Auggie pup, "Roscoe"
Frances V.

We are new to North East Arkansas and just added a new pup. We only picked him up Friday so there was no time to get a vet local to us. So we traveled to Memphis to the Animal Emergency Clinic on Summer. We were treated kindly by all staff. The directions on creating an appt were posted clearly on the door and from there everything was smooth sailing. Our pup was seen and his wound addressed. What I really appreciate is that no one suggested any unnecessary procedures. The expense was worth it and it's actually what I was thinking I'd pay. Thank you for treating my puppy!

Took our little guy in on NY day and was seen quickly. The staff are amazing. The doctor was attentive and showed care and concern. Highly recommend!

If you if you desire empathy and plain decent customer service keep driving. Try the other location. This place sucks and the women they don't care about your pets! Arrived Sunday about 11 AM and we didn't go back until 2 PM. My fur baby had blood coming from both ends. Yes I was frantic I've had dogs over 30 years and never had anything like this before. My husband and I tried to enter the building and could not..Wevwere told to get back in the car and fill out the online form. The online form needs work. We both were trying to fill out the form on our phones and the page kept getting stuck at - how did you hear about us? Which is irrelevant when you're trying to take your dog to an ER. I wish I had seen the online comments prior to my visit. The other location in Cordova is much better I've been there before with another dog that we took in because he was hit by a car, it wasn't our dog. I kept asking if there was anything they could give her to pause the bleeding the lady said no I had to wait my turn. No empathy at all.I kept taking Bella outside because she wanted to go potty. But this time it looked like liver chunks was coming out instead of stool. When we came back in there was chunks still falling on the floor when we came back inside. I asked for paper towels to clean it up and the smell was awful. The receptionist told me she would get it later and she never did. We were the only ones in the waiting room she told my husband he had to stay in the car. Finally Bella got to go back. You would think if a dog is bleeding from both ends you would at least have the courtesy to pick the Animal up and not make it walk, only 9 lbs. Oddly you can't be seen until you fill out the paperwork give them your Social Security number and a credit card so you can not ripped them off but just wait cause they're gonna rip you off!!! I was told to turn my ringer up put my phone on the charger and wait for the doctor to call. He was nice enough he seem concerned Dr. Alan Humphreys. He explained that Bella had lost a lot of blood much of which was due to the wait time at the doctors office. He wanted to get her fluids back up with IV and blood work . I said OK. He call me back a few hours you hours later with an update stating he wanted to keep her overnight. @ $1500- $2200 based on what she needed into the night. In the end I decided to go and get my baby how could I sleep knowing how she had been treated prior to going back to be seen? I just didn't feel confident that they would care for her and if things went South would they continue to act in a detached way. 8 PM - When it's time to pay they send a link to your phone, when completed It states to drive around back and park at the backdoor and state your vehicle color and type. After waiting 15 minutes I called and told her we were here to pick up Bella. She then asked me what was the color and make of my vehicle. They have cameras all around the building. Somebody was too lazy to look at the information I had already provided. When the lady brought Bella out to the Jeep she told me to make sure to follow up with our vet. I said no worries we will see him first thing in the morning. Her whole countenance changed "Well ma'am I was just telling you." I didn't even respond. We we got home and I got her settled. I started reviewing her medication and had questions when to start because I did not want to over medicate her. So I called and asked when rdo I give the next dose? She couldn't tell me, oh in the morning. When in the morning? Just whenever you wake up. No I want to know when her last dosage of pain medicine so it can connect. She insisted just whenever we wake up. How is it I just paid over $900 and you can't tell me when the next medication should be given. Absurd! I kept asking questions and then she said make sure to put that one in the fridge. It didn't say that on my prescription sheet nor on the medication itself. I don't know what they have going on on over there but it's a hot mess! It is my understanding the actual veterinarians are contracted in show up for work and do what's required. But the women that run the facility should all be fired! Really there needs to be an investigation at this location. Please don't leave your fur baby here! We made it through the night every 2 hours I gave her small amounts of water. Then Monday - Wednesday 7:30 am - 5 pm she got more fluids and antibiotics from her Vet. Since then she's been eating chicken & rice.

