Day 4 doing better & better

Came here for a visit due to me thinking he had a uti turned out he was having kidney issues and diarrhea. I got there 9 am my appointment time staff was so helpful and attentive they provided so much help & possible reasons to his situation. Becky was out nurse & she was FUNTASTIC & FANTASTIC she helped me with questions & even after provided additional information of products that can help my dog pass these kidney problems to help him feel better i was about to pay 1000$ but Becky's magic words & the doctors words of taking him home give him the medication & seeing if in 3 days he'd be better if not bring him back. I am soo grateful it is now the 4th day & he's no longer got cloudy pee or nasty discharges of smell his stool is become hard like before & he seems full of energy! Beyond thankful with the staff & specially Becky who REALLY went above & beyond for my Little Dude. He's my third dog here & I've always had great service & help from the staff I wanna thank you all very much for helping my baby feel his very best THAT is what was most important

Note confirming they failed to provide me the quote before billing my card the $440.00

Animal Samaritans is a complete sham of a business. They will write responses to negative reviews always blaming the pet owner. While using nice words which misrepresent their true intentions. Money is their true intention. They never accept any fault for their actions! I deeply regret having participated in a fund raising event a few years ago for this dishonest---organization! DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS CLINIC! A local business owner myself, I'm very sensitive to online reviews. I know from personal experience, people will write dishonest reviews. I have never written a bad review for any business... but this bad review is necessary to hopefully protect someone else from being taken advantage of financially (or worse) by Animal Samaritans! Long story... but here is the readers digest version: I took my dog in for a teeth cleaning. I was told I would have to pay for the exam and then will be given a quote. The exam was $85. Upon arrival I had to hand over my credit card. The young woman at the front desk, told me they would hold my credit card number on file if further charges were approved by me. I told her no. I would give my card a second time, if other charges were necessary that day. They took my dog into their exam area. And told me the doctor would call me soon with the findings and estimate. When the call came in, as expected, the teeth cleaning was recommended. At this point, I asked for a quote. The Vet told me she would have the front desk contact me with the quote. I told her, I did not want anything else done until I had the quote in hand. I drove back to the clinic about 45 minutes after dropping my dog off. A young man came out from the back and said he was the vet assistant. He told me they were very busy with an emergency and he would send me the quote later that day. I agreed to wait for the quote. He told me I would have to "settle up" at the front desk before he would bring me my dog. The girl at the front desk told me she had some paperwork for me before I left. She then handed me an invoice for $440.00. And a credit card receipt for that same amount! I asked what this was for? She told me the doctor did blood work and prescribed pain meds for the after care (once the teeth cleaning had been performed.) I said I would not pay this bill.... I had not even seen a quote yet! She told me it was already charged to my credit card, which they held open. The same credit card I told her to not place any charges on it without my signature. Angry and concerned they would not give me my dog back, I didn't protest any further. I asked for my dog... they called back for the dog to be released. I did not hear anything about my price quote. Two days later I called their main office and complained to a woman who said she was the manager. Here comes the PRICE GOUGING: A few hours later I got the email quote for my dogs teeth cleaning: $2,494.89 (plus an additional cushion of 15%, at their option). Which would raise the potential bill to almost $3,000.00. And that's on top of the $440.00 they billed my card two days earlier. I've been having my dog's teeth cleaned every year for the last several years at Banning Vet Hospital. The entire bill runs from a low of $345.00 to about $650.00, occurring one year with some extractions. Unfortunately, Banning Vet Hospital could not book my dog in for three months. So, I took my dog to another vet the next day. He did the teeth cleaning and the entire bill, including an x-ray of my dog's back for an unrelated issue for $671.00 So, I'm out the money that Animal Samaritans overcharged me on the credit card. I did attempt to do a chargeback request on my credit card... but my bank said since I entered the card into their credit card machine there was nothing they could do... the rep at the bank suggested I sue them in court. Animal Samaritans also lied in writing to my credit card company... claiming they made a mistake on the first invoice, adjusted it by reducing the quote by $500.00. And lied again saying they never charge a credit card without customer approval. Animal Samaritans did send me another quote, reducing the amount by $500.00! At this point I didn't trust them at any amount. I felt like I was dealing with a bad used car dealer! As I said, I'm a local business owner. And I'm aware that customers will sometimes write dishonest reviews for whatever reason. But this negative review is well earned. Animal Samaritans should be ashamed of themselves.

Both our pets and us love the Indio and Thousand Palms locations, awesome team. Our family passes a lot of vets to come here. We trust and appreciate the care they give our pets.

I have to highlight the kindness of the staff. Unfortunately, my reason for coming to Animal Samaritans was not a happy one. On Thursday, I brought my little boy, Manny, to be put down due to a myriad of illnesses and rapidly declining quality of life. I chose not to cremate him for personal reasons and I've since created a shadow box in his memory. The following Saturday, I received a voicemail saying that because I was so distraught at saying goodbye, they saved a clipping of his fur so I could have a piece to remember him by. I picked it up today, expecting to just get a small ziplock baggie with his fur in it. Instead, I received his fur in a tiny glass jar with a small gold paw-shaped charm. I had to sit in my car for a minute and cry it out before driving off. I can't express the depth of my gratitude enough. This seemingly small gesture plays a HUGE part in my grief and healing and I'm so happy to have a piece of him back with me. Your kindness won't be forgotten.

