How did I not know about this hidden gem? I feel like this lot is only full because people are not getting gas but going to Anita's. I couldn't believe my eyes at the prices when I arrived. My girlfriend was not happy with me when she I brought back her order from chipotle and she saw mine and the price that was paid. I ordered the choripollo and it was not only well seasoned but the amount they give you lasted me 2 meals. Not to mention every order comes with chips and salsa included. It may be a tiny spot but from the moment I walked in to the time I left, the place stayed packed. Lastly I have to compliment the announcer. Lunch at Anita's Mexican Grill. If you haven't been here, you're missing out. They are only open 11am until 2:30 pm so it's definately just a lunch place. The quantity of meat they give you in these tacos is unreal, especially for the price ! I got the carne asada taco on a corn tortilla ($4). The meat was a bit overcooked, but had a ton of flavor. Plus just LOOK at how much meat they give you ! I couldn't fold the taco, it was that much meat !!! I ended up eating all the meat I could inside the taco and then using a fork to eat the rest that would not fit inside. I got a chili relleno special ($9.50) which came with either a hardshell or flour tortilla with either shredded chicken or ground beef with rice on the side. I got the shredded chicken. It was nice and juicy and had nice flavor. Just look at how stuffed it is ! These came with chips and salsa too. Hubby got one beef hard shelled taco and one chicken soft shelled taco. This came with chips and salsa. They have fountain drinks with free refills. The seating area is small. However, they have both high chairs and low chairs (See photo). We came at 1:10pm and lunch was starting to die down, so we were able to get a table. However, I had read online that starting at Noon the line is out the door and seating is scarce. Highly recommend for getting alot of good food for the money spent. Orders are taken at the counter then they call your name. The only thing I did not like were that the people behind the counter were wearing a mask. If someone on their staff is sick, they should not be serving food. The masks also prevent genuine interaction with the customer. FYI..Everything is given to you "to go" whether you plan to eat there or not. read more

Such good food. Friendly staff. The food is delicious, very reasonably priced and darn delicious. I've eaten my way up through Anita's menu and there's nothing I regret ordering so far. The star of the show is their grilled chicken, anything made with that chicken is 100% pure bliss. The salsas are good. Ask for their Verde salsa... yummmmm. A hidden but must find treasure. I was introduced to Anita's by a coworker. His rule of thumb is to get here before 12 or else the line is out the door and he was right. We promptly arrived at 1145 to one person in line by the time we walked out at 12 there were 6 people and the line was growing out the door! The menu is long but extensive. If you're not sure what is in an item just ask. They will customize if possible. Their cafeteria serving style makes lunchtime possible as you are in and out in 10 minutes. Took a star off for the INSANE amount of trash made for 1 order that I ate right there in the restaurant. They don't have "for here" plates. Everything is in Styrofoam. And then in a plastic bag on top of that. All the cups are Styrofoam. The silverware is plastic. The trash totally covered my table just to get to my food. Styrofoam isn't even recyclable. I come and stay here for the tacos! My absolute favorite is their carne asada. I typically order one then split the filling in half. Their portions are large! You absolutely get your $4 worth and then some! As for sides, I'm slowly working my way through the menu- but I love their rice. Service is always SPECTACULAR! I went to the food truck for Anita's Mexican Grill and was very disappointed. The plantains were very greasy, yet hot. The meat was dry and they only gave me one option of sauce and it was spicy so I could not add it to my tacos. I would've thought that they would've asked me which would I have enjoyed eating with my tacos, but instead, they chose for me, and I didn't find out till after I drove away, I did drive back to the food truck and requested a refund, because I could not eat the greasy plantains. I went ahead and eat the tacos without any type of salsa on them since I wasn't provided with any. I don't think I'll be trying this food truck again. read more

