Absolutely Community Hosp is a 5 star rate because they took such great care of our two Yorkies, until they were 15 and in pain from arthritis. My male would cry when he stepped into his bed. I know I'm late for posting this but it still makes my blood boil. May 12 2020 COVID hit and everything was shut down, I had to put down my beloved cat Phoebe due to old age and failing health. They had closed the office to guests and you could only drop off your pets and would have to wait outside to pick them up if you were. Event to have our cat be put down, I could not be there with her and can only imagine how terrified she was in her last moments of life. I went over with the tech multiple times that I had a service coming to pick her up for cremation. I even hand write it on the form. I had a terrible feeling when I left and they didn't give me back her carrier or blanket. As soon as a got home I called them back and asked about her. They threw her out. They threw out my cat that they wouldn't event let me say goodbye to and hold. That I had specific instructions on her being cremated. I was screaming. I don't even know if they gave the crematorium my cat. They could have given them any animal. I never received an apology from this vet office. I never received any condolences for my loss or how cold this process was. Don't expect them to take care of your pet in their final hour. Much less show them any respect that they deserved in life or in death. read more

I went up there on Saturday at 7am; and got in line before they opened. After a very slow check-in process, we finally reached the front and told the lady that our cat was in respiratory distress, vomiting foam, and seemed to be in a lot of pain. You would think that symptoms this serious would put us on a priority list, but she very nonchalantly told us that we were #6, and we should wait in the car until we are called. We later learned that doctors did not arrive until 8am to see patients. We waited nearly two hours, and still hadn't received a call to be seen. We drove to a different emergency pet hospital and were immediately taken in. Unfortunately, by that time, his condition had deteriorated to the point where there was nothing they could do, aside from a humane euthanization. Had we gone to the other hospital sooner, they may have been able to stabilize, diagnose, and treat him. For a medical facility that boasts the name "hospital," to be so willingly neglectful is absolutely beyond me! We put our trust in them to take care of our babies, yet they can't even recognize an emergency situation. If I could give them a zero, I would. I truly hope no one else suffers a loss due to their lack of professionalism or concern read more

Took my pet there today got there an hour before closing and the sign up sheet was still outside. Stood there for about 2 minutes looking at the staff communication with each other. It looks if though they were having a conversation about what to say to me, finally, someone came the door and told me the doctor wasn't seeing any more pets. I would have left if I didn't see the sign in sheet, but it was still outside. Then, the staff started taking everything inside right in front of me. VERY RUDE to do this while I was there. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. I have been truly traumatized by my experience with Dr. Baddley. I have a long time vet that has seen all my animals for years, but my family is experiencing financial hardship and could not afford the regular cost of euthanasia and cremation for my very elderly sick kitty. Someone told me that community pet hospital does it for $50, so I went there. There is a reason it is $50. Dr. Baddley skips the process of kindly and humanely sedating your loved one to be put to sleep peacefully. I am in my mid fifties and have had animals my entire life, been a regular volunteer in the cat area of a large shelter in the Dallas and now am a foster mom for MAS. I have witnessed and experienced many animals euthanatized in my life in many different states, by numerous different veterinarians. I asked to hold my baby during the process and that began his annoyance with me. Long story short, my cat was forcefully held down and a needle was angrily shoved hard in his back neck as he screeched, hissed and writhed. The nurse even had her welding gloves out to hold him down if necessary. I was in shock and began to politely ask the doctor about the procedure because I was very uncomfortable with what transpired in a few short minutes. That's when he flipped his switch and lost it. He started verbally accousting me for asking questions. I began to shake and cry and asked him how he could yell at someone in the middle of putting their long time companion to sleep, he didn't flinch or regain a professional composure, but he doubled down on his anger and started yelling at me more. I literally took my sedated limp cat in the carrier and took him to my vet to be put to sleep. Dr. Baddley even yelled at me that I could take my cat but I WAS GONNA PAY for what he did. I'm a very reasonable person. This man is not right. He has serious issues and should not be working with animals. I was ready for my baby to be put to sleep, but the experience with Dr. Baddley has left me with real trauma. read more

I have been taking all of my pets here for years. Everyone is always so pleasant, the vet is very knowledgeable, friendly, and able to answer all of my questions. When I had to put my oldest dog down they were beyond comforting and made me feel OK. This is the only vet I trust my pets with. The fact that they are also inexpensive is a bonus. read more

