    Looking for small chihuahua?

If you're looking for a specific dog I'd try going into the shelter or following them on Facebook.

What does it cost to have a cat spayed?

They personally don't spray the cats at the shelter, but they have a low cost clinic next door to the shelter. Sprays vary on weight.

    Humane Society

I witnessed a violent dog fight at the Erie Humane Society dog park due to staff negligence -- two…read morelarge dogs were left unsupervised and began mauling each other. Despite my screams for help, no staff responded for nearly 10 minutes. I had to intervene myself and call the police. Staff were dismissive and unprofessional, more upset about my language than the attack. When asked what the problem was, I told them "(the worker) put two dogs in then same outdoor pen and even though they were f****** fighting she left them alone anyway". Which is exactly what happened. The dogs started to fight, the girl yelled at them to stop, and kicked her leg in between them, and then went back inside. It was all completely preventable. An f-bomb after screaming for help for 10-15 minutes is completely warranted. Their behavior was disrespectful to the animals they were supposed to protect. The staffer said "It was too early on a Saturday morning for language like that", "does my mother know I talk like this", that I was "a real piece of work", etc. They literally wanted to gaslight me because I said the f-word rather than address any concerns. One lady who said she was in charge said "they're just shelter dogs, they get triggered easily". If they're so easily triggered why were they left alone while one dog screamed for almost the whole fight? Now on social media they're saying they tried to talk to me but " i wasn't ready to be respectful". Maybe it's because for over 10 minutes I banged on the fence and ran around the outside of the private pen spraying the dogs with a hose screaming at the top of my lungs because NO ONE ELSE was doing anything. To the point I called the cops AND eventually the Dept of Agriculture who oversees kennel licenses. The Dept of Agricultural called me back within 12 hours and then was on site in 24-48 hours. I filed a formal complaint, and the Department of Agriculture conducted an inspection and you can see in my screenshot they it ====required remedial actions===. That says it all. They apparently watch their dogs as closely as they watched their bank account when the director embezzled.

While I was not overly impressed (they once messed up an appointment and didn't apologize or take responsibility and the Vet pointed out that I was "cost conscious" making me feel bad - I mean, who isn't cost conscious?), I decided to give their grooming service a try since I wasn't happy with my old groomer either. HUGE mistake. The groomer I spoke with today was not the same person I'd met when I originally made the appointment. She seemed very young and inexperienced -- I should have trusted my instincts. I even showed her a photo and made it clear I wanted a cut that would last about three months. She suggested a "short, soft" look. My dog had absolutely NO matting, so there was no reason to shave her. Yet that's exactly what they did: a total, all-over shave. This is not a "style" -- it's proof that the groomer lacked the skills to deliver what I asked for. It is lazy, careless, and unacceptable. I am absolutely livid. Terrible service. Completely incompetent. BEWARE: Do not bring your dog here for grooming.

This place is worse than bad from the pet service to the customer service! My heart is literally broken that I didn't read the reviews because the SAME GROOMER who messed all these dogs up in these reviews and went against the owner's wishes, did the same to mine as well. I have been in tears since I left Paws & Claws on Wednesday. I have a GIRL shih tzu that I was VERY, VERY SPECIFIC when I went in to NOT CUT HER HAIR. I even asked the front desk man to get the groomer so I could explain to her personally, and pointed out to both of them that she has black tips that if they're cut will never grow back because the roots are tan.) I explained specifically to the groomer DO NOT TOUCH A STRAND of her hair with a tan root, and that I just wanted her hair TIED* BACK* WITH A BOW, NOOOO CUTTING. When I came to get my dog, no bow, and HER WHOLE FACE AND HEAD IS CUT!!! She looks like a boy. Her forehead had beautiful long hair with black tips- GONE FOREVER, against everything I said. The name of the groomer who ruined my dog is Korrine but spelled differently like Carryn or something. KEEP YOUR DOG FAR FROM HER! She literally looked me in my eyes, nodded her head, and agreed the whole time I was talking and explaining to NOT CUT MY PUPPY'S HAIR to then take my Princess back and VIOLATE HER AND I !!!! FOREVER! My dogs black tips are gone forever, and I pretty much paid $100 to cry myself to sleep. When I called the manager in tears, and explained that if someone came up behind me and cut my hair with some scissors they'd be in JAIL, the manager actually said "well you'd be in jail too, because you'd probably fruitpunch on them." GLAD you comprehend! So, if someone were come in and fruitpunch on Corryn or cut her hair against her will like she did my dog, there's some understanding there. My heart is literally broken, and it can NEVER be undone. It can't be fixed. They just took my money for the worst day of my dogs life, affecting her forever, because they genuinely do NOT CARE what the OWNER wants. They wouldn't even have the girl APOLOGIZE. They just do whatever they feel like doing with no remorse for anything your poor pup endures.. She had ONE instruction. Just one. And it wasn't followed. My poor Remi I'm still crying. I paid a lot of money for my dog and they ruined her beautiful coat I paid so much money for. If you google "shih tzu" and see the picture that comes up, the dogs head isn't all shaved, it's beautifully pulled back LIKE I SPECIFIEDDD AND PAIDDDDD FOR, I don't even know what would make her deliberately go against my orders and cut my dogs hair ! I'm baffled. This is like taking your daughter who is a hair model to a high rated salon to get her hair washed, explaining how much you treasure her long beautiful hair..then they cut it off and shave her eyebrows. I'm livid. A civil suit is being filed this morning. I've contacted them twice since, and not even an apology. No sympathy. No compassion. understanding. Very harsh, sick minded environment to think this is ok. :(
