My only complaint is that when the lady who usually runs the cash register is helping you find something in the store, she will suddenly ask another customer what they are looking for even though she isn't done helping you yet. I've been in the situation where I was the person being helped and she decided to help someone else and I've been the person who has been waiting patiently while she helps someone else and they've been interrupted while she asks me what I'm looking for. Aside from this one thing, though, wonderful place and I recommend going there.

Cupboards are good, the problem is the so called installation specialists. An appointment was necessary to get advice for cupboards. That first professional advised getting to-the-ceiling cupboards. She had photos of the kitchen. The second professional came to the home to take professional measurements. Both of them missed the fact that the ceiling light fixture would block to-the-ceiling cupboards. Installation specialists came and made the space for the stove half an inch too small, stove doesn't fit. The countertop arrived with a chip in it. My neighbor spent hours on the phone trying to get help. After several calls IKEA agreed to replace the countertop, and that repair people would call to make an appointment. She would have to find her own electrician to move the light or have all cupboards taken out and redone. No repair person called. After waiting several days she spent more hours calling IKEA who then said the case had been closed. All the waiting took over 2 weeks with NO KITCHEN. No water, no sink, no oven, everything ripped out of cupboards. None of the so-called professionals has done their job so far, not from day one. So, not recommended. Save your money and get your own contractor

The quick service kiosk offers cheap hot dogs, ice cream and drinks. The food area has all your favorite items including the famous Swedish meatballs, candies, and cookies. I made a warrant claim, as the couch was defective and falling apart. Despite them advertising that they would cover 100% of the cost when purchased, they only provided me with 70% of cost. I wasn't thrilled but it wasn't the end of the world. I then decided to purchase a love-seat recliner from a salesperson named Chris. Everything seemed pretty straightforward with the purchase at the time. I got a call a couple of weeks after purchase confirming that delivery would be on a specific date. Due to my work schedule, I had to book off the entire day in order to be home. I get a call after the purchase asking if I'd like to buy warranty on the couch, and I agree. I go back in to the store and meet with Chris, who helps me with the purchase of the warranty. Right as I purchase the warranty, he says he might have made a mistake on the delivery. I clarify what that means, and he says to not worry about it as he will fix it, and it's just a technical problem. I confirm with him that I should still expect delivery on the agreed upon date and he says yes. Fast forward to the day before the expected delivery, I receive a call from the Brick, asking what day I'd like to have delivery on. I told them that it was already confirmed for tomorrow, but they tell me that Chris cancelled the delivery date when I came in to purchase the warranty. I asked to speak with Chris who just continued to dodge my questions and told me I have to book a new date. I asked to speak with the manager, Steve, who was also unprofessional and just kept telling me that Chris told me previously that he changed the delivery date (which was incorrect). When I told him how frustrating it was that I took a day off work for nothing, he told me that I got the couch on sale so I should just be happy with what I'm getting. Not only was it beyond frustrating to have my delivery date moved for no reason, and not being told about it until the day before, I was also extremely disappointed with how Chris and Steve dealt with it. I've shopped at the Brick on Kenaston and bought about four different types of furniture from them. Every purchase from the Brick on Kenaston was seamless, and the staff were super easy to deal with, however this is my first interaction with the Brick on Regent, and I am beyond frustrated. He went back before the store closed an hour or so after the purchase and they made an excuse not to honour it, saying the salesperson who helped him had to do the transaction. Well, my husband was on a schedule for work and could not stick around until the next day the salesperson returned so they said they would call us and honour the coupon. They never called. It is a year and 2 months later. We were regular customers at the Calgary store. We are disppointed at the service.

I love seeing what a community is discarding or donating for a second life, and I love the people in thrift stores who are all, like me, looking for a treasure, however they'll define that. And I especially love the community spirit of these small town shops where folks - mostly older ladies - are hanging out and exchanging news and giving old items new purpose and raising money to help each other out. The MCC thrift stores are I think my favourite. Mennonite Community shops in prairie towns. You have to get lucky here just like everywhere else, nothing in life is guaranteed, but anywhere you can thrift with an older community that values quality goods, and where demand is low you are going to find some beautiful things at very low prices. The Kildonan MCC is a Winnipeg example of the above, not as exceptional as the ones in smaller towns, but it's not in the city center either, and it's quite large and we did find some gems here and definitely found good vibes.
