly guided and frankly while no church is perfect, this church was perfect for us. We help out with sound, lights and projection on the odd Sunday or we sit in the second row, feel free to come and visit and find my husband and I. I would love to do church with you and introduce you to my pastors Andy, Brian and Abel, who are some of the best spiritual leaders I have had the pleasure of meeting. If you want a church that is perfect, has all the best people, only sings the songs you like and gives sermons that won't offend you or challenge you then this is not the place for you.... However, if you want a place to come, where you will be welcomed and loved regardless of where you are at in your walk with God; if you want a place that will challenge you spiritually to be better, that will give you a place to connect with other believers and to worship with people who want to be here and want to just do life together; then this is the place for you. This is real life application teaching people! It's not sugarcoated nor should it be. Casey is charismatic, really charismatic! He's an awesome speaker. He's a great pastor too, but with thousands in attendance...he needs to speak well, and that he does. He captures and holds your attention. Wendy is great too, very focused in women's teaching. Relatable. I've never learned more about how to be a better wife, mother and contagious christian as I did in my years of attendance at CFC. They are tools that I will never lose. I have kept all my notes from all those years because the lessons were SO GOOD. This is not the scandalous church you've seen in the news, there is nothing shady happening here. If you are not at a point in your faith to give, don't. Pray about it, but don't stop going! This place is the real deal. I promise. :)
