I got to interview the owner Jennifer who explained to me that pretty much everything is ordered from a wholesale company and she orders products that are well made. There's much to look at here. From baby gifts, children's and party gifts, pet gifts, scarves made in the UK, bracelets, necklaces in a bottle, cocktail gifts, soaps, bubble bath, candles, greeting cards, prints, soaps, you can practically find most anything you want here. With your purchase, gift wrapping is free. Jennifer is even offering homemade cookies as part of her opening week kickoff. She hopes to expand her business as she gets new ideas but it's a great spot to get something for any occasion or if you wish to indulge yourself. After much deciding I purchased an embroidered bat tea towel and a soap sponge holder to catch my soap bar drippings. The gift shop makes a welcome addition to the Crafton area and is located on E Crafton Ave near Sisters floral and Dancetime studios. Free time limited street parking is available.

We place an order for deliver prior to Christmas - the order was guaranteed to be delivered on December 23. We never received tracking information for the order and reached out to them on December 21. We did receive an immediate response noting that they were unable to log into their system remotely and since it was after hours would get a response to us the next day. CRICKETS - never heard a peep. Reached out again via text on December 24 - CRICKETS! Never heard a peep.... Well, on December 26 we received notice that the order shipped.... Glad they had our money for a week given the credit card was charged when the order was placed; however our gift never arrived to the recipient until after Christmas, and there was zero communication that there was a delay. We at normally not ones to complain publicly about a small business; however do expect communication. Had they reached out to let us know there was an issue, we would have fully understood and been more than happy to explain the situation to the recipient. BUT with no communication we had no idea if the gift was on the way - if it was late - if it would never arrive and we were scammed out of $200. Communication is key! Will never place another order or recommend A Basket of Pittsburgh!

We didn't want to have an eclectic set of chairs and, thankfully, my wife had done her homework. There are chairs available where you can add or remove the extension; this allows you to have matching chairs where you do not have matching heights for the eating surface. We entered and were greeted by a young man named Dresden. Dresden was personable, professional, and helpful. We had questions and Dresden was honest that he was newer to the store but he would get the answers where he did not know the correct response right away. Yes, we had questions. We had two options to choose from and Dresden let us know that the cheaper option was available sooner for delivery. We decided to have the chairs delivered and got the insurance as we expected the chairs to get heavy use. It was all a great choice. The chairs arrived in sturdy boxes well protected and two men brought them to our second floor apartment where they unboxed the chairs, added the extensions for two of them, and placed them in our apartment. I could not have been happier with the experience, the value, and the options.

I got to talkative and a little tipsy I couldn't finish my second glass before the session was over so the wonderful lady (sorry I'm bad with names) helped me finish my second glass! Their website says that the "gallery shop is an art exhibit all its own", and I agree 100%. There's a little bit of everything here - stickers, jewelry, ceramics, glassworks, bath and beauty products, illustrations, photography, paintings, woodwork...that's all here, laid out in a way that makes it easy for you to browse through the art medium(s) you wish to explore. With hundreds of artists being displayed here, it's super easy to browse and see what local makers are up to. Previously Artsmiths operated out of Mt. Lebanon, so if the name sounds familiar, it's because they were in another neighborhood for over a decade. A big reason they moved to Carnegie was that they were growing to a point that they wanted a better space to host their classes. Yes, the Artsmiths of Pittsburgh is more than a storefront - they're also an art center. Their classes will introduce you to mosaics, embroidery, and more. (If that sounds interesting to you, their website is the best place to keep up with their in-person classes, workshops, and camps.) With the holidays rolling up on us yet again, this is a business you'll absolutely want to visit; you're practically guaranteed to find the perfect gift for someone/multiple someones. I may be biased because I love pinball, but this exhibit is really cool (see photos), and you also get to play a real pinball machine ('Game of Thrones') which is set to freeplay, and is part of the exhibit. The artworks incorporate old, recycled, parts and pieces from pinball machines. I thought it was fascinating. This is yet another Laurie's store I had visited this year and last year when we are looking to buy ornaments using the Hallmark coupons that Hallmark posts on their national website. We visited this store both Saturday and Sunday to use the coupons during separate visits and we were looked after by this stores friendly staff.

They utilize something called Shop by Shopify, which I had never heard of. Why do I call it an ILLEGAL SCAM? Because AFTER you place your order, you are informed that your data has been saved by Shopify. Not BEFORE, never with your permission, and never with your consent. I wrote both InkPixi and Shopify, complaining about this blatant invasion of my privacy. Both replies said that to avoid this, I should check out as guest, as only account holders have information saved. A blatant LIE! I did check out as a guest, I do NOT have an account with InkPixi! InkPixi's response did include a link to have my data removed, but that will take about 30-days, when it should have never been saved in the first place. Again, this is NOT a review of the products of InkPixi, which are of excellent quality. This is a review of what I consider to be an ILLEGAL SCAM of a business practice.