Yes, the building is nice, modern and clean but what really makes this place amazing is the staff that work here. I'll forever be grateful for the support and compassion they showed me during one of my hardest moments in life. Rewind: I'm actually not a local and was traveling here from out of town. I was staying in the desert for a few weeks so I brought my dog and cat down with me. In the most stressful of scenarios (traveling and being on vacation) my 13-year old cat fell ill almost immediately after we got into town. After a few days of her seeming not like herself and not eating, I brought her here to the urgent care. A few hundred dollars later and testing it was confirmed that my little one was dying (This wasn't a complete shock as she had been diagnosed with kidney disease a year before with a prognosis of only a few weeks to months to live.) You just never expect to be away from home when something like this happens.... The biggest blessing was that the doctor and techs encouraged me that I could take her home to have a couple more days to process the decision of putting her down/to see if there could be any improvements (even though it wasn't likely.) Having those extra couple days to say goodbye made the process so much more bearable and assured me that I wasn't making a rash decision... when you see your pet declining you know when it's time. I was just really grateful for how the team was so compassionate and flexible with me as I made this decision. While they were all professional, they felt like friends when I needed them most. Bringing my baby back to be euthanized on a holiday weekend was traumatic, but the team handled everything with grace and compassion. They have a special room where you get to say goodbye to your baby and it is very tranquil and lovely overall when dealing with such a tragedy. At the very minimum you would hope for a safe space when enduring something so difficult and they definitely created that....Again the team couldn't have been lovelier. They see these kinds of things every day, but they made me feel like I mattered. The whole process was expensive, but at the end of the day I would do anything for my animals so it just comes with the territory. Looking back, it was worth every penny to make an informed and educated decision and with how well everything was handled from start to finish that I'm so grateful for this team. I hope you find yourself here under less painful circumstances, but I am here to say that this is an amazing urgent care and the staff are A+.

I brought my French Bulldog, Otis, to urgent care because he had been experiencing decreased activity, weakness, and changes in behavior that were concerning to me. Upon arrival, he was panting heavily. As a French Bulldog owner, I understand that panting can be alarming, but Otis frequently becomes worked up in the car, during travel, and in unfamiliar environments, especially during extreme heat. Before my pet's history was fully discussed or I was even checked in, staff immediately focused on the panting and began discussing sedation and emergency concerns. I was initially told about a medication costing approximately $600. Later, the veterinarian explained a different medication was needed so he could examine Otis, and I agreed to those charges. After Otis was taken to the treatment area, I waited for updates. Instead of receiving information about his condition, I was approached multiple times regarding financing options and credit applications. At that point, I still had not received any explanation of what the veterinarian had found, what his physical examination showed, or what the next steps would be. Eventually I was presented with an estimate of approximately $2,000. When I asked what had been found on examination and whether the veterinarian would discuss his assessment with me, I was told that nothing could be determined without additional laboratory work and X-rays. I specifically asked if the veterinarian would return to explain his clinical impressions or provide any guidance regarding the symptoms that brought me in, and I was told no. What disappointed me most was not the estimate itself. Veterinary medicine is expensive, and diagnostic testing has value. My concern is that I left without any meaningful discussion of the problem I brought Otis in for. The visit became entirely focused on diagnostics and financing before I ever received an explanation of what the veterinarian thought might be going on. As a pet owner, I understand that a diagnosis cannot always be made without testing. However, I believe clients deserve clear communication, a discussion of examination findings, and an opportunity to understand the veterinarian's concerns before being asked to make major financial decisions. I left feeling like the primary focus was obtaining approval for diagnostics rather than helping me understand my dog's condition. After spending nearly $300, I still did not have answers regarding the symptoms that prompted the visit in the first place. I hope this feedback helps improve communication with future clients, particularly those who are scared, trying to do the right thing for their pets, and working within real financial limitations.

One needed a nail trim and the other's first wellness exam and one more puppy shot. My 3 month old puppy is very high strung and energetic. He escaped the room a few times and when I went to grab him he was already in Dr Jameson arms in the hallway as we were waiting to see her. It was absolutely adorable. The entire staff loved on my babies, gave them each calming puppy plates filled with treats, and made us feel right at home. Dr Jameson is very thorough and took into consideration my concerns with certain treatments. She takes a lot of time in the room to answer any and all of questions. I never feel rushed or forced to do anything unnecessary and I appreciated all her professional insights for my babies. She really does care deeply for these animals and from what I can see is incredibly humble as a person, which are exactly the qualities I look for in a veterinarian. I can't recommend them enough. This is a very hard business field to be in, and they all handle everything like the champions they are. Thank you all so very much! We will see you again soon. Love, Briana, Hannah, and Landon :)

I handed over the original paperwork from the breeder including his date of birth, weight progression, neutering date, microchip info, and vaccine records. The vet I saw noted he still had his baby canines and should have them removed, but said I could have them done in a few months. I asked for his vaccination records a month ago to send to a groomer who required him. First they couldn't find info on him as a patient at all, then found his records but only had a notation of the bordatella shot they had administered, said they had no other history taken down. Then, they found the records of his other shots, but said they'd destroyed the original page with every single bit of information. He had the first canine influenza shot 2 weeks ago. I came in today for his booster, and the following happened: - I walked in and wasn't acknowledged. Desk clerks are always unfriendly and disorganized. - The clinician came out, confirmed the shot he needed, then brought him back out after it was done. - Called him a girl, thought "she" was a puppy, didn't know he'd been neutered, what other vaccine he needed, and didn't know needed the baby teeth taken out. - Made no follow-up appointment the balance of vaccines needed. - Desk clerk rang up the cost of his shot, didn't mention scheduling the other vaccine he needs. I think that says it all. Going to find a new vet; I have no confidence with Country Club Animal Clinic.
