I've gotten my hair done there a few times and loved it, but I went for a file and polish today and it was very bleh. It was 15 quid so pretty standard price, but the polish went on kinda lumpy, and went on over my recently filed and therefore very dusty nails. It was a rush job and just not worth the money or the effort. The lady who painted my nails was lovely but unfortunately the job she did was a bit sub standard. I'd recommend the nail bar on wicklow st or tropical popical, both of which do a better job for less money.

The therapist who looked after me was lovely and chatty and I got the impression she knew what she was doing. An enzyme peel was applied to my skin, followed by the dermabrasion which is like a small hoover that hoovers up all the dead skin revealing a more youthful and glowing layer of skin. At least that's the idea. After the 'hoover', a soothing mask was applied and some SPF. I was really happy with my treatment and I will return for their special offer of 3 for 150Euro soon.

The clinic is also part of a dental clinic and they offer a variety of specialist treatments for specific skin conditions, IPL hair removal, waxing, semi-permanent makeup and massage. Magda was who did my waxing and she was very nice, professional and quick. The salon was very nice and clean inside, however the availability of appointments is quite limited so it's best to ring for one a few days in advance. Overall, efficient and professional service, nice staff, a variety of treatments available and clean clinic.

Although I had been walking past it for a while I only recently ventured in to have a look (whilst bored and waiting for someone) and I'm so glad I did. Their products are all made with natural ingredients so I don't have to worry about my reacion to the chemicals that you get in some of the high street beauty chains. The staff are really knowledgable about their products and I received such good service from them. They only recommened stuff that they could see was right for me and they weren't pushy in the way some smaller chains can be. The Green tea and orange moisturising toner is particularly good!

So shocked to hear that Saks is closing down. All due to greed by the landlords, this high class…read morehair salon is to be no more. Now I must declare a personal interest here, as my wife Mary has used Saks for nearly 30 years and she has depended on the skills of Bernie, Sue, Sandra, Marie and everyone else, plus of course Ann , who holds it all together. This government is running the country into the ground. Allowing greedy contractors to throw up shitty, cheap hotels while real establishments like Saks go to the wall. And plus give 750 million euros to that joke of a TV company RTE. A couple of years that fine pub in Smithfield The Cobblestone was threatened with demolition to make way for another chappy hotel. The people took to the streets protesting and Thankfully the pub was saved. Well people will always need their hair done, cut or coloured and there are not that many really good hairdressers like Saks around. So the people need to march again and do their best to make their voices heard. KEEP SAKS OPEN.

Imagine to my surprise that I found a hair salon down here. The salon itself is relatively quiet (I think it's mostly because of location!). I'd suggest this place if you're ever in need of a last minute hair cut and you can't manage to get yourself into one of the bigger, more expensive shops. The staff are friendly and the salon is clean and the prices are keen!

What I arrived to was a cosy professional salon using and selling all the usual lovelies- OPI, dermalogica etc. The equipment was all brand new and modern, including my favourite- the heated treatment bed! Wowee. Even though I had a voucher there was no scrimping on the treatments. I find some places try cut corners on these deals. The girl who looked after me was really friendly, she gave some helpful info about the area as the place is quite tricky to find. There was no awkward sales pitch or snide comments encouraging me to buy something I don't need. I will definitely be going back as I know now the low prices are good value, not low standards!