I was just here this morning and I was treated horribly! When I walked in the receptionist (JJ) was extremely rude! When I walked in she looked at me with a scowl on her face pulled up her mask and asked me what I wanted keep in mind there is 1 customer with 2 dogs standing there mask free and they're talking but I'm wearing my mask. So I tell her I am there to have my pet seen, apparently she didn't hear me and I repeat myself. She then tells me there is a 3 hour wait, I say ok and she orders me to go back outside and wait until she come out..I went straight to my car and left. There is no way I want my pet seen by these people after they treated me like this. I'm not sure if she was racist or not but that's how it felt and it is unacceptable. My husband and I have taken our dogs (and one foster cat) here for 20+ years. The price is reasonable and I love the vets. The only problem I have is that I am disabled (rheumatoid arthritis since age 3) and I have major trouble getting in the front door. I could take our pets alone if it were handicap accessible but it's not, probably was grandfathered years ago and doesn't have to be. I wish they would redo the front walk and make it accessible but I doubt that's going to happen. I was a little upset one time they didn't cut my min pin's nails because it would "upset her" which I thought was strange for an experienced vet's office. Aiso, the waiting time is unbelievably long. When I got my first per I price shopped all around Memphis for a quality vet at a reasonable price. My first cat i took here for a spay, front de-claw, shots and blood tests and it was around $200-300 total. That also included anesthesia and boarding for several days so the pet could heal. I found it encouraging that when I went to pick my cat up they knew here on a first name basis. When my cats need medicine, they can pull up their file and sell me basic medicine without having to see a vet. The medications and food don't have much markup on them and are reasonably priced. Yes it is an older style building that it is housed within and they don't take appointments only walk ins. That being said it sometimes takes several hours to see a vet, however I would rather wait for a few hours than have to have my pet wait a couple days of feeling bad before I could get an appointment. overall my visits here have been nothing but pleasant. The staff here shows time after time that they really love the pets they work with, and that is worth more to me than any human comforts. read more

Customer for over 15 years. Never had issues until the hiring of such rudeness at the front desk. If I told the whole story it would be a short novel. Dr. Badley can't run the front desk and do his work on the animals. However he really needs to, very quickly, clean house on the front desk and clean the clinic as well. Vinegar and baking soda is very cheap. Please pay close attention. I can't even count how many pet lovers I have sent there in the past. Not now until he really cleans house. read more

This is an inexpensive, dirty place to take you pet. I refuse to go there anymore. The last time I went was for a dog grooming. My dog has to be sedated so I dropped her off first thing on a Saturday and made plans with them that they would call me when she was ready. When it got within 30 minutes of their closing I called and was told she was ready. When I got there to pick her up she was still bleading from the rushed hack job they gave her. It was obvious they did not sedate her as required and charged. They did not disclose this and still charged the full price for grooming and sedation. read more

My family has been taking our animals here since I was a child and the office was Dr & Mrs. Kelley's. Mrs. Kelley is still there :-). The building is old and dusty, but you can't beat the honesty and compassion from the doctors and staff. They are a walk-in only clinic, so you will wait a while, but the wait is worth the price! Very inexpensive! I had to put my baby down in January and the doctor and tech and I were just balling our eyes out. They truly do care about animals and they will give you their honest opinion without trying to make a buck off of you. read more

Here's the thing, there are definitely flaws, but in the fundamentals they do everything right. What I mean is that even though the waiting room is a mess and they are always understaffed, everyone is there is just wonderful. I feel like the veterinarians and techs care as much about my pets as I do. They answered all my questions ably and patiently when I adopted puppies, and the vets are always wonderful. Best of all they are going to charge you a reasonable price. My cat needed a specialized procedure and another vet was going to charge $700. They charged $90 and I was able to get the procedure my cat needed, and he is happier and healthier today. I understand this place may not be a good match for everyone, but I will take my pets there as long as I live in Memphis. read more

I have taken cats there for about 4 years, but I'm looking for other options. Their strengths: mostly friendly staff, inexpensive and willing to work with me when I had a litter of sick kittens. Weaknesses: dirty waiting area with no way to separate animals (a dog peed on my caged cat!), no post-op painkillers offered, stitching not so neat, could not work with an angry cat and offered no alternatives (also did not offer me gloves or a towel restraint while *I* held him so his ears could be examined)... read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! they refused to see my beagle after having a 45-minute seizure. He also did not fix my Cane Corso leg when he did her surgery and ended up taking her to Memphis Veterinarian Specialist to get her leg redone. She is blind because his assistant doctor ruined her eyes. He did not catch on early that she had bad teeth so when she was 1 1/2 she had all her teeth pulled out by Dr. Greenfield at Memphis Veterinarian Specialist. I know the place isn't clean. They use dawn dishwashing soap to give baths and if your boarding your dog they don't take them outside to pooty, they pee and poop on newspaper on the kennel floors. If your going to board your dog here ask for a tour of the facility and see where your fur baby is going to be sleeping. They have untrained groomers doing the dog's hair. There Veterinary Technicians are not licensed at all and do not have any type of education experience in surgery or giving shots or drawing blood or doing any type of test. I recommend finding a vet office that is trained properly and that update on their medical practices. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO BE GROOMED HERE!! Just moved to Bartlett and had my dog groomed here, told them what I wanted. When I picked her up they had shaved my dog. They said her hair was to thick to do what I wanted. (Never had an issue at other groomers) But they did not call or communicate that they had to do something different. When I seriously gasped when I saw her, her response was "Its ok It will grow back." They shaved her to her skin on her underside, it is simply a terrible cut. People say they are cheaper, sometimes you get what you pay for. They work on a first come first served basis, so if you are not first in line your pet will be in a cage all day waiting their turn. Spend a few dollars more, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I have been a customer of this pet hospital for 12 years. The vet is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and I have always been treated well by the staff and office workers. Yes, it's an old building and extremely busy! This is because they are great at what they do, and their prices are super-reasonable! Nail cutting for my dog was only $5. Teeth cleaning was $84, with anesthetic gas, tranquilizer, and I-V during dental surgery, as my dog had nine bad teeth removed and stitches for only an additional $60! They can't be beat! After deep reflection, I believe I have an ethical duty to other pet owners to share this experience.
