Dr. Inge is terrific. She takes her time to identify what our dogs are going through, the course of treatment and what to expect. She never makes me feel rushed and encourages questions to make sure we understand what to expect. The staff at the front of the house and the nursing team are amazing. They treat my dogs like their own, always coming out from around the counter to greet them, give them a scratch and some attention. That goes a long way to lessen their anxiety about a doctor's visit. I've had two pets under their care and each have had their issues well managed. read more

Dr. Allison Inga is an excellent veterinarian and is professional and caring!!! The vet techs and front desk staff are also excellent. Our cat, Hamilton, suddenly lost his balance and could barely stand. Our vet determined it was his ears and referred us to Animal Dermatology in Wayne, NJ. Who knew a dermatologist handled ear infections? Hamilton had a severe inner ear infection in both ears and was missing his right eardrum. Dr. Inga gave us the choice of using medications to see if that would help Hamilton or a video otoscopy procedure, which requires anesthesia. Since this has been an ongoing issue with our boy, we opted for the video otoscopy. She thoroughly explained the process and gave us the choice to bring in an outside anesthesiologist or have them do it. We opted for the anesthesiologist. We were given an estimate showing the low-end cost and the high-end cost. The procedure went well! Dr. Inga flushed out the infection and removed polyps. Hamilton was on steroids and antibiotics for weeks after, and his balance returned, and we could tell he was much more comfortable. read more

Hey there! I just wanted to drop a review here to reiterate how thankful I am for the amazing staff at the ADAS Wayne, NJ office. I have a 5-year-old German Shepherd (Kodi) who has had seasonal itchy skin since ever since he was 8 weeks old. We came to the ADAS office is hopes to find a better solution than having Kodi on Apoquel long term. Dr. Andrew Rosenberg diagnosed Kodi with Atopic Dermatitis, and I was given a few options of how we could move forward with treatment if we wanted. Kodi got the Intradermal Skin Test (IDST) a few weeks ago and prior to our appointment, the staff was extremely kind and more than happy to answer all of my questions - there were many haha. I was super nervous about the light anesthetic for this procedure, but the staff made me feel extremely included and they provided me with every little detail about how the process works. They even offered alternative options if we did not want to move forward with this test. A special shout out to Alicia for walking me through the before & afters on this procedure. Alicia even reached out via phone call twice to check up on Kodi after his procedure! Danielle is always so welcoming to Kodi and me. She gives him all the pets and hugs each time he walks into the office. It truly makes such a big different for a dog that gets nervous at the Vet to be able to walk into a warm atmosphere each time we have an appointment. Whenever we come in for an appointment, Kodi runs straight to the front desk to see her! Dr. Rosenberg has been so informative since the first visit and even now after the procedure is over with. My poor Gotham has had skin/allergy issues as long as we've had him. This past summer was especially bad. In addition to having eosinophilic plaques all over his body earlier in the season he developed not once but twice this horrible inflammation in his paws. We were told it was one thing but at the end of the day our new vet recommended we see Dr. Budgin and right from day 1 I knew he was in good hands. Not only is she incredibly caring and through, but she listens! She also is not full of herself either like some vets - she is very honest and never makes promises she can't keep. I came here excited to take steps forward to help my cat and feel like we've only gone backwards. Our primary vet had let us know our cat's allergies were most likely environmental. She did not recommend an allergy test as these allergies are difficult to treat. She helped us find the cheapest Atopica online. After almost a year on Atopica I was hoping for some answers which is why I came to Riverdale. I provided their team with the same information as I provided our primary vet. 1) I was confident it wasn't flea allergies as I had tried even the best flea treatments for over a year, he is indoor only and we nor the vet have ever seen any sign of a flea on Oliver. 2) We were confident it wasn't a protein allergy as his scratching began within a couple weeks of us moving to a new house in a new city. We also did 2 food trials. I wasn't expecting an overnight fix but I was expecting to gain some knowledge to help my cat. On our first visit we were charged: Consult $245.00 Blood Test $175.24 Cytology $96.50 Covenia Injection (antibiotics) $82.77 TOTAL: 599.51 They recommended we double Oliver's atopica dosage. I didn't understand this as I had explained to them that the only reason Oliver had a flare up of symptoms was b/c I had tried to taper his current Atopica dose to every 4-5 days. If I had kept him on his current dosage every other day, it would have been sufficient. Atopica is a harmful drug and giving him more when it was not necessary did not make sense to me but I listened as I thought they knew best. Atopica cost me $87.99 online and they wanted to charge $150.62 for the same bottle. They mention that their prices are "competitive" yet they are charging double online pharmacies. As an attempt to justify their costs, they mention the concern of getting a prescription from an online pharmacy because the manufacturer may not supply directly to them. I confirmed with both Elanco (the makers of Atopica) and 1800petmeds that Atopica sold on 1800petmeds is provided directly from the manufacturer. I chose to get the medicine from 1800petmeds. Riverdale chooses to make this complicated. Instead of simply answering the phone for 1800petmeds to confirm the prescription (like our vet did in 1 minute), they give you a hard copy that you must physically mail to 1800petmeds in Florida. After our first visit it was recommended that we start a food trial with Rayne Nutrition. We transitioned Oliver over several days to their all Rabbit diet. After transitioning he experienced side effects of diarrhea and vomiting. At 8am on 8/6/20 I spoke with Kristen and let her know that Oliver was throwing up and was told to expect a call back soon. I had to follow up myself at 3pm. We determined it was the food as the vomiting always happened within a short period of him eating. We decided to switch him to a soy protein diet. Riverdale was closed because of a power outage so I could not pick up the food until the next day. That night I discovered that petco sold the product. I placed an order for the new food at petco which needed to be approved by Riverdale. I called Riverdale the next morning to let them know Petco would call to approve the order. By midday my order had not been approved so I checked in with Petco. They said they had called riverdale hours ago and had not heard back. I waited until 3pm and called Riverdale to ask why they had not answered Petcos call. I was now told that petco needs to FAX or EMAIL the order. Petco emails the order. It's now 4:30pm and I have not heard back from Riverdale so I call again. I am told the order will be approved by end of day. 48 hours later and my cat now has food he can eat...0 sense of urgency. On the first day my cat was sick they should have IMMEDIATELY told me to pick-up the food at petco. They weren't making money on it so they didn't care. Hesitantly, I take Oliver for his follow up. I was charged for a cytology package ($96.50), which I didn't approve. They tried to charge me for bloodwork which I turned down, as it costs half the price at our vet. They charged me $17 for Entederm which cost $6 at other pharmacies. They attempted to administer a second dose of Convenia, which is not even recommended by the manufacturer. (*From the manufacturers website: For cats, CONVENIA should be administered as a single, one-time injection. For dogs, a veterinarian may later administer a second dose under specific circumstances) Oliver was already experiencing severe nausea and diarrhea from the food prescribed and they wanted to administer a second dose of an antibiotic known to cause nausea and diarrhea. Riverdale said they wanted to "flush out his system." My poor cat would have no system left if it was up to them. I was done after this appointment. It's been 3 months now and I'm still struggling to get Oliver back to the low Atopica dosage he was on prior to our visit to Riverdale. They only care when money is going in their pocket. read more

