But my main…read morereason for this review is that I recently signed up for Meditation 1, a class that is 6 weeks long and I had a bad experience. So I signed up for 6-week class that is in the evenings once a week. The first week, the very first day I missed due to car problems. The Institute called me and wanted to have a discussion with me on why I missed and whether I was going to continue. I thought it was strange but being that it was the first class I didn't say anything. Then the second class came and I again had a personal issue and was not able to attend. Now I paid for these classes. My spot is guaranteed whether I show up or not. They are still making their money if I don't show. What really blew me away is the Institute called my home again and once again demanded to know why I didn't show up to class etc. I was told at the beginning that if I had issues I can miss up to two classes. So when I missed the first class they sent me a recording of the class and I listened to it. When I missed the second class, I asked for the recording and they refused to give it to me unless I talked to them first. They wanted to grill me on why I missed etc. I was very upset and disturbed by this. This is a business that I'm paying money to, to give me a 6-week class. Why I show up or not is none of their business, I feel. You got your money. I'm paying for the slot, if I miss I miss. I am the only one who suffers by this, not THEM. I do not need a company to call me and police me and talk to me like I'm a child and figure out why I didn't show up and delve into my personal life. I feel that they are extremely entitled! Just because someone gives you money for a class or a product does not entitle you to private personal information in their life! Especially if they do not want to share it. Also, In the first conversation when they called, I had shared with the owner that I do not care for men. That is my own issue and not something I would ever ask a business anything like, oh you can't have men in my presence. When I missed the class the second time, they had a male call me to try to interrogate me. I refused to engage. I sent an email asking them for a recording of the class and they refused to send it to me unless they spoke with me via phone. What? Not even your doctor's office calls you and asks you why you didn't show? I don't know a single company that is that intrusive that calls you and ask for personal information and expects you to delve into your personal life. That they feel entitled to of all things!! Well I refuse to be handled like this so I did not answer the phone when they called. Then they sent me an email dropping me and giving me a refund because they feel that," I am not a good fit". They also tried to use the excuse that it was because I don't like men. I never said that they couldn't have men around. I just made a statement that I don't like men. Not once did I ask them to not have them around. So for them to try to use that excuse for dropping me to me was a joke. I did say to them I don't like that a man or anybody from your company is calling me. They were dropping me because I refused to comply. Excuse me? What is this a cult? Why are you trying to control your people and get into their lives and insist on information that is not your business? Why do you think that you are ENTITLED to my private information that is none of your business. So I was dropped because I refused to share that information and go with their demands. What I don't understand is why there aren't a lot more people out there protesting this? They owner told me that it is routine for them. That when someone misses a class that they call you to find out why. I find this completely inappropriate and disturbing. We are adults! We do not need other people to come in and police or try to control our actions. Especially a company that you are paying money to! Why aren't more people complaining about this? Are they just sheep? I worry that this is a cult because I was dropped because I would not let them control me and they weren't able to force information out of me that I refused to give. So be careful people if you want to take these classes. Also FYI the owner is very unprofessional. I could elaborate on that but that's not the biggest problem they have there.

This is a follow up review. I've read almost every Qigong book out there, watched all the youtubes,…read moreand have learned Qigong from multiple instructors in group classes. These all had some benefit, mostly relaxation. But none of these teachings offered me a true sense of Qi cultivation and most importantly actual noticeable health benefits. Asthma, anxiety attacks and back problems are no longer issues Im plagued with. Since learning Nei Dan meditation from Mindful Qigong. The thing that I did not realize is Qigong is a way of life not just a tool. What separates Mindful Qigong is it's a lineage based teaching. That teaches all aspects of the Dao, Qigong, philosophy, TCM, tea ceremony.... in private classes. This allowed me to understand the subtleties of the teaching in a way I could incorporate in my daily life. Leading to substantial results. Mindful Qigong focuses on cultivating your Qi internally and has little to do with breathing exercises or complicated movements. Honestly some of the techniques I thought were weird in the beginning. But that had more to do with my expectations of what Qigong was from my previous experience. As well as a lack of understanding of the basic fundamentals of real Qigong and TCM. Thankfully I stuck with it over the years. Just like anything really worth doing it takes time and energy. My life is much smoother, healthier and happier. Im truly grateful.
