My dad was apprehensive and nervous about the idea but after one meeting with Rubi he was sold (and so was I). She was friendly, easy to work with, and understood our abilities as well as our personalities to create a perfect dance. We cannot thank her enough for creating such a special memory that we will have forever. Here is a link to our dance if you want to see: https://youtu.be/yJHceCyeF5A

I followed it one night wondering what was going on this late at night and was lead to the Pivot Ballroom. The windows were open, lights flashing, and energy flowing, I went upstairs to check it out and was shocked at how many people were up there dancing away. I was greeted by an enthusiastic and sweet girl, Paola, who explains she runs the Latin Dance Party first and third Friday each month at the Ballroom, she is with Controla Dance Academy. Salsa, Mambo, Bachata, and more! The party goes from 10-1:30, but things start at 8 with dance lessons. 15$ cover before 9, 20$ after. BYOB and BYOF, they do have water and snacks available for free. I usually grab a pizza from Ardmore Pizza and bring it up to share. DJ spinning tunes and loads of people dressed to kill, it's a fun time and well worth checking out! While you are there grab an event calendar, they have lots of dance functions every month.

We knew she would take ice skating lessons but that was not enough. Enter GCMA. I happened to be driving down Haddon Ave when I noticed a sign offered a free trial class for kids. This was perfect, as we were not ready to commit to something out daughter might not like. So, we signed her up for the trial class. She was meek, quiet, and in need of exercise. Garaguso offered the opportunity to help with all of these things. Being a creature of habit and craver of structure, martial arts training turned out to be something she absolutely loved right off the bat. She's grown confident, came out of her shell, and is fully capable of defending herself. Moreover, Garaguso teaches the kids Korean, life lessons, and respect. They have a word of the month for each class, the kids things like honesty and respect. Today, they taught the kids a safe procedure of what to do if you get separated from your parents and the concept of a "safe stranger". Second only to Goddard School, Garaguso is easily the best investment we have made in our child's personal development.

Honestly we have found a path for our sons that was unexpected yet keeps giving back!! After…read moresearching the local area for karate studios for our then 5 year old boy, we pretty much threw in the towel because we just didn't click in any studios with what we thought our son needed. We wanted owners that actually train themselves and hold current credentials, a staff to support those ideals and not only teach technique but also life lessons, and last but not least self discipline/self defense. My Mom works in Haddonfield and in Dec 2013 decided to purchase a promotional package to get our oldest son's feet wet into the martial arts subculture. When she went to the studio she was greeted by a young attentive gentleman who is a 2nd degree black belt himself and owns/runs the operation. She could feel it was a good match! Our son started a week or two later and that was basically the beginning of this path. He started as a super ninja and was exposed to all different techniques and lessons while also doing some fun activities at the end of every class! It helps that he actually is a "natural" which we have to thank not only my Mom but also the instructors for noticing it and also nurturing it. He is currently in solid color belts, the leadership program and STORM team. STORM is an amazing concept to endorse the color belts to take their training a step further and help the younger "ninjas" hone in on their training as on-site role models. This husband/wife team has really taken this studio to another level in this last calendar year. Mrs. Huver , having experience being a First grade teacher, joined the school full-time in the beginning of the summer. She just added a woman's point of view and assisted in tightening up the scheduling and planning. More programs have been added, they periodically hold special events/parties and demos, and they work together on the Dojo which is a great example of support for the children to experience. The decor in the waiting area is constantly changing and keeping everyone's interest. They have this awesome FULL WALL CHALKBOARD that they draw graphics to grab the children's attention but also convey all the information needed (belt testing dates, upcoming events, etc) We have recently started our 3 year old and he loves it too! Our two sons actually train at home together which is a great bonding experience for them. While my lil ninja is on the mat, his older brother is the STORM assistant which is everything a parent could dream of. Watching our two boys grow and learn together is amazing but having them be apart of an amazing studio with a great sense of community is priceless. We feel so lucky to be apart of the GCMA family!

The owner, Barb, is a former exotic dancer and the official House Mom at Club Onyx. Needless to say her pole skills are tried and true. The staff there is SUPER friendly and encouraging even to newbies who haven't the grace of a newborn baby cow. When you go here be prepared to work. The pole classes will more than likely have brand new people as well as advanced and Barb will encourage you to try everything at least once. I found myself doing things that I would've never imagined in my first class (like inversions!). Learned the walk, a couple of spins, and then tried (in vain) to climb the pole. I found in my first class that my arms and core were much to weak for many of the maneuvers but it was a great workout nonetheless. The only drawbacks I can say is that with this style of teaching you'll either feel really inspired by your lack of skill and get a great desire to learn or you'll end up really discouraged that you're not at the level of others and forgo the sport altogether. The methods of teaching here are very "watch me, now you try" which isn't effective for everyone. In addition to pole instruction classes they offer Abs class, Booty Blast (learn to make it clap), and various other sexy fitness courses. After my first class my body hurt like never before. Being a former competitive swimmer, and short distance runner, this pain was still new to me. I literally couldn't lift my hands directly above my head for 2 weeks. It's an awesome workout and a lot of fun.

We are so grateful for Kiddie Academy of Delran! As a first-time Mom I searched high and low for…read morethe best daycares in the area for a variety of reasons: distance, school standards, quality of teachers, teacher to child ratios, cleanliness, price, safety, peanut free facility, and overall vibe. From the beginning I had a good feeling about KA! We knew we were going to have to send our daughter to daycare from the young age of 3 months, so I was not willing to settle. I would be lying if I didn't say it was an adjustment period. As a mom you know what you like, and when you're giving your child over to someone new, it takes time to become comfortable with the style of care. Again, first time mom problems! (lol) Ms. Mary was so patient with all of my questions, concerns, and everything in between! I'll admit, I can be an annoying overprotective mom. There have been a few incidents that have occurred during my daughter's time at KA, but Ms. Mary and the rest of the directors were SO accommodating to our needs. I can't say enough great things about all of the teacher our daughter has had so far. Ms. Michelle in the puppies is a seasoned professional and handles our girl with care at the young age of 3 months. Our daughter (we will call her AHK) learned how to sit up, crawl, and eat while in Ms. Michelle's class. Ms. Michelle is so sweet and loving. We love getting to see her everyday in the hallway! AHK then moved onto the cubs with Ms. Latoya. I don't have enough space here to talk about our infinite appreciation for Ms. Latoya- she has a true love and passion for teaching and made our girl feel SO at home during a tough transition. Shout out to teaching AHK how to walk up and down the halls of daycare! Ms.Carol was a pivotal part of our daughter's development. AHK learned some of her first words, lots of sign language, and many nursery rhymes while under Ms.Carol's supervision. Ms.Carol is extremely caring and patient and truly helped AHK come out of her shell. Without Ms.Carol, AHK would not have had such a smooth transition to the Turtles classroom. Of all things, AHK loved Ms.Carol's morning hugs! AHK is a shy girl, but Ms. Dynaisha has welcomed her to the Turtles classroom with open arms. Ms. Dynaisha has already taught AHK so many things, like sitting in seat during circle time and how to identify her feelings. Additionally, AHK loves squirrel watching with Ms. Dynaisha on the playground and all the fun art projects she gets to make in class! In addition to AHK's amazing Lead Teachers, I would love to give a huge shout out to all of the assistants and floaters. They ALL know Astra and show equal as much love and patience. We are so fortunate to call KA of Delran "home" until AHK moves onto Elementary School. *cue the tears*
