Public service announcement: Went to dinner tonight at the Anglesea Pub and was served flank steak instead of the NY Strip Steak that we ordered. It was served w a side of brown mushroom gravy from a jar which is never served with a NY Strip. It was strategically hidden under three soggy onion rings. By far the worst meal ever and when asked to speak to the manager the owners (I'm guessing the McMullen Family) came out and stated that it was sirloin steak and when called out on that they attacked us and claimed "we do this for a living". We were called wankers and a list of other names by the owners and we were not the only table to complain about the same dish. On the up side the waitress was amazing and attentive and by far way too good to work here. read more

The environment of the pub is joyous and fun, it's definitely an Irish pub! The staff were kind and very team oriented, which I admired. The food was good. We got the special of the night: meatloaf and a curry pot pie dish. Both delicious. We will be back! read more

The Anglesea Pub is an absolute gem in North Wildwood. We've been coming here for years, the drinks are always cold, the food is always excellent, the service is super-friendly and the prices are always reasonable. We come to NWW several times a year, in all seasons and Anglesea is always a must. The food never disappoints; it's all good. But I dare say they have the best wings I have ever had...EVER. And last week we stopped in and I had their seafood chowder which was heavenly. Chicken Parm, Burgers, Shepherds Pie, Beef Stew...it's all delicious and apparent that the kitchen cares. If you happen to be down during Irish Weekend, this is the place to be (for obvious reasons). There is always great live entertainment both outside and inside. read more

So the Anglesey Pub is a g hidden in plain sight. After passing the pub about a hundred times, and getting a glowing reviewing from another couple I knew I had to give them a try. While the front steps are a bit steep, they offer free parking onsite and the interior is cute and homey. The inside looks like an old home, in a positive way, with a few different dining rooms including two enclosed front porches. Service was great and the Guinness bbq wings were delicious, I brought my mom and she had the roasted turkey platter, a Sunday special, which was perfect for her. As a pub they offer a full bar, and after hours have music and other events, definitively stop in and enjoy! Quick tip, Tuesday is $0.55 wing night!!!! read more

We came to this specific pub because it was recommended by a Hotel staff member in the area. We came from out of town, and we're pleasantly surprised by the environment, the staff, the food and the great music. The patrons at the bar were very friendly and the waiting staff were outstanding. The drinks are very reasonably priced and very enjoyable. The bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was clean, and the location of the pub was perfect to walk around. We happen to come on a very busy day and the staff was still accommodating and wonderful. Thank you for making our trip to New Jersey a great one! read more

This review is based solely on drinks with friends, as we did not eat. We came here as a recommendation from the previous bar we were at for dinner and this place did not disappoint. We first sat at a table and our server was excellent, as were the drinks. Once three seats opened at the bar we transitioned to there and the bartender service was equally excellent. There was a live band playing who was not overly loud, you could still hold a conversation without yelling. The live band was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed them. We stayed until the band finished playing for the night. This place seems like the place to go too in the off season and I'm sure is extremely popular during peak season as well. The parking is awful. The spaces are narrow and angled. If you pull in on the wrong side of the restaurant, it will be impossible for you to pull into one of the angled spots, so you'll have to drive around and do it the right way (of course that's what happened to us). Onto the actual restaurant/bar, it is very loud in there. I completely understand that's expected since it is a pub. We sat at a half booth (actually it was a half pew) half table. I sat on the pew side and it was really uncomfortable. Our server was very pleasant. The food came out in a decent amount of time. I had the buffalo chicken flatbread and really enjoyed it. We didn't mean to go here, intially. But when the place we intended to go to was little more than a shack and a picnic table, we found ourselves at the Anglesea Pub. It was Tuesday, so we took advantage of $2 Yuenglings and 49 cent wings. Mark my words: the wings are the undisputed STAR of the show. Wowee... Not only was the Guiness BBQ sauce sweet and abundant, but the wings themselves were HUGE. My favorite wing place back home has wings perhaps half the size of these monsters. We had two other quite good dishes. The Asian salad was well made, though probably could be replicated at most other restaurants. The Guiness beef stew was very good, but I didn't find it particuarly "Guiness-y," for lack of a better term. Still, it was a solid beef stew served in a bread bowl, very tasty and comforting. -1 star primarily for the service. Our waitress was friendly but great god almighty was she inattentive. It took forever for her to greet us, to get our drinks and take our orders, and I actually had to get up and hunt her down just to give her my credit card. Anglesea pub is open year round and has live entertainment on the weekends. The bartenders are awesome and they have many choices of both draft and bottle beers. The bar is small so it's a coin toss if you get a spot at the bar but they do have outside seating also. Anglesea is know for their wings but last night I was very disappointed. The wings were not the usual wings and they had very little sauce hoping it was an off night. I still have them 5 stars because it's the first time I had something that I was disappointed with. Hubby and I have driven by this place a zillion times, always saying we should try it, but never actually doing so until today. The pub is located in an old building from 1885 that has quite a rich history, including a past incarnation as a brothel. The bar itself is old and appears handcarved, and adds to the Irish pub ambience. Hubby and I each ordered a cup of the seafood chowder which was thick and rich and full of delicious seafood. Hubby ordered the Reuben sandwich and said it was one of the best he's had. I had the special honey whiskey burger, which was quite good, but overcooked. I asked for medium rare, but received it well done. Our server, Catty (?), was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. read more

I visit the pub every time I'm in Wildwood. I always try something different and I'm never disappointed. They always have a band and you can hang out there if you don't feel like dealing with the crowds at the other bars. We stopped by for a couple of drinks and grabbed a quick bite to eat before we went out. I had the fried crab cake sandwich with cocktail sauce on the side. I wasn't even hungry and I devoured it. There was too much bread which I didn't eat and 2 huge tomatoes slices on the sandwich which I took off and ate on the side. I didn't want to make a mess. Can't wait till I come back. read more

The food is terrible. Gave it a few tries, it's not just underwhelming, it's plain slop and not inexpensive either. Have had crab cakes, blah, soup, yuk, roast beef sandwich, rubbery, chicken cheesesteak, frozen chip steak and fry, and all served with old fries, taste like they're precooked and sit under a heat lamp. I do not understand the following with this place. I suppose it's the live music and that's all. We had a great experience. Great staff, cool outdoor music and eating setup. Of course, I will only truly judge the food I ate. I'm a picky pain in a$$, so, to make me want to write about it, it had to be balls-on bangin. I love love a great Reuben sandwich. Most places try to "put their twist" on it, and ends being a sloppy mess, or too much of one ingredient. The Reuben they served me was possibly the best effing reuben I've ever had, hands down. I wanted to go and puke up what I ate, just to make room for one more (not really...well...maybe...). Can't go wrong here. Everyone I was with raved about the food.
