I will never be the same again, yet will continue to trust and have faith in the Lord. God truly gives peace that passes all understanding, which is something I could not fabricate. I was in Minnesota at the time where my husband and I own a home, but the majority of the family live in Washington state. My daughter in law called several churches in that area where we could hold Jacob's memorial service. The people at Calvary were so kind and helpful. We were touched by the fact that funerals or memorial services are offered free of charge for families as a community outreach. The church provides the building, parking, pastor, funeral coordinator, printed programs, chair set up and take down if you need additional seating. The church also provides a tech team to help with the the music, and a separate reception team. The reception team did a beautiful job with decorating. They also provide the coffee, tea, cups, silverware, plates, napkins etc. Basically everything is free of charge except the food. When the reception was over the team gathered the food that had been brought in and packaged it up for us and loaded it into our car. The team stays behind to clean up with the dishes, tables and chairs, etc. Kathy who is the community outreach director and Sandy who is one of the volunteers were so helpful and organized. I feel that when families experience this horrible kind of tragedy, it is such a blessing to have someone from the church do so much of the leg work, offer their facility and the many people who donate their time to help others. To the wonderful staff at Calvary. With my deepest thanks, I appreciate your generosity and kindness during our most heartbreaking time in our lives. To my son Jacob. We both now help with the Youth ministry. Jeffery, the lead pastor, for the South Hill Campus (there are also locations in South Kitsap, Silverdale, Sumner and a Spanish Language Service in Puyallup), brings the word in a fresh, easy to connect with way that feels really applicable to the constantly changing and fast paced times we live in. We love the church's vision, to present hope and develop people. I have seen first hand the positive impact the church has had on my family and in my community. This is not the only church in Puyallup, it certainly isn't the perfect church (because real people go here) but it has proved to be the perfect place for my family and I to worship, grow, and serve.
