Apparently you have to ask for salsa on your burrito, although this isn't obvious from the chalkboard layout, and it isn't clear whether salsa costs extra. If the place had been a little less chaotic I may have taken the time to suss out the system and would've noticed the salsa-is-optional thing. Still, the counterperson should've asked... I had the Haight & Ashbury (why the ampersand instead of the traditional hyphen?), which was both good and not so good. Good: pinto beans (yea!), brown rice, peppers and onions, guac, loads of sour cream---each tasty in its own way; the whole thing is huge; the handful of blue chips on the side was a nice touch. Not so good: an overall lack of flavor and no heat whatsoever, because of the missing salsa. Animo was a great organic/healthy dining option in Haddonfield, which is located off Kings Hwy. My wife and I had an open burrito w/ guacamole as well as a soup (basil tomato) and a quinoa salad. The young and friendly staff served us promptly and the food was fresh and tasty. Every dish was great - no complaints at all. Glad we saved room for the Chilly Gorilla (frozen banana, soft serve ice cream) which was amazing - the same consistency as ice cream. One bathroom, and slightly less than comfortable seating and space limited Animo's chances at 5 stars. Make no mistake though, the food delivers the goods - it's delicious. read more

I think I must have walked by this place about a dozen times without realizing it was a burrito place (the store front is pretty nondescript). I saw a feature about them on FYI Philly, liked the concept and thought the food looked great. I gave them a try later that week and man, was I happy I did. I can't count the number of times I've been back and each time the food is consistently delicious. Sure they may be a little pricey, compared to fast food joints, but I'm willing to pay for quality ingredients. The Green Lemonade is my favorite juice, and I tend to get the Valencia Street Petito. So I've lived in haddonfield for a few years now and never got the chance to stop by Animo. Friends and family always spoke so highly of it and I wish I had come sooner! I was missing out!!!! The atmosphere was super welcoming, GREAT music, and very clean. I was a little under the weather and they were super helpful in assisting me. I ended up getting an immune boost which apparently is pretty popular and a petito burrito. I've worked in the food industry all through college and I have never seen a staff (guy with long hair and a beard, another wearing a baseball cap, and a girl with dark hair) work so well together as a team. Review of juice only (did not eat). While traveling, had a mean craving for some fresh juice, and found Animo Juice. The juices were good (I ordered two). Staff was nice, the service was prompt. My only complaint was the restaurant/store... it was FILTHY. As I sat drinking my juice, I started noticing everything. The tables were dirty (which I initially attributed to the breakfast rush, which was over when I got there, but I thought they hadn't gotten around to cleaning yet - upon discovering the filth in the other parts of the place, I think that initial assumption was wrong). The floor was nasty. Every nook and cranny was gross. And whaaaa?!?! My gosh, even the CEILING was a mess. Looked like the juicer or blender exploded all over the ceiling. And the wall. Seriously, the place needs a significant cleaning. Had I noticed before ordering, I would have walked out. If this were a different place, maybe some kind of total dive bar in the middle of nowhere, that would be one thing. But for a "healthy food" place, it was disappointing. There's really no excuse for that kind of filth. 5 Stars for the juice, 4 Stars for the service, 0 Star for the cleanliness (which gave me a 3 Star average). Looking for a light and refreshing lunch while out shopping my mom and I popped into Animo. They have paper menus at the door plus a chalkboard menu up behind the counter. There are so many different juices plus sandwiches and salads. Mommy and I each got a juice with protein and were very happy with them. They were fresh and tasty! I came here for lunch with a friend. The only thing that interested me on the menu was the cauliflower soup. The soup was alright, nothing special. It was a little less quality than I expected. My friend got a wrap with chips. The wrap portion was a good size but they did not give her many chips. I asked the cashier what a good option for a berry drink was and she suggested the "coast to coast". The smoothing was also mediocre, it was up to par with something you could probably make at home. The communication with the ordering and the delivery to your table was not as efficient as expected. I ordered the smoothie and halfway through my soup I was wondering where my smoothie was since I still hadn't gotten it. I had to go to the counter and ask where my smoothie was. He told me they made it but didn't know what to do with it so he put it in the fridge. If I never realized or asked about my smoothie, I would not have gotten it. You're probably better off going to Panera or Corner Bakery for lunch instead. read more

The good: the food is delicious and nobody does juices better. The bad: you might find yourself waiting awhile for your order, and you might find that your order is missing things that you paid a premium for, but by then you're so hungry you forgot about it and devoured the whole thing before you realized what was missing. They ugly: they don't track their ingredients well so it's basically impossible to order gluten free. They also must use something else I'm not aware I'm allergic to, because I have literally never left there without a major gastrointestinal reaction. It's not a pathogen, because my husband can eat the same thing I do and be fine. It's sad, but I think my Animo days are over, at least until they do a thorough and transparent ingredient audit and start labeling allergens on the menu board. read more

Strawberry-banana "smoothie" was disappointing. I was craving a refreshingly cold, sweet treat and received a room-temperature, bland beverage. There was nothing smooth about it. The short-haired girl at the register could be a bit more friendly and helpful to new customers. During my first visit she seemed annoyed that I asked questions about the menu. My boyfriend & I ordered Acai Bowls from here and had a terrible results. The "granola" was not granola it was raw oats, the blueberries were terribly frozen. All of the fruit was just thrown into the bowl. The extra $1 for peanut butter that was order was scooped and dropped in there. The presentation was not good at all. Aside from the order itself. We witnessed a worker scoop a spoonful of rice into her hand and just shove it into her mouth and didn't even wash her hands after. Writing this review is very hard for me because I often come in for lunch and love both the food and service..... until today I experienced one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. I was greeted by a miserable young blonde behind the counter who rolled her eyes when I asked to order from her and not on the screen. She acted annoyed with everyone's presence in the store. While eating there were two young customers getting take out from the same girl and she as well gave them MAJOR attitude and as they walked away they were visibly upset. I asked for an extra side of dressing after the women in front of me had been given one and the miserable worker told me she had to charge me for an extra side of dressing after she gave the women ahead of me one free of charge. It is not the principle that I had to pay for a extra side it's the fact she picked and choose who she was going to charge and acted like it was an inconvience when i asked. I will return to the store because i throughly enjoy the food but I pray I don't have another encounter with this employee. read more

I had a juice called the pipe cleaner with beets, carrots, greens, Apple, etc. It was just right and was not too sweet like some places.