I had to very reluctantly hand over about $400 for absolutely zero reason. Vet did notta for my pet. I took my pet to another regular vet and now I am getting action, for less money. This place was a waste of my money and my pet's time And health! I do not recommend this practice at all and the staff that answers the phone is disorganized and makes error and then doesn't take responsibility for it and points fingers at the client, in which the vet then plays along with. The vet should reassess his staff and actually do something for the money he is charging his clients. Again, he did nothing to help my pet. Just collected money. Our dog Daisy has severe skin issues and Dr. Budgin always takes time to examine her thoroughly and with such care. We initially brought her for perianal fistulas and Dr. Budgin knew exactly what to do and she has been in remission for several years. This time she was back for terrible dermatitis and of course Dr. Budgin knew exactly what to do. It's only been a few days but Daisy has stopped licking her itchy skin and the redness is resolving. Dr Bowden is very kind and has been dedicated to my cat Bowie's health issues for almost 2 years now. I feel he has thoroughly investigated all the avenues to try and control his severe allergies. Being Bowie is the worst case of allergies he has treated in a cat, he has been trying every option to treat him and I feel like he truly cares about him. Although it is still an uphill battle because Bowie is such a difficult case, he has definitely helped Bowie a lot and helped you keep his allergies as under control as possible. He always gives us a very thorough written report after every visit and is always prompt in returning communication when needed. I wondered whether to write this review as obviously I seem to have had a very different experience to most on here. We have found that after numerous visits and thousands of dollars we are still where we were with our normal vet and their treatment for our dog. The biggest problem I had was that I always felt the most important thing was just to keep us coming through the door and paying for treatments. We tried the immunotherapy injections which cost around $600, this led to a severe allergic reaction to our dog and a trip to an emergency vet on a Sunday. what's worse is that on my next visit to ADAS I was pushed to the pill form with the assurance the same wouldn't happen again, it did. And what's worse because I apparently didn't bring in enough of the solution I was charged ANOTHER $600 to re-formulate the pills. So I paid $1200 for both treatments and neither worked and both made my dog very sick. I am sorry I had to write this but I thought it only fair to give both sides of the opinion, I wish I didn't have to as all I wanted was to control my dog allergies but we are back to square one and moving forward with our vet and we feel we have just flushed thousands of dollars away with zero results and justy a push to keep getting us to come back and spend more and more. read more

I was recommended to this vet hospital after the kitten I adopted continued to have severe allergies to an unknown substance. After months with no resolution from my primary vet (not his fault), I did my research and decided to try Dr. Budgin. Prior to my first office visit, I sent in all my boy's records, as well as pictures of his skin and the office got back to me every single time, even if they just said "thank you." That made me feel like my cat and I mattered to them. My first visit was yesterday with my boy, William. Due to the COVID19 situation, I was unable to go in with him, but Darlene the vet tech, greeted me warmly and assured me my baby would be fine. I have no doubt he was in good hands, because when Dr. Budgin called me to review options, she told me since he was scared, they wrapped him in a warm towel with Feliway and turned on a bird DVD for him to watch. I found Dr. Budgin to be warm, personable and very knowledgeable about William's case. She started out with the least expensive option, which I am grateful for and I left with a very detailed explanation of everything we reviewed. I have no doubt that she will get to the bottom of his skin issues. I am very grateful to Darlene and Dr. Budgin for making me feel like my cat mattered. I called this office because my German Shepherd with Fistulas is finally healed up and my regular vet is out of stock of the one food that helped her. I explained I am in dire need of the food. The receptionist told me they DO NOT sell any food to non-patients. How horrible are these people? My dog will be so sick and it took 8 months to heal if she doesn't have the right food. He is the only dermatological veterinarian I trust with my 80lb stafford/pit mix who has food sensitivities and skin problems. Sampson, aka Muffin, loves the vet and ADAS treated him thoughtfully. I was consulted every step of the way to make sure I was comfortable and truly appreciate that because I am the big baby when it comes to Muffin. He received an allergy shot (instead of pills because I believe pills are very bad for us), a new diet to calm his stomach problems, a liquid for his ear infections, and a cream for his skin issues.
