Anyways I came here today because I wanted to buy some supplements as I'm a bit of a health nut so I was in the vitamin/supplement section plus I wanted to use my gift card for something as this woman who I guess was working in the vitamin/supplement section approached me saying "Can I help you with anything or are you just looking?" I just felt awkward because her tone of voice was not friendly and when I replied "No, thank you, I'm okay, with a smile" she didn't smile back, just had a grumpy, bitter look on her face. I kind of felt more like she was suspicious I was going to steal something and I was being racially profiled rather than someone genuinely wanting to assist me. I sympathize for management because they have a high turnover rate so it's difficult for them to find and train new staff, but they need to get on top of the expiry issue. The young women working that section were also surly and i guess they thought i had more than 25 items and they were giving me dirty looks, too. wtf? where did they find these miserable people? I got home and the stuff from the bakery were too stale to eat and I had to throw it out. The time before the half & half cream went off in 2 days. Who wants to waste their money and get treated poorly when yoi go to the store? These issues are a common occurrence. My friends & family don't have a positive things to say about this store and don't go anymore. Now I understand what they've complained about and it's not worth the hassle. I had a greek salad which isn't anything extraordinary on its own. However, this Greek salad was somewhat unique in the way that it was packaged. It came in a cup and was labelled Greek Shaker Cup. There was a bit of space left at the top of the cup so that you could shake up the ingredients and in that way everything was nicely tossed and the flavor of the feta cheese was nicely distributed over the veggies. I was also quite impressed with the seating area that we found at this Save On Foods. Not every Save On Foods has a seating area for people to sit down and eat. This one not only had places for us to sit and eat but they were also equipped with outlets for people to plug in their phones for charging! Also, there was a little bucket of crayons for kids to do some colouring and a sign that said, "Battery low? Ask our service desk for a charger during your visit." So impressed with this Save On Foods! This place isn't really near any of the places we usually frequent when we're on the North Shore but I would still happily come back here for a simple meal again one day!

Tumbleweeds and all); they recently have had to compete with a giant Nestor's grocery store; and the government made them stop selling cigarettes a couple of years ago, which I'm sure was a major money-earner for them (don't get me wrong, I am in favour of this, and the difference in air quality on campus has been noticeable). But still, the same couple that has been running this store for years continues to keep the place alive. And this continues to be the best -- and friendliest, which counts for a lot in my book -- place to get essentials like Pocky or Gatorade (or both, if it's one of those days) on campus.
