After visiting the castle, I was starving -- and just down the hill, this was the first food joint I spotted. I couldn't wait any longer to find another place.
It's a food truck located near what looks like a church, and it seemed pretty busy. The menu was limited -- mostly Fish & Chips and a couple of other options (check my pic for the full menu). They serve their own version of the British classic.
I went with the UK favorite: Fish & Chips (made with haddock) and added homemade tartare sauce for an extra £2.
The fish was fresh and perfectly fried -- not burnt at all. But once again... why the thick-cut fries? I've never been a fan of those chunky chips with fish, but I guess that's just a UK thing.
There were about 4-5 round tables, shared among 2-3 nearby food trucks. It's a great setup for a sunny or cloudy day, but I wonder how they manage when it rains, which is pretty often around here! read more