Anita's Mexican Grill is another one of those hidden gem restaurants. It's in a small shopping center with a BP gas station out front. It's in between a dry cleaner and a Subway sandwich shop. It's definitely not fancy but boy is the food good! You order at the counter and they bring it out to you or call you up to get it. This is not a full-service restaurant but A place you can get a quick bite to eat on your lunch break or whatever. They are very reasonable too! Everything that I have had from here has been delicious! They have Tex-Mex style food as well as authentic Mexican food. I usually get the Speedy Gonzales (#1 on the menu) which consists of an enchilada and a taco (hard or soft) with rice or beans. Actually, they will let you get a smaller portion of both rice and beans if you ask. Their chicken enchiladas are to die for! They may be the best I've ever had! The taco is absolutely stuffed with ingredients! They are authentic tacos are very tasty as well. Incoming terrible pun alert: I'm craving Mexican food and 'Anita' fix! (hey, I did warn you by saying it would be terrible) This place consistently has lines going out the door for good reason. Yes, it's located in a small strip that contains a BP gas station and laundromat but don't hold that against it. It's small on space but more than makes up for it by producing hefty portions of delicious Mexican food rapidly. Please note that Anita's is open only during the hours of 11 am - 4pm Monday through Saturday. So get in, where you fit in folks. The menu is located right above the cashier and some items will be scratched out for the day, depending on availability. I've heard that some menu items can take longer than others, for instance, shrimp fajitas. I've had the tacos - grilled chicken and carnitas and they were HUGE. None of those boutique-sized portions found at the tex-mex restaurants around town. You can get them traditional (with onions and cilantro) or American (with lettuce and cheese). The tacos can be ordered in 1, 2, or 3 portions. With each taco order, you also get a complimentary bag of chips and TWO kinds of salsa. The chips are not seasoned but they get the job done in scooping up salsa. My last visit, I sprung for the chicken fajitas (I was told my order would take a little longer, but the wait wasn't that bad) which comes with tortillas, rice, beans, and the aforementioned chips and salsa. FOOD OVERLOAD and it only cost $8 plus change. Incredible deal. I literally got three separate meal portions out of the chicken alone. As for drinks, they offer various flavors of Jarritos and your typical soft drink and sweet tea offerings. The menu is straightforward, nothing fancy. Just good food, served quickly and cheap. Whatever you order, you must pour a few drops of Valentina (the Mexican hot sauce) that's found on their counters. It's a must. If you're in this area, I urge you to give this place a try. I know there's a Chipotle about five minutes down the road but consider passing up the frills of a fast-casual chain to support a small business producing consistent and delicious food. read more

This is the best Mexican food around!! My go-to is the Poblano Chile Rellano and it is fabulous! A poblano pepper (not too spicy!) stuffed with cheese, coated in an egg batter and fried golden brown. It is covered in a cheese type sauce. This item comes with rice, chips and salsa, and a taco on the side. I always order my taco on the side as a hard shell with ground beef, and the flavors are wonderful. The staff is very friendly and food is cooked quickly. This place will not let you down! read more

I had heard great things about this place from fellow Yelpers and coworkers, so I had to check it out. It's only a minute away from where I work, so it's very convenient for lunch. It's a an interesting location -- in the building that's almost part of the gas station. There aren't many tables, so it's probably easier to get your food to go. We got the Pollo con Crema and the Choripollo. The serving sizes are huge, so expect to have leftovers. Both of our dishes were delicious. They were even better if you mixed them together. I probably liked the chorizo dish more, but both were very good. This is a no frills, hole in the wall Mexican place serving up delicious food. Everyone I was with really enjoyed what they got. We all left stuffed. You get your food pretty fast -- within 5-10 minutes. This place is definitely worth going out of your way to check out! You will not be disappointed. read more

We stopped in right around 1145 and we had a few people in front of us. There are only a few tables and bar seats - but it appeared most were taking their food to-go. Food is made fresh, so certain items take longer than others... but SO worth it. I ordered #20 - Arroz con pollo - (i think) delicious chicken, mushrooms and onions - grilled fresh. Side of rice and beans. Comes with chips, salsa and tortillas. This was HUGE - enough to feed two people easy. So good, and FRESH. Salsa was delicious! An unexpected gem in this small strip mall that is fronted by a gas station. I had low expectations until I read the reviews and then decided to have lunch here. Good choice. Inside, the place was full with locals as there are a number of office parks nearby and the firefighter training facility. Busy. I chose the number 10, which is a burrito and an enchilada, served with rice and chips. It didn't take long until my order was called out and I was able to dig in. A very good portion and very tasty. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the sauce over the top was great. And the last few bits of rice scooped up what I couldn't get with my fork. There's always a long line during lunch hours so be prepared to wait. They definitely deserve a larger venue of operations at this point if their business.
