Our dog is on prescription foods due to digestive issues. Not getting her the food she needs can result in her getting very sick and emergency vet bills/visits (last time it was $1K). Transferred here on a recommendation of a colleague. Wish I had vetted this better as they messed up our prescription once, then significant shipping and processing delays (up to 7-10 business days = two weeks). What are we supposed to feed a dog who's on a prescription diet for two weeks?? Good grief. PS: Trying to transfer her to another vet has also been difficult. Super passive aggressive on the phone and copped attitude when I asked her to confirm next steps. Any options would've been better. The vet herself was nice/thorough, so if you have a healthy animal, go for it. I think it's the people in the front office who are snoozing on the job. read more

I really like the doctor and she found something important that i was unaware of. The one issue I had was with one of the office cats (I am a cat lover). Waited for 27 minutes on the first call and 31 minutes on second - just to say why I was calling. I drove over to the clinic while on hold. One person in waiting room, receptionist sitting there. Brought my dog in for the same exact I issue (skin infection/possible allergies) 6 months apart. First time charged $15 for her meds, this time $52. When I discovered this a day later, I went back to speak with them about the discrepancy. Turns out the first time was for something my dog DIDNT have, which means I didn't get the proper meds in the first place. Plus they refused to do anything. Just said, "once the med leaves the building, we can't take it back". How was I supposed to know what they prescribed last time? I don't have any confidence in them any longer. We started taking out pets to the Animal Medical Center when we moved to Eustis, and then kept going to them because we liked both of the vets there. (I understand the second vet was recently asked to leave the practice.) Because of the number of pets we have and the ferals and foster cats we deal with, we now also use a less expensive and less busy non-profit practice we like that has recently opened up. But I would still recommend Dr. Wilson and the Animal Medical Center with confidence. She even took on one of our foster kittens, who was sickly, as a project to see if she could save him. (She couldn't, the poor little mite.) And be aware that the practice has moved to Woodward Street from the address still listed here on Yelp. read more

I used this vet to organize the cremation of my dog, and my final wishes were not properly communicated to the party completing the cremation services, Animal Kingdom Pet Services. The morning after my dog passed away I called the office to communicate my final wishes. I selected their basic package (Cherish - $150) and opted to add on the paw print for an additional fee ($25) as that was the item I felt was most important for me, as it was the last tangible memory I would have of my best friend. I made sure to reiterate my wishes a minimum of three times. The young lady I spoke with concluded the phone call reiterating that I chose the basic package + the paw print for a total of $175.00, payment would be due upon pick up, and my dog would be returned to the office for pick up within the week. I checked one last time to confirm I added on the paw print and clarified that the week meant a business week (June 23rd or June 24th). It took almost two weeks (June 16th drop off, June 30th I received a call for pick up). Upon pick up of my dog's remains I noticed there was no paw print in the bag I was given. The woman at the front desk apologized and I left the office, I returned a second to ask for a copy of the form submitted to the cremation service on my behalf to see if the young lady indicated my selections, and a third time once I realized they were not properly indicated on the form to ensure the leadership team understood what had happened. Upon speaking to leadership, I was told that the young lady who was responsible for filling out my form and communicating my last wishes was not actually authorized to be handling this responsibility and took it upon herself to do so without asking. They apologized, however this is a situation that is so final, there really is anything that can be done to fix the situation on mine or my dog's behalf and in my opinion is quite a large mistake to make. For something so final, Animal Medical Center and the cremation service should do a much better job monitoring their processes to ensure that their Client's last wishes are communicated properly. I am highly upset by this situation and disappointed that this was not taken care of properly. I will never have that memory of my dog, and it shows the lack of care and attention to detail for their Client's loved ones. I will never recommend their services based on this experience. read more

Upon arrival, my dog ( Coco ) and I were greeted by a few regulars. They were all genuinely nice.. the staff helped quickly and with ease. I did make an appointment a week back and the staff didn't make clear whether they placed me in the schedule or not, but they gave me a paper to fill out, so I did and patiently waited. More people told me how wonderful Dr. Wilson is and so when I got sent to room to wait with Coco I patiently waited once more. So far my experience is going well. The wait is a bit long, but so far worth it. The staff is very informative and all are good hearted folks. I will come here again. read more

