I just went there today based on previous stellar reviews I have read. She is amazing. My mother,…read morewho is a medical personnel, went with me and she concurs that Dr. Nelson is excellent. I have been struggling with allergies for 17 years. My symptoms are severe hives, swelling, runny nose, congestion, eczema, ear infections and headaches from congestion, and red, itchy skin. I have tried every over the counter medication. I have seen two different allergists and had two different sets of allergy tests done. All were inconclusive. No one could figure out what was wrong with me. I had come to the conclusion that I would live the rest of my life miserable, or be confined to a bubble. Then, I decided to give allergists one last shot, and I found Dr. Nelson. She is extremely knowledgeable in her field. My mother was also impressed with her knowledge in the medical field and explanations. She speaks to you clearly and makes it comprehensible for those of us not trained in medicine. She also covers every possibility. She does not leave anything important out. After today, I realize my previous allergist weren't as thorough as her, which is why I have suffered for 17 years. They also only did the minimal in their work, failing to go through all the options to find some relief for me. She got down to the root of the problem and identified some of my allergens. She was also honest in explaining that the allergens we found did not explain everything, so there is more work to be done. Right now, I would not trust anyone else to do that work. She also told me all my options for testing and treatment with regard to my situation (i.e. occupation, lifestyle, environment, and practicality.), not just to get money or appease me. To be honest, I have not had a doctor's visit more productive or enlightening ever. I now have hope for a new way of living that doesn't include all of the allergy symptoms that have made me miserable. Apart from Dr. Nelson's exceptional knowledge and work, she is very kind and compassionate. You will not find a hint of condescension in her voice, attitude, or behavior. If anyone is suffering from allergies, I would recommend them to go to Dr. Nelson. You have many choices out there, but I wouldn't waste your time or money, when one of the best options is right here. I was so impressed with this doctor that I decided to start a yelp profile, just to review her. There are too many poor quality doctors out there (believe me my family and myself have been to several) and people deserve to know about the great quality doctors. No one should feel they have to be content with less than adequate healthcare. Health is far too important for anything less than the best. Although this is my first yelp review, and I am glad that I get to review my positive experience with Dr. Nelson.

First impressions of the office were really nice, they're in a modern office building with contemporary upholstery which gives some confidence. I came to see Dr Kellogg, who has been working in this field for over 20 years. He is retired US Navy and has so much life experience to impart. What I really love about Dr Kellogg was that he treated my case with the utmost attention and care. We've all been to those doctor appointments where it's abundantly clear that they need to get you in and out (cough Kaiser cough). Dr Kellogg is the polar opposite. He spent hours explaining all of my symptoms, allergies, and treatment methods, I mean honestly there was so much detail I felt like I had sat through a college lecture, but not in a bad way. I appreciate doctors that care about taking the time to make sure their patients feel up to speed on their condition.

If you choose this doctor as your primary care physician prepare to have serious difficulties…read moregetting a first appointment, and if you have a serious urgent health matter, you are simply out of luck. They like to schedule out new patients many months in advance, if you call in summer, you might have the opportunity to be seen in early fall. Also, prepare to be questioned heavily whether or not she is really your primary care physician. They want to see a picture of your insurance card, and if you send it they may still have issues with sccipa or what have you. I have an urgent health matter, where an unstable ankle continues to grind both of my achilles into the ground from overload, I am losing more and more of my mobility, and I need a referral to an orthopedic specialist urgently. They couldn't do it. Yesterday I got an appointment for next week, it was cancelled twice, and then I got heavily questioned whether or not I was really their patient. They expected proof of my insurance card, and told me they were going to give me a curtesy call back once they resolved issues on their end. It's just a bad experience to have this doctor as your pcp and then keep having to proof that you deserve to get an appointment in a timely manner that would make sense for your health. Their severe insurance issues sounded semi plausible to me, but then I was somehow able to schedule an appointment with a different provider right away, before I even switched to them as my pcp, my mind was blown! This goes to show this clinic is unnecessarily difficult to work with and extremely unwelcoming to new patients. I don't know about the doctor herself, I never got the chance to see her within a reasonable timeframe. If you have months to spare, you might have a better experience than I did, I can only speak for my own stressful, disappointing experience and the unhelpful front staff that tried to tell me I needed to wait many months to be seen for a referral for an urgent serious health matter. Horrible! Edit: I blame the doctor herself first and foremost, I believe she has great influence over how her appointments are being handled. Delaying necessary medical care is causing medical harm, often irreversible. If you have her as a pcp she may cause you direct medical harm by letting her staff (the guy who is the manager in particular) block you from accessing your specialist in time, because you cannot see her for a referral, and she is the only one able to make it unless you can switch your pcp! I told them I can't walk, I have a degenerative condition, it's urgent, they didn't care and refused to book me, since I am "not established" with them, but she was my assigned doctor by my insurance! The medical board should review them, I don't think they should be allowed to be anyone's new primary care physician.

I enjoyed coming here because of them and if I could review their service alone, I would give them 5 stars. The medical practice here however, is questionable and outdated. I have severe environmental allergies. The person taking my test actually told me I had the worst reaction they've ever seen. Dr. Chu, although friendly, decided I needed to be put through allergy injections. At first, I was progressing through my injections well but this stalled and I even went backwards in my progress after a while. I was constantly going up and down in dosage because my reactions were bad. I was being given one shot in each arm to cover my entire list of environmental allergies. My reactions towards the end were terrible. My injection site would swell up to itchy golf ball sized lumps. After almost two years of coming weekly, and me stalling in progress, I decided to see another doctor. This new doctor was shocked that Dr. Chu was giving me only two shots and said it made sense I had such terrible reactions (turns out I needed my injections mixed into 4 weekly shots, not 2). They were also shocked Dr. Chu did not prescribe me an epipen. The new standard when receiving allergy treatments is to carry an epipen with you for the car ride home. I basically could have died if I continued with Dr. Chu's treatments. After starting over my treatment with this new doctor, my reactions have been less severe and I have not had to get my dosage adjusted down at any point. Progression at this new doctor is steady and I reached my maintenance dose in under a year which is not something I would have ever been able to do with Dr. Chu.

I am adding to this review to state that the medical assistant staff is probably one of the most incompetent I have come across. I unfortunately had to deal with this office again to obtain my xray information for a visit to a specialist. On the phone, I requested a CD of the xray and Blanca told me that she would make the CD and have it at the front desk for my pickup so I could take it with me to my appt. When I got to the office, 30 min prior to my visit, there was only a paper copy of the results and the office staff; including Blanca told me they don't make CD's.
