    We Love Lake Vet Clinic!!!!

We love Lake Vet! I've taken all my pets from the classroom guinea pigs that Dr. Pryor saw to my little dogs. dr. Webber and the team of doctors , as well as techs have made sure that my dogs stay healthy and happy. Even in the case of the emergency with Osckar, they took care of him and comforted me. We have gone to Lake Vet for over 17 years and even when I moved to the Tampa area, would drive just for my pets to continue seeing the same team of doctors. We love Lake Vet!

I couldn't be more pleased with this vet office. The prices alone would make me choose them above anyone else. I went to another vet recently and had a good experience, but they were triple the cost of Lake Vet. My vet was great, it was Dr. Oakes. He took care of my whole litter of puppies and was super gentle and loving. We also loved Donna. She was quirky and fun to hang out in the room with until the doctor came in. The only drawback of this clinic is that they don't take appointments. If you want to be one of the first seen then you should arrive at least an hour before they open. My suggestion would be to come on Thursdays. They don't do surgeries on this day and they are only open til noon (they see all check-ins before leaving). The last time to check in is at 10:30. I would suggest checking in then because the line has typically slowed down, ask for an estimated wait time, and then go home and grab your pet. This was great for me since I had 7 puppies that I was going to be wresting with. Definitely plan on being here for 2-3 hours but know you will be saving hundreds. I called 5 surrounding vet offices and I saved $600-$800 by coming here. And, they love your pets and the community. It doesn't get any better!

Finding a vet you can actually trust is stressful, but the moment you walk into Mount Dora Vet…read moreHospital, that anxiety disappears. The facility is clean, calm, and organized--which is a miracle considering how busy they stay. They've managed to maintain that "small-town" friendly feel while providing top-tier medical care. Dr. Tony is the G.O.A.T. - I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Tony. I have five dogs, and he is quite literally the only person I trust with their lives. Whether it's a routine check-up, a scary emergency, or a complex health issue, Dr. Tony approaches every case with a mix of brilliant expertise and genuine compassion. He doesn't just treat the animals; he takes the time to explain everything to the humans, too. He never rushes us out the door, and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Having five very different personalities in my dog pack, I appreciate how he tailors his approach to each one of them.

I'm very disappointed with how my situation was handled today. I brought my cat to Mount Dora…read moreVeterinary Hospital due to a possible blocked cat emergency. I understand that they are not a 24-hour hospital and that they close at 5 PM, that part is not the issue. When I arrived, there were about 20 minutes left before closing. The front desk staff told me they would check with a doctor to see if someone could at least take a quick look at my cat to determine if he was stable enough for me to drive to an emergency hospital. I was not asking for full treatment, just a brief assessment for peace of mind. I had been at this hospital just two days prior and had spent a significant amount of money on diagnostics, so I expected at least some effort or minimal evaluation. Instead, I was told that no doctor would see him because they were closing soon and "if he was blocked, there wouldn't be much they could do anyway." Given the circumstances, this response was extremely disappointing. A doctor simply coming out for a brief look, even just to say whether my cat appeared stable, would have made a huge difference. Twenty minutes is more than enough time for a basic visual exam or quick assessment, especially in an emergency situation. I was already extremely traumatized and distressed, and the lack of empathy, effort, and basic customer service left a very bad taste in my mouth. I wasn't expecting miracles, just compassion, professionalism, and a minimal attempt to help. Unfortunately, this experience made me feel like there was no appreciation for a returning client or concern for a pet in crisis.
