We had fun and the kids had lots of fun. But later in the evening we did have some problems with a ride operator in the kids area. He seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. Kids went on and then when they got off they decided they wanted to go on again. He scanned their wristbands again to let them on then yells for them to come back once they entered and when I asked what's wrong he yells at me in another language first and then says it's closed go find another ride. The other parents and I were confused as to what just happened as he walked to another ride and began a conversation with another worker and was laughing. read more

$5 to park. $6 to get in with pre-purchased tickets. $7 foot-long corn dogs that have a disproportionate meat to batter ratio with it being extremely heavy on the batter side. $6 for a fun but short log ride. $7 beer pints. $3 bottle of water. I'm up to $34 for one evening at a local fair that takes about one hour to see in its entirety. Sure, I saw a good musical trio playing blue grass and rock-a-billy for free in the grassy area. And sure, I saw Foreigner free with fair admission. But were these "free" events really free? Not exactly. I did not need to buy a beer, a ride or a corn dog. With the heat of the summer, water was necessary. With a car, parking was necessary. There is a lot of necessary cost at the fair and I just don't see it as being worth it. Yet I fall for it every year because I like the acts they get for their bands. Darius Rucker, Sheryl Crow, Foreigner, George Thorogood all performed just this year. In the past I've seen the Beach Boys, ZZ Top and Weird Al too. All good stuff. I just wish everything didn't break the bank. read more

It seems a little lame this year I'm sorry to say. There are hardly any good foods to eat and the food that we did get tasted over cooked and bland. And where are all the shopping stands? It's gotten too expensive. We spent almost over 40 dollars for food that wasn't even to rave about when we could have went to a restaurant with good food and even get ourselves drinks. Had a absolute blast. Lines where ok and the games where fun. Had a great interaction with all the workers there even talked a guy into winning the very hat on his head. Tried the fried pickles amazing, the fried butter yes you read that right fried butter haha definitely worth the try I must say. read more

I just got back from a day at the Fair. It was a million degrees(105 when I got out of the car), and they had prepared for that. Cooling misters are located throughout the fairgrounds. During my wanderings I saw many things, prize winning rabbits, chickens, table settings, photographs, paintings and collections of various things from people all over the local area. I watched a turkey race, I pet a baby deer and a Wallaby, and I ate food on a stick. I tried Pizza on a stick, Kielbasa Kebab on a stick, and had a great Italian Ice (sans stick). The food is great, and the events are awesome. Who knew you could see such awesome sights at a fair? Tonight's event was a figure eight race. It was very entertaining. Cars whipping around a track, trying to blow through the middle without being smashed by the other cars. They followed that up with a trailer figure eight race. Cars towing trailers whipping around a track, trying to blow through the middle without being smashed to bits. Towards the end of the race, the track looked like a scrapyard. It was fairly awesome. I didn't do any of the rides, so I can't really comment on them, but I had three and a half hours to meander around, and I wish I had more. I went last year, and I plan on going again next year. Great thing to do. Makes me feel more connected to the area in which I live. read more

The food is good but a little pricey, like any fair I guess. Remember where you park because the parking lot was packed. And again buy the tickets and wrist bands ahead of time, it's cheaper. I love running into people talking and moving on, them running into more people. That's the best social media, face to face. Lol read more

Decent sized fair , you will feel like a true California Criminal as you enter , nothing like being surrounded by California's finest and going through the metal detector and practically strip searched . Never have I ever got to experience such a true loss of self respect before entering a public event ... Lots of rides , tons of stuff to see ... Don't listen to the band sounds of Santana ... They should have stayed in Sacramento .... read more

Went to the fair last nite. Saw a great concert: Trace Adkins-XLNT! Also, I have to say that the whole affair from parking/attendants to entry (purse/backpack check) to vendors as well as fair attendees, was a very positive experience! Very well organized, we felt very safe (lots of sheriff deputies-thank u!), friendly people, beautiful/interesting exhibits! $5 parking not too expensive. Food-typical, high calorie/expensive. Bathrooms and grounds VERY clean! Art exhibits-beautiful and impressive-saw a friend's daughter's entry w/a blue ribbon! read more

Record crowds with no issues, great concerts, great food and awesome friends! This is a very good fair. It's quite large, wth a lot of rides. My wife and I went to see Third Eye Blind which we really enjoyed seats in the gold circle. Although, one of the staff was rude to us. After we were seated nearly an hour before the show by one of their attendants, another attendant abruptly grabbed us from our seats midway through the opening band. She didn't even tell us where to go until we protested to security. Apparently the first attendant put us in the 2nd row due to our tickets saying row 2. Apparently, row 2 is actually 4 rows back, and row BB is 2 rows from the stage. The stupid seating numbers need to be changed, and the staff needs to be more knowledgable and polite. Also, this is the only concert I've ever seen with no spotlight for the lead singer. He was in the dark with only minimal effect lights for the entire performance. The overhead lighting rack only used around 10% of their effect lights. Makes taking pictures very difficult. Attention fair, get a freakin spotlight. read more

The fair is always an amazing experience I have been coming since the year I was born :) Every year it gets better and better. The upgrade years ago to the new facility was awesome. This years concerts have been very entertaining including a lesser known artist in concert today that impressed. I will definitely continue going. I highly recommend the emblem club tacos, corn dogs with lemonade and the funnel cake. read more

The fair is just okay. The 5 dollar parking, isnt a big deal. But when you are paying to park, you should be treated with respect. There is a man out there that will slam his hand on your car, and yell at you through the window. He is beyond out of control. We also called to report him, and nothing was done about it. When we told him that we had reported him, he just said, oh I know. RUDE!! And ridiculous! Come on, AV Fair, you should be better than that and not treat your customers like crap! read more

I enjoy the fair every year but I miss the old fair grounds in the move we lost so much it would be better if there were more very large trees and benches to sit on in the shade please bring the old traditions the new grounds gets four stars the old grounds would have gotten 5 stars read more

We performed at the Friday Aug. 26th ZZ Tush A Tribute To ZZ Top. I was blown away at this fair. I have NEVER met a staff of people so helpful and mostly willing to help. I can't say enough of the way I was treated. I'm still amazed. I wish nothing but the best of luck to those of you I had the pleasure in meeting. Just got back from the fair tonight. $5 parking, $9 to get in, $7 crappy Hotdogs, $6.50 for a beer, $3.50 medium soda. $4.00 Regular size ice cream, $4.00 cotton candy. Kid's rides were outrageously priced. About $10.00 for 20 tickets gets you two or three rides. For some reason bringing a family to what should be an affordable event put together for the community cost an arm and a leg. Watching a group of gang-bangers argue and fight. PRICELESS. read more

I purchased tickets at the mall and I was charged incorrectly. The lady at the mall did not know how to refund my money to me and no one was answering at the fair office because it was a Saturday. I was owed $200.00 from the AV Fair and I was given nothing when I left the mall on Saturday except that someone would call me Monday regarding my refund. Monday Cali called and stated that she would refund the money to my account and it could take up to 5 business days. Then she asked if I would like to re-purchase the tickets and she would mail them to me. I would like my money returned to me first, so I said no I will wait. Then I received the confirmation email that stated I would have my money back in 2-10 days. I was not happy with the way this was handled at all. I paid with a debit card and they had my money immediately I expect when its your error to receive my money back just as quick. Cali didn't seem to care, she told me that she had refunded the money and basically what else did I want. read more