This was a great place to take my furry kid it was an emergency visit, she had went straight from the regular vet with a referral, directly to this facility. Service was quick, fast, and friendly. She had to stay overnight and receive a blood transfusion. I felt confident about things and it went really well. I was informed about everything that they were about to do here and the different forms of avenues to go with her treatment. The next morning at 7 AM she was able to go home. She has been doing well. It's kind of pricey but for the life and the health of your pet in an emergency and after hours. I would go to them!

Despite that history, their grooming practices and management have become completely unprofessional and unacceptable. They require drop‑off before 8 a.m., but repeatedly leave my 13‑year‑old dog crated all day without calling to say she's ready. More than once, I've only found out she was done because I called around 3 p.m. and was told she'd "been ready for a while." Another time, I was told at 3 p.m. she wasn't ready, at 5:30 p.m. she still "wasn't ready," and then suddenly at 5:45 p.m. (they close at 6) she could be picked up. Every time after grooming there, my senior dog comes home panting, parched, draining multiple bowls of water, and with an upset stomach from the stress. This does not happen with other groomers. I've used the Collierville, Germantown, and Downtown locations and, while we've had some hiccups in the past, we were always able to work things out quickly. Because of a lack of available appointments, I went to the Poplar/Massey location for the first time, and that turned out to be a huge mistake. I told the groomer we'd recently been around another dog with fleas and that I wanted my dog cut a bit shorter than usual so I could easily spot any bugs--while keeping her spots, face, and whiskers intact, as they know from her photos on file. They agreed and promised to call when she was ready because of her age and her history of being left in a kennel all day. They never called. When I finally phoned after 3 p.m., I was casually told she'd been ready and the groomer had already left. They had barely taken any length off, yet still managed to make her fur extremely choppy and uneven. When I said I needed her trimmed shorter, I was told to come back the next day. Despite having a family member going into surgery, I went out of my way to bring her back. At the follow‑up, I again asked that her hair be shorter and explained exactly why. The groomer told me my dog's hair "was not made for their clippers," made virtually no changes, then said she was booked and that a manager would call to fit us in the following week. No one called. Instead, I randomly got a call saying I had a grooming appointment I was never informed of. When I said I wasn't aware of this appointment, the receptionist snapped, "Well, that's why I'm telling you now." When I asked if this was a new appointment or one to fix the last groom, she just said a manager would call me and hung up. When the manager, Kirby, finally called, he was defensive and dismissive from the start. Rather than acknowledge the repeated issues (all‑day kenneling, no calls, poor and unfinished cuts), he immediately labeled me a difficult customer and said, "It looks like we just can't make you happy." For context, the only times I have ever spoken up were when my dog was still wet at pickup, when a bandana they used DYED my dog blue and stained my couch, and when they cut her face/whiskers against my instructions. I have always been calm and reasonable, accepted their attempts to fix things, and never raised my voice or been abusive. Still, after that one conversation with this manager, I received a letter "firing" my dog as a grooming client. I want to reiterate that the vets themselves have generally been kind, and this review is not about their medical care. This is about a grooming department and management team that repeatedly fails at basic communication, leaves a senior dog crated for excessive periods, ignores clear instructions, and then blames and dismisses a long‑standing client instead of taking responsibility. I obviously will not be returning, and I simply cannot recommend their grooming department, especially not for senior dogs or pet owners who value consistency, accountabily, and professionalism.

When she brought him in, it was clear that customer service and compassion for animals were not a priority. The staff was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed no genuine concern for the well-being of the pets or their owners. It felt like we were just another number rather than people seeking care for a beloved family member. The only thing they cared about was receiving a payment. When you go to an animal clinic, you expect a certain level of empathy and professionalism--unfortunately, neither was present here. I sincerely hope the clinic takes steps to train their front desk team to treat clients and their pets with the kindness and urgency they deserve. I do think highly of Dr. Bugg and Dr. Durham, but I have to be pleased with entire staff to continue to bring my other fur baby to this clinic.
