I have never had Polish food so this appetizer was a great sampler of the classic peirogi, potato pancake, and sausage - all of these were a 5 out of 5. My favorite was the meat peirogi. Stuffed cabbage (golabki) was hearty (5 out of 5). The tomato sauce tasted simple and brought the dish together. It had good ratios. My favorite was the mashed potatoes because it tasted like it had no additives such as heavy cream, but rather just straight potatoes. Cucumber and dill salad was a refreshing side. It was nice having fresh vegetables to balance the heaviness of the appetizer and entree. The seating arrangement is quaint, which I liked. Our waitress was very nice and answered our questions well. Dear Anna, I know this review is from our Mother's Day visit, and I'm sorry I wasn't able to get it to you sooner. I wanted to make sure you received it because we have been coming to your restaurant for the past 12 years and have always appreciated both the food and the service. On Mother's Day, when my son asked where I would like to eat, my immediate answer was, "Anna's." Because we had other commitments that day, we decided to order carryout instead. Unfortunately, the meal was extremely disappointing. I hate to say that because we have always enjoyed your cooking, but the quality of the food that day was far below what we have come to expect from your restaurant. We ordered two orders of potato pancakes, stuffed cabbage, pierogi, two pork schnitzel entrées, a Polish Platter, cucumber and dill salad, and a Polish beer while waiting. With the tip included, our total was approximately $160. The potato pancakes barely tasted like potatoes and had very little seasoning. The stuffed cabbage was very small and bland for the price. The pierogi were acceptable, although $17.59 for six pieces seemed expensive. The pork schnitzels were dry, and the Polish Platter was particularly disappointing. The cabbage roll was again bland and undersized, the sauerkraut was watery and tasted canned, and the sausage was tough and burnt. The one item we truly enjoyed was the cucumber and dill salad, which was fresh and flavorful. I completely understand that Mother's Day is an especially busy day for restaurants, and I realize that may have contributed to the experience. Still, we have never received food of this quality from your restaurant before, which is why it was so surprising and disappointing. In the past, whenever we visited, you were always in the kitchen, and we consistently enjoyed your cooking. This experience felt very different and honestly made me wonder if someone else had prepared the food that day. I'm sharing this with you because we have supported your restaurant and enjoyed it for many years. Authentic polish food and super friendly service! I've been wanting to try Anna's for a long time and finally stopped in last weekend. I was just snacking so I will have to go back for a full meal, but the pierogies, sausage, and potato cakes were all fantastic! I also had the pickle soup and really enjoyed it. I had my service dog so we sat outside on the patio, but the service was super friendly and they brought a dog bowl for my pup. It's been quite a while since I've been here......after a raving review meal I had last time, I was hoping for a similar meal....I was not disappointed. I really Love this place. We went with my parents for their anniversary....my parents had been wanted to try this place as I've been telling them about it. My father passed about a month later, so he was able to try it before and he really enjoyed the meal (we all did). I order the Snitzel w/ Potato Pancakes. This place does not disappoint. THe Snitzel was flavorful and cooked just right and the potatoes were authentic to their core. The dining area sits on the edge of casual and slightly upscale. I have been wanting to try Anna's for quite some time and finally got the family onboard with going. Unfortunately the date we chose was just bad timing as when we walked in they told us the wait would be longer for food since they had a large party. I was sad but decided to stay since it's not that close to where we live and we had brought our kids. Once we did get our food we did enjoy it and glad I finally tried it but I am not in a complete rush to come back. I feel I should have tried more items but this is a place where I wouldn't take the kids again because it wasn't for them. read more

A phenomenal and homely hole-in-the-wall. The food was delicious and comfy, staff attentive and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was so welcoming! Anna's is the type of restaurant that serves such delicious food, you can overlook pretty much everything else! I don't say that lightly but I was so thoroughly pleased by the meal! On arrival, we did have to wait. But that's on us for not making reservations. Definitely call ahead if you plan to dine during peak. But our party of five was seated at what was really a table sized for four. It was a bit of a squeeze and somewhat awkward but we managed. Additionally, the service was a bit slow due to understaffing. The restaurant was packed and I saw two servers holding it down all night. We were seated at 7:30 and didn't get a check until 10pm. That said, the server was very friendly and as attentive as he could be given the circumstances. The long wait was ultimately worth it. We started the table with some potato pancakes which were divine. They came served with sour cream and applesauce and the applesauce was such a hit! It was packed with cinnamon and warm spice. I loved it so much I took a side home for dessert. The main meal