Last night when my friend and I where driving in the middle of the night, my friend saw a kitten sitting in the middle of the road while it was raining. This morning we tried several veterinarian offices to get the kitten checked out since she had lacerations on her and an infected eye. On such short notice no one was able to help us. So with the help of Yelp, I found this place. Gave them a call and thankfully they were able to help us! And I have to say, I loved them! The staff is friendly, and were very helpful. The kitten received the medical attention it needed right away and we were also informed that they were always ready to help a stray animal in need. They thanked us for bringing in the kitten and before we even left the office were informed that one of the nurses had fallen in love with the kitten and was going to take her home. The Vet here is awesome. She was super friendly and honest. They squeezed me in as a walk-in and I hardly had to wait. The entire staff was extremely friendly and caring. I think my lab actually wanted to stay with them. We were in and out in less than 40 minutes and this included a x-ray. Make sure you call and get the address before you type it into your map. Unfortunately google captures their old location and will route you there instead. They are just a few miles from that one, so call first. read more

We had our little dog in with a major injury to his side by our other big dog. He was really, really bad. They took him in and kept him for a week in order for him to heal. He had staples and drains and a doughnut around his neck. The staff and Dr's are by far amazing! If I could give 10 stars I would. They called us every day to tell us how he was doing which was SO nice and comforting. I've been to a lot of vets in my lifetime and these guys are top notch!! Having recently moved to the area, I chose Animal Medical Center because they had many good reviews. I have 4 Beagles and took two in today for their first visit. I will say having been a surgical Veterinary Technician for 30 years...believe me I can tell who belongs working with animals and who does not. I also knew things about my dog that I did not mention..kind of a little test...I am pleased to say all passed with flying colors! I found them kind, compassionate and very understanding. There were no pushy sales for blood work or procedures..The services were explained and offered but the pet owner is free to decline with no attitude or judgement from the staff. We saw Dr. Beasley today and found him to be very kind, gentle with the animals and very willing to answer any questions.. I will be bringing my other two in Friday to meet the other doctor. Beware if you love your pet. Tracie promised us that our cat Scooby who was dieing of cancer would go at home under her care. Her office staff made the appointment with me for 6:15 tonight for Tracie to come to the house and let Scooby go in peace. Tracie was a NO SHOW and a NO CALL.and just didnt care enough to to call as she had both our cell phone numbers as she called both me and my wife on them. Although the staff is great at Animal Medical Center in Eustis Fl. I felt like I needed to share my story about my cat I brought in almost a year ago. He had not been eating and wasn't himself and knew in my heart he had something majorly wrong with him.We had recently moved and he was acting nervous and not himself. Turns out he had feline leukemia (even with the yearly shots protecting him against it) and he was in starvation mode and wasn't doing well. He is longer with us today and thank god his mom and brother are leukemia free. I have been thinking of writing this for some time as I don't want anyone else to go through the same experience I had on that day of bringing him in. It was recommended I have blood work and have him connected to fluids to rehydrate, vitamins and so on to prepare him for a trip to the emergency vet clinic in Leesburg for observation as it was late in the day. As we were closing the bill of $402.00 and waiting in the waiting room to transport him for the evening for observation...the vet decided to test him for leukemia which came back positve. I still question why that test wasn't performed from the beginning which could have saved me the stress, money and hope that I had in saving his life. There is no hope with leukemia and it can spread to other cats so I made the decision to put my boy to sleep which still pains me to this day. I left the vets with pain in my heart and a $462.00 vet bill which I still feel angry about. I think I needed to get that off my chest! Thanks for reading and hope you don't have to go through what my family had to go through. You do have a choice when signing the estimate. my sick dog was throwing up food and water, holding nothing down. i have spent thousands there on my pets. i was turned away, refused treatment because they no longer accept checks from anyone. i have never written a bad check in my life. my sick dog suffering, but, they turned her and i away. i was told that if i could get some money for a shot that may make her feel better to return. money over humane treatment. i hope they go out of the animal care business hard. read more

We recently lost our dog and had an appointment to have him Euphenized. They were not prepared for us when we arrived and thought they could've handled it more professionall. When we got there, we had to sit in the waiting room for over ten minutes and knowing we were upset, they were taking care of people at the front desk. My wife was really upset and crying and if they were more professional,they would've stopped what they were doing and take us back somewhere private. Once we got back there, we sat for another 10 or 15 minutes which felt like eternity before they came back to give him his first initial shot to put him to sleep before the final injection. Everything went well after that. We got our dogs ashes about 10 days later and this clinic did not even send a sympathy card to us like others have done in the past when we lost our animal. I feel this was thoughtless and in bad taste and kinda hurt us since we've been going there for years. Don't know if someone screwed up because we've had problems before with the front desk with medication re-fills. read more