was varied around the table but consisted of some variety. Everyone had pierogies which were excellent! So fluffy and flavorful. They were a part of the polish platter that I had ordered and likely my favorite part of the dish. But it was a close call. The platter also included kielbasa and stuffed cabbage. I nearly cleaned the plate! This was definitely a hardy, stick to the ribs type of meal. So come hungry! I'd definitely return but would try to avoid another weekend. It's easy to drive by and not notice this gem of a family-owned restaurant in Winter Park. My husband spotted it and we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by Joanna and she was also our server. The recipes on the menu are her mom's/family recipes, so her recommendations were even more helpful as she explained the menu to us. We opted for the sampler-style appetizer to get a taste of several things on the menu. The potato pancakes were dense and tasty with the sour cream and cinnamon spreads on the side. The cinnamon "jam" was very cinnamon-y. I loved it, but just a heads up. Kielbasa was cooked perfectly. Soft and juicy inside, a little crusty shell but not hard. Pierogis were the star to me. Light dumplings filled with pork in one and sauerkraut in the other - I need a plate of these for my last meal. We decided to share the entrees and glad we did! Gypsy Potato Pancake was Joanna's top suggestion and she wasn't wrong. Pancakes stacked with goulash (yes please!) very hearty dish, come hungry or with my husband who helped me finish it. The Silesian Dumplings with Meat Pyzy are round potato dumplings stuffed with ground pork meat served with your choice of bacon pieces or homemade mushroom sauce and one side order. My husband selected the mushroom sauce which was light and flavorful (I tasted a hint of white wine) and side of fingerling dumplings, which were light tasting similar to pierogis but no filling. Holy guacamole. We went here about a month or two ago when looking for food options. Decided to try and find a mom and pop place vs a chain. This play was absolutely wonderful and a must visit. I am not a polish food expert but this place seemed quite authentic and family owned. The restaurant has clearly been in business for a long time. The inside felt very traditional. We tried a little bit of everything from the mushroom soup which was filled with chopped mushrooms in an excellent cream sauce, to the potatoes pancakes which came with homemade apple sauce, the beef goulash, and a mixed selection of Pierogis. I'm part of a dinner group that frequents local restaurants serving ethnic cuisine. We chose Anna's for our outing this month. I think we were all very excited to try authentic Polish food. Our server was very sweet and polite and she was happy to answer any questions we might have had (as I typically do when dining somewhere for the first time). Our orders all came out as we requested. I ordered their appetizer trio as my entrée - it came with 2 pierogies (I chose the potato and cheese ones) that are topped with caramelized onion and served with sour cream), 2 potato pancakes that are served with sour cream and homemade cinnamon applesauce, and a Polish sausage. I made one substitution to the platter by getting one stuffed cabbage roll instead of the sausage. If you ever want a really good pierogi filled with potato and cheese, the ones they serve at Anna's are exceptional. Light and fluffy filling with a soft doughy exterior. The caramelized onion was very good, although they could have been just a little more generous with the amount given (at least in my opinion). My only complaint about the pierogi is that they could have been just a little larger. To order them as an entrée on their own, I wouldn't think they were worth the price charged. The potato pancake...I think theirs is made using mashed potatoes, unlike the ones I'm used to where they're made with shredded potatoes. The big plus was the crispy edges. I loved that bit of crunch. I think that they could have been a little larger and definitely could have used a little more flavor. There was definitely something missing from them. Can't quite pinpoint what it needed, but it needed something. The stuffed cabbage roll...I don't know if I can write anything positive about it. I like a nicely stuffed cabbage roll but the filling in this was super dense. It was almost like cutting into a meatball that wasn't tender. And the filling had no flavor whatsoever. The tomato sauce didn't have any hint of a tomato taste. And it had a brownish hue to it and again, lacked any flavor. One bite was enough for me. Looking around the table, the one thing that was apparent was the lack of color on the dishes. Brownish seemed to be the theme. Growing up in the restaurant industry, I learned that you eat with your eyes first...color is needed to make the dish look appealing. All you saw was brown. Lots of brown. I expect a restaurant to be busy on an average Friday night but it took a long time just to place our orders and even longer to get them. There was a long wait for appetizers for those that ordered them. There was another table that arrived well after us and got their orders well before we did. We were told AFTER we had completed our dinner that they had been busy and also had a lot of Uber Eats orders. It would have been nice if this was explained much earlier so that we wouldn't be wondering why it was taking so long to get our entrees (at least an hour). To be quite honest, I'm not sure if I'd be willing to go back. There were just a few too many things that I was unsatisfied with. read more
